Hi David. I was following you on Crazy Guy On A Bike but you stopped posting your videos and now I just found you on RUclips so now I can follow you again. Last year during my ride I stayed in many of the same locations you and Paul are staying including the waiting terminal at Falls of Rough State Park Airport. I slept where Paul slept. Your videos are really good. Keep it up. You are having a great ride. Be safe. P.S. Those Kentucky dogs just want to chase you. If you just stop, the chase will be over and the dogs will have won and loose interest. Just stand on the opposite side of your bike and use it like a shield. Then just slowly walk away. They will loose interest. Good luck. Jim P.

I just (finally) got the CGOAB blog updated through day 51. Thank you for following my adventures and I hope it brings back some good memories from your ride.

One more question, David....why do you ride a recumbent verses a regular bike? Sorry, if this question has been asked before.

Rough River Lake is much lower than usual because they're repairing the dam. That's probably why they have the no swimming signs on the beach.

I stayed at the falls of rough in 2021 when cycling front New Orleans to Niagara falls. I had an encounter with an angry trucker that day as well. It's not that they want you to stop. They don't want you on the road at all.

Hello, David...I just found your channel. I have a question about where you stay at night...it's probably obvious if I watch your previous videos...but if you will...how often are you staying in motels and how often are you camping? And what is the average price per night for the motels? Thank you.

We camped a lot from California through Colorado, but the nights have been too uncomfortably hot (for us) since then to camp. Besides camping, we stay in a mix of Warmshowers, motels, hostels, and churches. We pay $60 - $100 per night for a motel, but split between the two of us it's easier to justify. We just finished a 14-day stretch of free accommodation from Missouri to Kentucky.

Yes, 18 Wheelers can turn you into a nice red paste. So let them pass, and stop for them if you need too. I live in a town where them rigs are every where. So I give them all the room I can.

Optimal pedaling strategies - enjoy yourself, but if you want the most efficiency, you are 'wasting' power against wind resistance when pedaling downhill. Yes - you increase your speed, but you lose most of that early on the hill. If you pedal to get you to 20MPH and coast, then hit the power as soon as you are on the flat or uphill - you maximize your power efficiency. However, you are also doing this for fun, so do what you want :) (but you did ask!)
