Nice, I like the idea of you wearing other models for a day or period of time and then giving your feedback on them. Nice idea and video. Looking forward to more in the future. Even if it was different Daytona dial variations would still be a fun video to watch
I just got rid of my Panda (which was something I wanted for years) simply because when I wore it, it was was hard to immediately tell the time. Granted my eyesight isn't what it used to be, but there's so much going on and not a lot of contrast with the hands and background that it took me a few seconds to read the time. I realized if I kept it, it would be more for the "flex" and not for my personal enjoyment. I also experienced the irritation that you described , on my wrist from the 3 crowns. Anyway, dumped it and got a new Sprite with a chunk of cash. No regrets.
So true! I purchased the black Daytona as I preferred this over the Panda but it’s so difficult to tell the time! I believe I will trade it for the new sub in white gold (cookie monster) or ss sub. Crazy
I want this watch as my next watch because it's stealthy, and I like wearing heavy watches. Knowing my watch is sold gold just gives me much of a confidence boost, versus wearing a steel watch.
Nothing like a muted fly under the radar white gold bracelet Rolex. Only you know must of the time and the weight is satisfying. 2006 black racing dial owner since day one here. It’s more of a dark charcoal with just enough red. Agree with you brother! Does boost the confidence lol.
A confidence boost 😂😂? Think about that 😂😂That is the ultimate answer ....why people pay way waay waaay☝️ to much for a thing that tells the time (and date).
You didn’t mention one of the most important features of gold (and two-tone) subs: the bracelet has polished center links, making it more blingy and less daily, and recognizable from steel subs
This is one of the best watch reviews I've ever seen on YT for one simple fact. He actually WORE the watch for an extended period of time. Too many watch reviews are of watches the reviewer doesn't even own, much less have worn for even a couple of hours. And because of the feedback he was able to provide based on actually wearing the watch, I was quickly able to eliminate the WG Sub from consideration. I was in the market for something that's more of a "statement piece" and was considering this Sub. I buy a ton of watches but also sell a ton, as I always like to keep my collection small and like to wear the same watches for weeks. If this big muscled gentleman is saying this watch can get uncomfortable and heavy, then yes I know it will be too heavy/uncomfortable to wear as a daily, so I can easily eliminate it. Think I will stick to steel sports watches with a little extra flair. Strongly considering the Vacheron Overseas.
Thank you Leo I really appreciate that! So pleased you enjoyed the review - yes it is rather a hefty timepiece particularly for daily wear. The Vacheron Overseas is an incredibly watch and a great one to aim for - best of luck in your next purchase! 👍
Killer video. I also don't like top heavy watches. I sold a 16610 and got me a 16570 Polar, thinner, slightly lighter, not top heavy, and I love how it wears. One of my grails was this blueberry, watching your video it reminded me how the Sub date used to wear and why I sold it. So no more blueberry grail, I guess Pikachu Oysterflex Daytona it is, it would be a nice complement to my Polar, hope I can afford it one day!!
When I had the watch, my biggest concern was the weight. It was too heavy to enjoy as a daily. I moved it along. Now I have a Bluesy, a Sprite and next on my list is the same exact Daytona you have except in rose gold.
I liked this episode and continue to enjoy the channel Charlie nice one. Here’s a challenge for you though, I’d love to see you wearing something other than a Rolex for a week. A nice panarai I think would suit you or perhaps an omega or Patek. Or real wildcard a gshock.
Understand your point of view as a dealer, my point of view as owner is completely different I love the watch , i wear it every day in Miami and there is no one single person that wears the boring typical yellow or rose gold, that don't say wow to my watch , I don't buy watches for people to like it , i buy them for me and for me only. Same example on another watch that I bought the new Patek Calatrava 5226G and same thing, people that knows about watches become amazed, people that don't know about the watch don't even look at it , but same thing I buy for my personal satisfaction Thank you and love the channel
Congratulations on owning two utterly stunning timepieces mate! So glad to hear they’re bringing you joy and receiving admiration from other watch enthusiasts!! That’s what owning a luxury timepiece is truly about🙌🏻💯 Thanks for the support mate, it’s much appreciated 👍🏻
If you got the $44k to spend on this, great. You get 7oz of white gold, which is worth $14k on the market. But you can get a steel sub out of an Ad for $10k. The additional cost of white gold does not justify the additional cost. Not a fan of yellow gold, but at least when people see it they know it’s a premium watch. You can say “stealth wealth” all you like but people want others to recognise what they have spent. And the market agrees based on what these sell under retail. It’s poor value.
People who can actually afford these aren’t worried about whether it’s stealthy or not it’s a piece to add to a more robust collection, that stealth wealth lingo is for people who want to appear rich.
@@lemnisgate8809I’m not sure it is. I don’t think this watch interests a collector. There is nothing really special about it. For $45k there are far better pieces that a real collector would go for. This watch is for the builder done good. He goes into a Rolex AD, has money to burn and he loves the idea of a heavy, substantial watch. Plus, it’s available and ADs have a hard time shifting it.
@@spittinvenom9843I think so, but then people will pay multiple times more for a gold chain than for a stainless steel one. Both serve the same purpose.
I cannot understand how a submariner with a blue bezel can be a stealthy under the radar watch? If a standard submariner can be a theft magnet then surely any deviation in colour of the bezel is an indicator that it is worth more than the norm. Lovely watch. Just need a bodyguard as well to be able to wear one in Croydon 😂
It's not about the thieves. It's a bout the people. Your entourage. Your social environment. They probably won't know it is gold. And you don't want to show it. They will assume it's just a a steel ordinary Rolex. But it is not. Only you and connoisseurs will know... and THAT is the beauty of it!
I got used to the other wrist. Took a while. I also immediately put a protective kit on mine. Costs about £100 for the full kit and about three hours of patience putting it on. But gold is so soft and it scratches up fast. A year later still looks like new. Recommend that to everyone - really protects the clasp. Did the same with my yellow gold bluesy too.
I think that this watch lost the perfect equilibrium of the previous discontinued "smurf", which had the blue bezel, AND the blue dial. Still white gold, still discreet, but it had this extra blue dial which would bring something more to the eye, and made it really special without the yellow gold bling, or the over stealth.
Charlie I’m with you not a big fan of white gold. I’m more of a Everose gold. I was just offered a 228348RBR Day Date 40 by my AD. I thought it was too blingy. Not huge fan of yellow gold and covered with diamonds. Is that a model that’s popular?
For me I love this watch, the blue is absolutely beautiful, black dial is pure class and perfection and ppl that thinks this is a normal sub are ppl who are not in to watches so who cares. I think yellow gold is a bit too much and even if i like it i prefer it with smaller dressier watches with something chunky like the sub it always looks a bit douchy imho. Also u forgot the MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF ADVICE buying this watch will allow u to get a SS hot piece like GMT or Daytona hence when u think about the cost u also have to consider this very important fact especially if you are planning to become a Rolex collector
Curious as whether this watch being under list is a function of Rolex raising the RRP faster than the same price increases in the secondary or is there slightly more supply in the secondary versus from the AD? It would seem Rolex isn’t producing a lot of these met by the lower demand due to the high price point of a full white gold piece. From a longer term outlook, it appears the Smurf is trading at a similar price to this so is this only because it was discontinued and the supply from the AD is no longer available?
Can you tell me what parts of this watch are white gold? Is it just the case, links or hour markers? Example; what parts are specifically made of precious metal to justify that price point?
Mate, what are your thoughts on protective films would you look to offer it in future? Just a content idea for future discussion. But also please wear a full rose root beer or full gold pepsi and do another one of these!
I know what you mean. I have a BLRO on Jubilee and a Blue Dial Sky-Dweller on Jubilee. I wear my BLRO 80% of the time. Wondering if I should sell the Sky-Dweller or keep it as part of the collection I am building. I would only sell it because I could get 23-25K USD for Chrono24, less if sold to Grey Dealer, but put that toward the Daytona purchase, and since it doesn't get worn a ton... Decisions...
Ah that’s a tough one - would all depend on your circumstances! Will be a great one to hold in the collection but if you need to put the money towards the Daytona by all means sell!
@@thehonestwatchdealer no I don’t need to put it towards the new watch and everyone I keep asking says that it’s such a beautiful watch and if I have the financial means to keep it as part of the collection then to do it.

How about putting a black Rubber B on this watch. That would help with the watch sliding down your wrist and making it even more of a stealth wealth watch. It would still have heft but not to the point you feel it too much on the wrist.
I have a 116613LN absolute stunner the gold catches a bit of attention but I love yellow gold two tone. Added a M2 Kermit retail this year absolute stunner. Adding my grail soon 116623 Daytona gold dial. This watch would cost as much as those 3 and two are Subs one is a freaking Daytona lol. And if it’s for low key under radar the Kermit looks identical and it doesn’t have polished centre links. I get that this watch is amazing love the look but you must have deep pockets to get a 40K Sub just to look under the radar

I love it and own one, I love the weight. I have a OF WG meteorite Daytona, and the WG blue dial Daytona, and I wear the sub easily the most, often for weeks at a time. Normally I rotate my watch every few days, but this always lasts a lot longer on my wrist. Wish I'd bought it at 29k 😂
you've done well here, but selling a blueberry is difficult lol. I think if you love it you love it.....white gold pepsi is actually my grail im shocked.
I dont get "stealth look" the harmless average person on street may not know its gold but the muggers certainly will and it's those with the knives and bats you have to worry about
Counterpoint: I actually traded my 2023 Oysterflex Daytona black diamond dial for a 2023 Cookie Monster (Blueberry.) While the fit (no slip) of the Oysterflex was better, I actually feel much more “luxurious” or “special” wearing the cookie. My main issue w the Oysterflex was that it held dust and a small splash of water etc would make it look dirty - not like a smudge dirty but like a “oh right I’m wearing a 33k piece of rubber” dirty. I’m pretty OCD but to me it never felt “clean” and after 6 months of wear I couldn’t even imagine how beat the rubber would look in a year. Mind you I cleaned the watch every week but still it just didn’t feel premium to me. Now - same watch on a white gold bracelet I’m taking every single day of the week. And this was the ultimate reason to cut it, I just didn’t see myself enjoying this style of watch as the years go on (40 yo) how will I feel at 50? In a perfect world I’d have both - oysterflex to daily and cookie for 2-3x a week. This is my 7th Rolex and by far my favorite. Cheers

It would seem Rolex isn’t producing a lot of these met by the lower demand due to the high price point of a full white gold piece.
Sounds like you have an incredible collection built up!
The Daytona is an excellent choice to add next, such a stunning model - I hope you manage to secure one soon!
Good honest review. Subbed.
Thankyou mate glad you liked it!
Welcome to the channel 👍
Is this rhodium plated white gold or rhodium free white gold?
So they do not plate the white gold, Rolex uses their own special White Gold Alloy 👍
@@thehonestwatchdealer - thanks for the reply. That is interesting and good to hear. No cheeky yellow gold spots down the life of the watch 👍
@@RocketDog73 Not a problem at all, you are very welcome!
Yes Charlie, a very nice watch, you can wear & enjoy both wristwatches ⌚️🙏
Thank you for watching Gavin! Yes such a stunning model! 👌🏻
The current WG Submariner Date suits me the best in the current catalog and is a personal grail.
It is such a stunning model mate, hopefully you get this one added to your collection soon! 👌🏻
You can’t beat the Pikachu! 👌🏻💯
Oh absolutely not 👌🏻😉
It’s a heavy flex, 💪 very heavy literally and it’s available under retail!!! 1 million percent go grey.
Absolutely! 1 million percent! 😆🙌
Can you make a video or respond to the question. What makes you say any given watch is likely worn as a daily? Thanks 🙏
Great idea mate, I’ll see what I can do 👍
This watch trades under the retail because of the dial. Again, put some special dial and the price will skyrocket.
Good point mate! Would be interesting to see how a 41mm ‘Smurf’ would perform in the current market 🙌🏻
Welcome back Charlie. 👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks mate!
Beautiful watch, be nice if they did it in Stainless steel, great insight too 👏🏻😁
Would be incredible wouldn’t it! 👌🏻
Bought it for 31k right now almost has come down to 25k in market should i hold on has been constantly decrrasing in value
31k was it used?
Where have you seen this for 25 please refer
evening, really enjoying your reviews and look forward to your shows each sunday
i have recently bought the sky deweller and explorer and was loving them that i thought about the yacht master instead of the submariner and was wondering your thoughts
cheers
Thank you mate I really appreciate that!
The Yachtmaster is a stunning model, though not as popular as the Sub, go with what you like and will enjoy most! 🙌
@@thehonestwatchdealer Same I love the Yacht Master 40 with the Slate Dial.
definitely my favorite sub
Stunning isn’t it! 👌🏻
Guy wears $40,000 watch. Complains.
Beautiful watch…….described as unworn on your site, so does that mean a price drop now that it is “worn”?😊
Haha unfortunately this is not the same watch! 😆
Nice enough but so many other options at the price. Secondary discounts looking good if it’s your bag.
Definitely a great one to buy on the secondary market 👌🏻
I love it and own one, I love the weight. I have a OF WG meteorite Daytona, and the WG blue dial Daytona, and I wear the sub easily the most, often for weeks at a time. Normally I rotate my watch every few days, but this always lasts a lot longer on my wrist. Wish I'd bought it at 29k 😂
Sounds like you have an incredible collection!
It is such a stunning model, I can see why it gets so much wrist time 👌🏻
@@thehonestwatchdealer thanks, I have decent options.
I hope you sell a bunch of these cookie monsters, all the best.
You should try wearing the Platinum Daytona for a week next!
Haha maybe one day! 😆
Platona is my next piece. Please review@@thehonestwatchdealer
Great review of the blue berry , as you know I love the subs they are great watches , Thank you mate speak soon .💥💥👍🏻
They sure are fantastic models!
Thanks for watching Paul, see you soon!
Was this already worn/used or did you sacrifice a brand new unworn one for the video lol? As now it’s used as worn it for a week
Smurf is my favorite - Cookie Monster is cool, but Smurf is Goat
👌🏻💯
My old football colours, Royal Blue and Black. Similar tot he Batman
Such an incredible colour combination isn't it 👌
I tired this on at an AD in Sweden and it is so hefty I had a hard time walking away it is sweet
Such a heavy timepiece isn’t it!
Best to get from the grey market if you are going for this one 👍
What do you think about the oyster flex on a woman?
They look great! Increasing in popularity among women 👍
Bezel insert, not bezel?
interested to hear your thoughts on rubber b vs oysterflex ?
Rubber B are fantastic, though don’t come close to the official OysterFlex 👍
Pikachu is the perfect name for that. 🎉
👌🏻💯
really good time to buy the bluberry white gold ;)
👌🏻💯
From a viewers standpoint, the Blueberry did look good on your wrist.
It is a stunning model isn't it, looks great on all wrists! 🙌
my ad tries to flog me this everytime i ask for steel sub. they seem to always have the full gold in stock recently
Unfortunately being so underlist they are struggling to sell them!
The white gold subs are stealth wealth- I personally like the Smurf more because of that unique blue dial, great review!
Ah yes that is incredible with the Blue dial as well, very tough to beat 👌🏻
you've done well here, but selling a blueberry is difficult lol. I think if you love it you love it.....white gold pepsi is actually my grail im shocked.
Thank you mate! The White Gold Pepsi is an incredible timepiece, great taste! 🙌
I prefer the full gold one instead
Cracking model, though a little less Stealth! 😆
I bought a longineshydroconquest and I love it I got tired of the games
Enjoy it mate! Stunning timepiece! 👌🏻
goat watch tbh
It sure is 💪
I dont get "stealth look" the harmless average person on street may not know its gold but the muggers certainly will and it's those with the knives and bats you have to worry about
As a pikachu I too am a fan of the blueberry as well
You have great taste!
if Rolex releases a full steel version of this... it would be an instant hit
It sure would, fingers crossed for March! 😆🤞
Cheers
Thanks for watching mate, yes a model like this you definitely are aware you are wearing something special on the wrist with the weight of it!
Such a great model to save for those special occasions 👌🏻
Love the insights.
Thanks mate, glad you liked this one! 🙌
i dont get the Daytona at all. it costs a bomb, its busy AF with a complication that hardly anybody finds useful. Much prefer the sub - has to have a date for daily wear. Not sure you can beat a date just or day date to be fair...
Ah yes I can understand that, everyone has their own tastes! the Day Date is an incredible model and one of the top to aim for 👌🏻
There is no way I would choose that over the white gold pepsi, non comparison.
Everyone has their own tastes, can't go wrong with either! 👌
@thehonestwatchdealer true, who am I kidding they are both top tier, fabulous watches. How does the pepsi wg stack up value wise compared to this? Still less than retail unworn?
@@farleym4486 You are not wrong there!
Yes unfortunately being full precious metal models they would be rather underlist.
Any Rolex will look stunning on your wrist. Good size wrist and tattoos make them look great! I will miss the Pikachu but I agree, need to change it up. Wear it in good health, Charlie! 👏🏻
Thank you Michael I appreciate that!
The Pikachu is back, don’t worry!
Thanks for watching 🙏
Another great video Charlie, can’t wait to go visit you at the boutique on Wed
Thanks mate glad you liked this one, look forward to seeing you soon!
I also have the same 😁
Incredible watch mate! Enjoy it! 🙌
Wear the Deepsea D-Blue every day and after that every other watch feels like you're putting a Swatch on.
Haha It sure does - such a hefty watch! 🙌
Beautiful Rolex Daytona with & 2 dollars rubber strap it looks $ 20 dollars watch
Your definition of stealth may vary.
My “Daily” would absolutely HAVE to have a date function. So, no to Daytona for me.
Ah yes they are very handy!
wait.... u LITERALLY wore it every day for 7 days?? holy shit dude, thats crazy
Haha I sure did! 🙌
Surely it’s gotta be called the Vimto?
Lovely Cookie Monster
Stunning model isn’t it 👌🏻
White gold just don’t looks like a 30 grand watch
Exactly what makes it a stealth wealth! 👌🏻
This isn’t the Blueberry, also you keep saying how heavy it is as it’s a solid gold watch which it isn’t, it has more steel than gold.
Okay fine Ill buy a Pikachu then
😆🙌
One of my favorite watches. Now if they would use the Brighter Bluesy Bezel on this watch, it would be Perfect !!!
That would be incredible wouldn’t it 👌🏻
