thank you some much for this amazing tutorial Jane ! can you please give me an advice about hand's synchronization ? because at this part 2:17 my hand are not at all synchronized ! I am learning piano by myself since 3 months and I took the decision to start learning this song, I know that if I really commit into that even if it takes 2 months or more, before a year of self-teaching I'll be able to play it
Thank you for your compliment. For the 4 notes against 3, I made lessons on polyrhythms. Please enter that word in the search box of my website (not YT). My method is mathematical and might feel tedious, but it does work. Practice just one measure until you get used to the rhythm. The rest will fall into place. Hope to hear of your success...
thank you for that honor, I am really overjoyed ! I am checking that right now, and I will practice ! thank you so much to believe that I can do it. It's a new source of motivation for me... I will work hard

Whenever I want to learn a challenging piece, I look at your channel since you've definitely made a tutorial about it. You are a wonderful person m'am.
The speed isn't the difficult part, it is the fact that the left and right hand play soooooo differently, like in the beginning for example, almost none of the notes are played at the same time 😫
@@nikolaxo What I mean is that when you really think about it, it isn't super technically demanding on either hand if played individually. It's pretty easy to play the left hand at regular tempo, and it's moderately easy to play the right hand at regular tempo once you get used to the fingering. Speed isn't an issue (or at least it wasn't when I finally learned the first minute, as of a few days ago), it's coordinating the two hands when you're just beginning to learn the piece cause whether you play slow or fast, sometimes you'll accidentally play one hand faster or slower than the other and completely lose where you are. What I learned from trying to play this piece is that after a certain point, you should kinda stop thinking too much about the polyrythm and start trying to simply "feel" the piece and where the notes coincide with one another, then you can start building up piece and focusing only on getting those two notes to coincide four times per measure. But to each their own, I guess, maybe I think this way because eventually I simply start relying on muscle memory to play.

Excelente su tutorial. Ahora bien. Cómo se hace para compaginar las dos manos? ... primero mano izquierda, luego mano derecha...será?? Agradezco otro secreto... Gracias. Desde Venezuela.
I try to combine both hands right away. Set a metronome to a slow enough tempo so that you can do that. When no mistakes, tick it up by 1 bpm. Our brain wouldn’t even know we’re going faster. Keep repeating those steps until we reach the desired speed. Is that a secret? 😊 just logical 😊 good luck practicing! ❤️
Wow...That was amazing really! I was only 5 when this came out, I guess this song is so hard! U could play it right away when u look at the sheet!!! :) I 'd be 80 years old if I can finally play this song XD!!!
Study my sight reading lessons, continue reading through the Czerny op.599. Practice scales and arpeggios 15 minutes a day. In 6 years you can learn this piece in a month’s time.
The slow part is my favorite part :) For the other parts, pick 4 measures and practice only those until fluent. If that works, you know you can learn the rest
I just get discouraged easily and I didn't go for more daring pieces after quitting lessons and going to college. It's probably time to take on one again.
@@janepianotutorials So it's instinctive in the end cause at speed you can't really discern if the notes go in between. And according to a friend of mine who's a classical music performer, you shouldn't be thinking about it much, when at speed. Thank you for your reply Jane.
Howdy, new subscriber. Like this a lot. Have you thought of doing a fingering for the Beethoven Sonatas? I heard of a version fingered by Czerny, but apparently his fingerings were lost to history somewhere. You have a very good command of this. Thanks, Joseph
thanks for subscribing. google search this in quotes: "beethoven's masterpieces imslp czerny". making tutorials for the 32 sonatas has been floating in my mind...
Hello BEAUTIFUL JANE It is me again the 74 year old Grandmother from Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺 I am just making a correction on my comment I said that my Husband died in 2021 The correct year that he died was 2001 MAY YOU ALL BE WRAPPED IN A BLANKET OF LOVE MUSIC HEALS 🎶 HAVE THE BEST DAY EVER ALL OF YOU LOVE GAYE ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘 ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘 ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘
Hi jane, I'm having hard time reading the piece because of the polyrhthms. According to my sight, all of the notes in RH and LH are played together, I just can't see any space between the notes, if you understand what I mean. Do you have any tips for that?
Did you look at my sight reading lessons, scales, or math lessons? I talk only when necessary. Give me an example of what you wish me to to say out loud.
I choose a speed that makes it easy to check notes. 60 bpm for the most frequently occurring note value usually works fine. In some tutorials I vary the metronome to adjust to the difficulty of certain sections.
There is no age guide, if you search YT, you will see a wide range of ages. Try a short section that appears difficult, if you can learn that, then you can learn the rest.
Hi Jane, I am 14 years old and have been playing for 3 years now. My last piece was Chopins Waltz op. 64 no 2 (learned through your tutorial 😀). Do you think I could master this piece, too?
It is possible. Pick _one_ line that is more difficult and practice that. If you succeed, you know you can learn the rest. The line starting @2:45 has the same polyrhythmic pattern, plus some hard to execute accent marks. That would be a good test.
I know that watching famous pianists is better, but i thought that i may take the hand movement of your playing 😊Because i play it correctly while slow tempo but the problem is when i speed the tempo i struggle with some passages☺So as you are a brilliant teacher i thought if i see the movement of your hands that may be beneficial😅 Thank you anyway
Thanks :) I'm no brilliant teacher... Try some speed apps? YT has a speed tool 1.5x, 2x (right corner under the video). Or Google Chrome has a " + - " box on the top left.
i want to ask something, is that very important to play all the song that in beyer or a book that given every grade? and this song was seems really hard :( but i want to play this...
piano teachers usually assign this piece after the student's 6th year. by then, the student would have learned 100+ (grade 1 -6) pieces, and be skilled at scales and arpeggios. this method is left-brain learning (math side). by the 6th yr, one can learn pieces independently. some viewers have been able to, without preparation, learn this by imitation and memorization. that is right-brain learning (art side). one remains _dependent_ on tutorials to learn pieces.
Hi PHo, will teach you how to find the tempo for any video. 60 bpm = 1 sec per beat. tap your finger to the beat of the video, and make a guess. adjust the metronome up or down until it matches your tapping.
Hey Jane! You've helped me immensely with my fingering with this piece! If u wanna check out how I play it now I uploaded a video!!! Thank u so much for your help and greetings from Egypt!
Are you guys listening out there? Jane has asked us all for a $1 contribution to help a young penniless young man to buy a digital piano to help him developing his extraordinary skills so he does not have to pay rents to work on classical works he treasures. We all know what we all ow to Jane’s daily dedication for making tutorials for tastes and all levels of piano music. The figures can’t lie : 112 656 subscribers 74 093 753 views… That tells a lot. Doesn’t it? Dozens of us have requested tutorials from Jane and where very pleased when she duly delivered them. Many have expressed their thanks. Meaning many of us owe much much more than $1 worth of gratitude to Jane. Any objection? So please guys, now is the time to show your gratitude to Jane. The money is not going to fill Jane’s wallet. Instead, it will help a very deserving young man to perfect his skills the same way many of you are lucky enough to do with the piano you owe. No act generosity there. This is will only show your gratitude to Jane. GoFundMe page: "HELP SEAN GET A PRACTICE PIANO" www.gofundme.com/cffmp-help-s... Many thanks in advance.
Can stop preaching. Jane is in disbelief. Had no idea the people she helps daily and those who thank her profusely would be so selfish. They expect everything handed to them for free ? Ha ha, even had Rach 3 on the agenda, played by an award winning pianist who is visiting this month. Now Jane is thinking of PULLING HER CHANNEL completely, not just strike.
I can't seem to play this piece at the actual tempo it's meant to be played in, I've been practicing and practicing but I just can't seem to do it, what do you recommend to practice to help my speed?
+Dark Duck Do not waste time on the easy parts, practice only the parts that give you trouble! Pick a set of measures. Set the metronome to the speed you can play it at. then increase the bpm by 2. When no mistakes. repeat the steps.
bar 14 LH, you jump E to B with 5 finger, is no good for fast play. better : E5 B2 E1 G#2 E1 B4 / next bar A5. yes i saw the dot on E but not in my edition.
You can speed the video with speed tools if you want to see it faster. My playing at tempo won't help anyone. We learn from listening to various concert artists.
Me too, but I am human :) I am fortunate to have supportive viewers who point out my errors, and they are notated in the description. You can learn from my mistakes.
How is this a tutorial? Anyone that plays pieces at this level should be able to imagine how it sounds played slowly by reading the notes. A tutorial would then go further into detail and explain how single difficult parts are meant to be played, i'd imagine. Anyway, good work, just the title was a bit misleading for me.
it will surprise you how much raw talent is out there. it shocked me. now I am used to it.. many love Chopin and KNOW how the piece must sound. they never had the opportunity to play piano until adulthood. for example, my two scholarship winners started from zero. they quickly learned advance pieces without knowing how to read music however, my tutorials are meant for those learning to follow the sheet music -- note checking, fingering, counting
Génial pour la maîtrise du tempo malgré le ralentissement Ce qui offre aux débutants comme moi une ressource pédagogique inestimable, ne concèdant rien aux soucis de rigueur qui doit accompagner toute exécution d’une œuvre musicale
thank you some much for this amazing tutorial Jane !

Actually, exactly the speed is the problem. When you're playing it fast it doesn't even feel like there is a poly-rythmic.

now you get to choose the pieces you like, nothing to prove except to enjoy the challenge. i went through the same experience. no regrets :)
Yeah, I'll have to have a little more patience with it.
Thank you! 😄
You're welcome!
thank you, You are the best
thanks, Armin :)
Thats cool, i didnt know how to play the second line
good luck learning it!
Jane thanks
Do you ever think about where the notes fall at speed? Or it is instinctive after training at slow speeds?
When we practice, we incrementally increase the tempo, so the notes mostly fall into place by habit.
@@janepianotutorials So it's instinctive in the end cause at speed you can't really discern if the notes go in between. And according to a friend of mine who's a classical music performer, you shouldn't be thinking about it much, when at speed. Thank you for your reply Jane.
Yes, usually by the time we reach tempo, the piece is memorized. The main concern is to bring out the music.
great job! :)
+MrPianolee thank you!
Part 2 please 😍
Did Part 2, use the webpage link in the video description?
Nice Teaching .
Thanks!

Hi jane, I'm having hard time reading the piece because of the polyrhthms. According to my sight, all of the notes in RH and LH are played together, I just can't see any space between the notes, if you understand what I mean. Do you have any tips for that?
Hi Danielle, I made lessons on polyrhythms. Go on my website and you'll find the tutorial links. Good luck!
jane will you do voice tutorial? its might help us much. thank you
Did you look at my sight reading lessons, scales, or math lessons? I talk only when necessary. Give me an example of what you wish me to to say out loud.
Jane um
Jane wow i didnt know that you teaching so much things lol
PianoBoy I can say that, “um” 😀
PianoBoy I have time because I’m old and retired. I hope you study hard in school so that you can plan a good career that will help humankind.
The different rhythms between the right and left hands are what keeps messing me up. 😭Thanks for this tutorial though, it’s really helping.
Please read the replies under the pinned comment. It shows how to overcome that difficulty.
Good practice
Good luck practicing
Hi Jane may ai ask how much do you usually slow a piece by? Thanks
I choose a speed that makes it easy to check notes. 60 bpm for the most frequently occurring note value usually works fine. In some tutorials I vary the metronome to adjust to the difficulty of certain sections.
@@janepianotutorials Thanks
Hi, do you have the sheet of this for download? I'm looking for a sheet music of this with fingering for faster progress :) thanks
IMSLP is the best site for classical scores, include IMSLP in your google search box
도움이많이됬습니다 감사해요~~
you're welcome!
What is your website to watch ? Thank you
Website link is in description. Thanks for your interest.
Another question miss jane!
do pieces like this have a certain age to play or grade particulary🙂 and sorry if i made you tired of answering quetions😅😅
That would be a good test.
i used to play it a log time ago..but i lost it naw :'(..i will tray to do it again..it worth it..good gob
it'll come back to you quickly. have fun!
Jane hi
Wow...🎹🎼
🤗
Thanh you.
You’re welcome
Thanks very muchas jene
You're welcome, Marck
The link to the sheets isn’t working for me, could someone point me in the right direction
Include the term IMSLP in your Google search along with the title. Downloads are free.
Jane I will try that thanks!
Can you upload a preformance of its normal tempo because i would like to see you playing it fastly😊if there is no matter of course☺
For at tempo versions, wisest to refer to concert artist performances. If we want an overhead view, we can speed the video 4x using VLC Media Player.
Can you send me the sheet music in the video? I like that sheet music.
Include 'imslp' in your google search. imslp is the best site for free classical sheetmusic.
i want to ask something, is that very important to play all the song that in beyer or a book that given every grade? and this song was seems really hard :( but i want to play this...
piano teachers usually assign this piece after the student's 6th year. by then, the student would have learned 100+ (grade 1 -6) pieces, and be skilled at scales and arpeggios. this method is left-brain learning (math side). by the 6th yr, one can learn pieces independently.
some viewers have been able to, without preparation, learn this by imitation and memorization. that is right-brain learning (art side). one remains _dependent_ on tutorials to learn pieces.
Can you do flight of the bumblebee
Did that one. Easiest way to find my tutorials is to use the search box on my website (not YT)
Could you tell me the bpm that you use in that video, thank you so much..
You played beautifully. Do you have a teacher?
@@janepianotutorials I do!
@@mollyzag That's great!
how do i read the note on top!
+Tintin Woeser see the sight-reading link in the description? start with lesson 1. you can do it!
Genius, anxiety attack described in music
🤣

Many thanks in advance.
Can stop preaching. Jane is in disbelief. Had no idea the people she
helps daily and those who thank her profusely would be so selfish. They
expect everything handed to them for free ? Ha ha, even had Rach 3 on
the agenda, played by an award winning pianist who is visiting this
month. Now Jane is thinking of PULLING HER CHANNEL completely, not just
strike.
Jane lmao are you kidding ?
Kidding about what? the Rach3 is real. I was disappointed when I wrote that. Started making tutorials already...
I looked up Imao. You are laughing about this serious matter? makes me sick
Which level is this piece jane?
Did I put it in the video description? I would guess Level 7.
Jane Okay thanks Jane, I'll try that out.
Duck, did it work?
how do you speed the polyrythm though?
+Sam Côté click my name to get to my website, then enter 'polyrHythms' in the search box
If you put it in 2x it sounds creepy🤐
How about 4x ? VLC Media player does that well
bar 14 LH, you jump E to B with 5 finger, is no good for fast play. better : E5 B2 E1 G#2 E1 B4 / next bar A5. yes i saw the dot on E but not in my edition.
Chopin editions vary the most. Do what your books says. On fingering, do what your hands like :)
Funny how it is so much harder to play at low speed. The polyrhythm has to be play perfectly because you can hear every mistake like that.
Any slow playing makes mistakes transparent :)
Could you please make a vedio that play at regular tempo?
You can speed the video with speed tools if you want to see it faster. My playing at tempo won't help anyone. We learn from listening to various concert artists.
jane i want to ask.which grade this song ussually play?
hi Johann, usually after 6th year
i’m so confused on how to line up the eighth and sixteenth notes ughh
Check my tutorials on polyrhythms? Enter that word in the search box of my website. Good luck 😊
The link on the site doesn’t work anymore. The score used in the video can be downloaded here : imslp.org/wiki/Special:ReverseLookup/79763
Thanks Paul. Fixed the link.
maravilhoso!
Jane i wil be happy if u dont have mistake :(
Me too, but I am human :) I am fortunate to have supportive viewers who point out my errors, and they are notated in the description. You can learn from my mistakes.
Jane okay
How is this a tutorial? Anyone that plays pieces at this level should be able to imagine how it sounds played slowly by reading the notes. A tutorial would then go further into detail and explain how single difficult parts are meant to be played, i'd imagine. Anyway, good work, just the title was a bit misleading for me.
it will surprise you how much raw talent is out there. it shocked me. now I am used to it.. many love Chopin and KNOW how the piece must sound. they never had the opportunity to play piano until adulthood. for example, my two scholarship winners started from zero. they quickly learned advance pieces without knowing how to read music
however, my tutorials are meant for those learning to follow the sheet music -- note checking, fingering, counting
Génial pour la maîtrise du tempo malgré le ralentissement
Ce qui offre aux débutants comme moi une ressource pédagogique inestimable, ne concèdant rien aux soucis de rigueur qui doit accompagner toute exécution d’une œuvre musicale
Thanks for writing, glad it helps.
