Hi Carlos, thanks for the comment. Just trying to share my honest opinion, some people do not agree with what I'm saying, which is totally ok, everyone has different use cases and needs. I would not say it´s a bad product, in my use cases not a real action cam. I will keep the AcePro for its image quality and great in cam AI features like stop/start recording, edit the video duration etc. For hard core action scenes I would pick my DJI or GoPro.

actually there are a lot of reviewers talking about these issues, is the first video you've seen?? I've been watching videos since this launched. Same three complaints, imo, like all cameras, everyone is different for their usage. You can't say that flip screen is a bad idea therefore it's a bad camera, if you're worried put the screen down and lock it, simple at least we have a flip screen option lol. at the end of the day, it's that usable footage for our content and this camera does that, yes all cameras have their "thing". Remember DJI 3 had a focus issue, GoPro still has overheating problems in a 12th gen camera??? seriously and yet we just 'live' with it. If I had a penny for lost footage due to overheating issues on my GoPro.... you get the gist.

No one would flip the screen open while recording action scenes. It’s more for vlogging. It gives you an option to use it if you want.
This is nitpicking. Why would you want a front smaller screen to see yourself when you can use the bigger flip screen?
Does the screen get scratched? Install a screen protector if you are worried. You do have some valid points. This is Insta360 first action cam and it did they did a fabulous job! This cam is packed with features and I can overlook some of the weaknesses mentioned in this review. I'm sure in the next upgrade, Insta360 will hear some of your feedback and include them. Cheers!

Hi @paulchin4094 this is the question I get all the time :) I´m skiing very often and I want to see if I´m in frame or not , the other issue is the wind I get over 3000m.
I´m not the action cam authority :) just sharing my thoughts and at the end of the video I say the same, impressive, innovative device but not the best action cam. I have the insta360 Go3 with flip screen as well, I see flip screen general as mistake if you want to use it for several years.

@@wheelxtech I see what you mean. Skiing is a fast/aggressive action spot and the flip-screen does face potential risk. For the framing purpose, I suggest using the Insta360 GPS Preview Remote. You can wear it like a watch strap on your wrist and do live viewing/recording/framing, etc. It can also display cool stats (distance, speed, etc) on your video screen!
For the wind sound, it can get really annoying esp at high speed (I'm using it on my motorcycle, mounted on my helmet chin). I used an external Lavalier mic with a wind muff and lowered the Mic gain in the setting then hid it in my pocket (or inside my helmet if I'm vlogging). This helps a lot. Or you may remove the wind noise during your video editing, depending on your preference. Just my 2 cents. Anyway, keep us posted on your experience with the Ace Pro, and looking forward to seeing your next review/sharing. Enjoy!

the issue I see is, people have different understanding of action, for some of the users riding bike or running is action, for some (I would say minor) users it´s snowboarding, surfing, downhill biking, motocross, skiing etc where you have much more dirt/mud/sand/wind.
As mentioned I like the cam and will check the GPS Preview Remote.

Nobody is going to have the screen open while doing action sports. The screen will be fine in a year since it’s the same flip up screen on the Insta360 Go 3. I do wish there was a video screen on the front along with the flip screen.

@@wheelxtech Wrong, I'm a scuba diver and I bought this specifically for that. Why would even use a flip screen during a deep dive? I have a DJI osmo with a front screen, I dive exclusively with for years, never used the front screen, when you have a camera mounted on your dive vest, front screen is useless. Even when you record with a camera using a handle, you use the back screen, flip screen is irrelevant in a scuba dive scenario. Sorry, this is my department, I do scuba dive photography.

I don't see the flipscreen as a negative. Just because it's there, doesn't mean you have to use it. Sure it would have been nice to see yourself in the frontscreen too, but cant really think of an example, where you would not want to use the flipscreen for that.
I agree on the non-exchangeable Lense tho. Yes, it will get scratches eventually and have to send it in for repair. Also can't put other lenses on it.

mhhh agree with some of your points, my unit arrived last week and I have already had some time to play around with it. For example I don't really get your point with the vacuum cleaner 😅 in what situation will this ever occur? I actually bought it specifically because I reaaaallly like the flip screen and how versatile it makes framing. 10bit color I agree on, but honestly speaking, when I do action camera footage I rarely color grade as I would do it with my mirrorless, I guess that's the same for 96% of users. For the lens cover, yeah they shoudl have learned from GoPro there, but at least in most countries (like here in Germany) getting that cover exchanged for free just takes a few days according to their customer service (yes, first thing I asked).
Overall I'm quite happy with the camera compared to my older action cameras, especially the low light capability is a game changer for our dark north european winters in which normal action cameras essentially become absolutely useless for 80% of the day.

Servus, I´m also in Germany @chillfightsforfun it was a hair dryer :) I wanted to demonstrate the situation during skiing where I have high speed (my record 101kmh), wind I get during that. A front screen where you could see yourself would actually eliminate this issue, while skiing I would like to see if I´m in frame or what is in frame. The disadvantages I presented are not valid for most of the users out there, my use cases are pretty action/dirt/wind based. I´m also pretty impressed by the device except points I mentioned. 10 bit is for most of the users is not important as I mentioned. Again, this is not for everyone. ND UV filter for the scratch lens issue, we use this on our $5000 SLR's, we use this on GoPros, DJI's, simple fix. I don't think this is the King of actioncams, pretty darn close, Ace Pro 2 will be the king I think. @@wheelxtechI'm not being rude, it was just a funny comparison lol But in all seriousness, this camera has been bashed since launch but we tend to overlook that GP and DJI ALL has had issues also, how does one explain a 12gen camera still having serious heating issues resulting in loss footage, its funny, people have gotten so use to it that it's not even a thing anymore lol and yet, they still defend that device. Also, remember that this is Insta360 's first stab at an action cam format and it's already outperforming it's competitor with so many models already but the 'fanboys' just can't get over it lol. Do you remember when DJI first came out, it was also bashed by the fanboys, now the DJI Action 4 is out selling the GP12's, I own DJI cameras and drones, they have amazing stuff. See where I'm going with this? Thank you for the review but I think more of the positives which is a lot should have been pointed out as much as the negatives which you focused on. You said some reviewers don't mention or focus on the negatives of this camera therefore it's bias, but you are doing the same thing in the opposite, most of the review is the negative elements and at the end you 'briefly' mention the features that really are the star of this camera. In all honesty I've been watching reviews since the day it launched, it's always the same focus on these 3 things which I think it's user preference not a critical problem.. um like hardware focus issues with DJI or the still on going over heating issues with GoPro but hey, it shoots 5.3k lol. I'm literally mystified at some of these 'fanboy' responses. I could care less about brand, I need something that will do the job I want to with as little stress and headaches as possible. At the end of the day, it's usable footage which this camera offers and better in many ways. Loyalty to a brand gets you no where in the end, I learned this the hard way. Companies often get lazy due to customer's undying loyalty, I was once there also. Since the launch of this, look at all the reviews, bias or non bias, they all come to the same common 'ground' better low light quality, better zoom, better AI functionality in camera, 8k, pause function, better software integration and I won't even get into the gimmicky stuff. All these for ME is what counts, the other negatives have simple work arounds. I rather have something I can use and be happy with at the end of the day.

I find it a bit humorous that when there's more good reviews then bad for a camera is automatically accused of bias, paid, sponsored. By that logic, can I say that you only talk about the bad for this camera that you're paid by the competition? There's many sponsored reviews out there that also point out the negatives of this camera, how is that a bias review? Almost every review I've seen mentions the things you've mentioned here, it's always the same three: lens guard, flip display and the 10 bit. There are many definitions of actioncam apparently now, I've seen videos of this on a mountain bike, kayak, scuba diving, side of a car and lately someone who put this through a tough mudder race, it survived perfectly fine. Are we forgetting something here, lens guard wasn't introduced until the GoPro 5, was GoPro one to four not considered actioncams? I still love my GoPro 4 Silver, one of my fav 'actioncams', it's neither waterproof or has removeable lens guard.

The flip screen is for when used with a selfie stick and optional. And one can buy a screen protector for $1. Removable screen make waterproofing a challenge. Your video was only to complain about others being biased then you ony mentioned a few non-issues.

Hi Edwin, it is not a review actually, just wanted to highlight "as video title says" reasons why it's not the best action cam.right now working on a comparison video oa4 and ace pro. Take care ✌🏻

It’s definitely NOT a “game changer” - that’s just the hype machine. ALL action cams have a disappointing image quality. This is just facts. E-stabe is really horrid in general. The reviewers are all just looking after the hand that feeds them in the form of early access.

Hi Jeff, some reviewers are still ok but most of them are ignoring the downsides of the devices, not only ace pro.
According to image quality: in this small body they can not (yet) do more I believe.Take care ✌🏻

Hi @JoATTech, which image quality you mean?Thumbnail or Video?

@@wheelxtech I mean that non sponsored reviews of AcePro I've seen got much worse quality of video than sponsored ones.
It was the same case for Go3 :o
      No idea why :o

I don´t know :) I record in 4k, most probably sponsored reviewers have better studio, lights setup etc. most of them have over 100k subscribers and much more experience. I checked your channel, your videos are pretty good :)

@@wheelxtech I do not refer to any of your Insta AcePro footage because I think I haven't seen any :D. But it's not about Insta only. Also Pocket 3 got a bit better quality from "sponsored reviews". Maybe they are actually better that other YT scrubs, but in some cases their "low light tests" are not really low light.
I do watch some sponsored reviews just to see what features new products have, but never make an buying decision based on them anymore :D. Too many bad purchases :D.

Its an action camera without the reliability of it.Gopro hero 12 has everything you need and want.even dji action 4 is better than this but it didnt suit my needs

    • @wheelxtech
      @wheelxtech  9 месяцев назад +1

Hi @parthgupta4610 lot of people out there are ok with the issues I mentioned, they would be pretty happy with this device, it´s really powerful and has great features. hard core action people do agree with the downsides and they would pick another device without moving parts. I mean people should pick the best device according to needs/use cases. take care ✌🏻

Sir…. For vlogging, you flip the screen up and record yourself. For action;, you use it with the screen closed lol

    • @wheelxtech
      @wheelxtech  9 месяцев назад +1

@Kingofny718 Hi, it depends on the action and situation I would say :) I had many situations where the small screen of GoPro or DJI was a huge help.

@@wheelxtechinsta360 also has a preview watch that allows you to do front facing recording and still preview yourself while recording. I will admit that the extra cost of the watch is a con, but I have also seen people use the flip screen under water without any issues. Just like you said, it depends on the activity you’re doing. For most extreme sports, the flip screen and non removable lens is not a good selling point

I have experience with the Insta360 Go3 and flip screen without front screen is not cool. the combination "Flip screen with a front screen where you can see yourself " would be ok, without front screen, you are forced to use the only screen you have. Thanks again for your comment, take care

Or you dont need to flip a whole module and just turn on front screen of gopro or dji.much better than flimsy
