@@donaldist7321CZ will discontinue it and release a shadow 3 before that happens big sad
Most of my pistols are CZ products. When I was new to carrying (three or so years ago), I was reluctant to carry with one in the pipe (as many are), but am less uncomfortable doing so with a DA/SA trigger. My P07 got me there a couple years ago.
Out of curiosity, I fondled a CZ PCR at my local store a bit over a year ago, and it soon became my EDC. Among other things, I find that I prefer the decocker on it to that of my P07/P09.
Good thing CZ makes both!
I would by the PCR if it had manual safeties!
@@stever8776they have 75 compacts with a safety.
I have the CZ P01 which is basically a PCR with a rail. What holster do you use for yours?
Lock leather holsters for me.

Great review of ANOTHER superb CZ 75B design-based autoloader. For now, I’ll stick with my 75B and P07, only because - for my purposes - they are FAR more than adequate., in fact they’re outstanding.
Roy, since I don't have a 75 model, I think this will be my first. My P10S, C and F are fantastic.
Same here!!! p10F is a fantastic handgun!!!!! @@seanoneil277
These videos are one of the reasons I luv ya man. So far I'm loving my Shadow 2 compact soooo much more than my P-01 Omega.
Great review. Now all there is to do is a three gun comparison: that, the CZ P07 and the P01
Lets add the DWX compact in the list

Hahahahahaha hahahahahaha

25 years and going using Glock due to law enforcement work but now you have convinced me to get my first CZ for off duty carry. This is the first CZ that make sense for conceal carry. I watched a few videos and yours was the most thorough and made me a believer.
Thanks for all you do.
A model that has no firing pin block, is arguably NOT drop-safe, and requires removal of the rear sight to mount an optic, is the "first CZ that makes sense for concealed carry"?
@@asibley1864 who cares about irons when we have the rcr now
💯 agreed
@@asibley1864 You can carry it same as 1911 "cocked and locked" or you also have "half-cock and safety off" option. Both are drop safe.
look at the p10c
I picked up a S2C about a month ago and it almost immediately became my favorite handgun of all time. It was worth every penny and then some.
First day at the range with brand new S2c today. It was like going from my series 80 .45 to my P9s ( mid 80s ) . No comparison. Am still a little shy of the single action pull in the real world but surprisingly little grip adaptation time and it was like a cheat code tightening groups. Definitely my favorite 9 of all time. Makes me want to go shoot more. Definitely NOT a all hype.
Outlaw....your reviews are the best on YT🔥
Seeing the pistol pass with the sand is very impressive. I think it is realistic that a carry gun will accumulate some fine dust/lint into the hammer area of the gun. Nice to see there is a good chance you would still get ignition.
I haven't gotten a CZ yet but after this review this is the 1. #1 on my Christmas list. Better price by then thanks
This may be one of the fastest 2000 round reviews. I haven't finished the video but going to assume you really like it shooting it that much so fast.

I like it when my guns/knives have some wear on them because it means that I no longer have to worry about keeping them pristine and can use them like the tools they were meant to be.
Chris, I'm not going to lie, the extreme condition tests were almost hard to watch (When bad things happen to good guns 😳👍‼)! The CZ Shadow 2 Compact is number 1 on my short list for new purchases, so I greatly appreciate your indepth review and testing (plus seeing pond water eject with each trigger pull was awesome! (7:45). The content is fun and thoroughly informative. Keep doing what you do! 👍‼
I like the mud test, it shows that ever firearm has a failure point and you can clearly see the visual proof of it, even if it's a "test condition". Honestly the torture test videos can be great demonstration for that type of thing if not anything else. I also like the dragging behind a vehicle to accelerate the wear process haha
Another great review by you two. Love CZ. Can't wait to get this gun. Have a Shadow 2 SA and love it.
I want one. Already have the Shadow 2 and the P07........CZ is a top tier shooting experience!
Awesome review I don't feel like CZ gets enough press. Speaking of the P07, it's the perfect size and capacity. Great job!
You feel like the premier competition pistol doesn't get enough press? Come on...

Love the channel. Love CZ's. Would love to see your take on a top 5 series per caliber. Top 5 .22's. Top 5 .380's. Top 5 9mm. Etc. Etc. Keep up the awesome content.
Huge CZ I carry one daily Cz p10c but I have had and have multiple ones never been disappointed.I don't think they get the credit they deserve especially the lower tier cz like the p10c p09 p07 but I have found them better than a lot of firearms great review
Cz has always made excellent pistols. I get this a compact race gun moonlighting as an EDC but I will stay with my P01 with the Cajun upgrades. Maybe it’s me being old but I’m not a fan of the grip on the Shadow. CZ engineers made one of the most ergonomic grips out of rubber decades ago. I will stick with that. I will probably buy one when the price hype dies down because I’m a simp for Cz. 😊
Same. I can't see this shooting any better or noticeably different than my P01. I'll still probably get one at some point though, but only because I'm irresponsible with money.
I concure... Except for the part about the stock rubber grips of the PO1. LOK grips are the best on the market and have so many textures and colors that it makes the PO1 just pop! The Cajun upgrades are a game changer... And you can get the PO1 cut for an optic. I absolutely love my Cajun PO1!
75b original is flawed
@@timokane-vu3ks lol. Probably why it has been copied so many times. Nothing is perfect no matter what Herr Glock says.
@@fuzzyreticle meant flawless
I was incredibly impressed with this pistol, and I was able to shoot it more accurately than the DWX Compact… which really surprised me. The smaller fiber optic sight versus the larger tritium dial made it easier to shoot more pin-point accurate. I also felt like the single action trigger on the Shadow 2 compact was a smidge lighter than the DWX Compact, and I felt the Shadow 2 was easier to shoot well…. which I didn’t expect. That being said, I am more familiar with the CZ 75 platform than the 1911/2011… and this was just my overall impression after shooting them both back to back. I was originally a bit more excited for the DWX Compact , but was just waiting for the Compact model with the rail… I think I will have to order the Shadow 2 Compact in the meantime.
CZ has to be my favorite manufacturer of pistols. They just rarely miss the mark with their firearms.
I like your mud test that no gun can pass. There are a few reasons.
One, it's a constant reminder that EVERY gun needs to be maintained.
Two, it's good to see HOW a gun is likely to fail, especially one that is being considered for carry.
Three, one of these days, we might all be pleasantly surprised.
I've never had so many "Oh Wow" watching any of your videos than this one... CZ Shadow 2 Compact is such a great looking gun hence why I'm amaze you ran it to all these tests... I just got mine. Definitely I'm not putting it to this kind of test.. so thank you, validates my purchase. Thank you for this video/review.
Just picked up mine yesterday, have not shot it yet, but I love the feel of it! This was painful to watch, I was clenching my jaw lol great content. Mine was 1250. SO MANY GREAT comparisons, you really did us right!
How do you like it now?
@@bluyetiinc7553 I love it. It's my favorite carry gun. I modified it quite a bit. Lok grips, extended safety, new safety detent spring, single action trigger conversion with a flat blade trigger from CGW, Romeo X Red Dot, black mag release. I think that is all lol. Oh, Eemann tech slide stop thumb rest too. Trigger is pulling about 2.25lb.
@@MoneyShot_CM soundd like an amazing build. Well done.
Absolutely amazing CZ review 👍🏼👍🏼
I used to be a Glock fan….until I shot my first CZ and then Magnum Research and absolutely fell in love with the accuracy of these pistols !!!!! I own not one single Glock anymore. If I was in a position to use a carry weapon I wouldn’t use anything other than CZ !!
Looks amazing. Questions:
• Can a firing pin block be added by a shop like Cajun? The idea the gun could go off when dropped weirds me out. (I thought I'd read that's what comp guns without those pins are susceptible to)
• How does this gun rank against Beretta A1, Walther PDP-F for carry?
I second your second question.
Don’t expect anything less from a CZ. Love my P01 Omega from CZ’s custom shop! It’s my if I can only have one pistol..As soon as it comes down to regular price it’s a done deal
Cz makes great guns. Have a p10c and want to get my hands on the full size shadow 2 soon. P10c is my favorite handgun I own, I can only imagine how much more I’d like the shadow 2 lol
Can’t wait for the Shadow 2 Compact vs DWX Compact video!
That thing is a freaking laser. I'd take it over a high-brow 2011 and I love 1911's. The only weakness of the 75 platform is the small slide takes training to rack reflexively...unless you have a red dot on it, then it racks super easily, but you may have a harder time if you run it stock.
What high brow 2011’s do you own or have shot?

Always love your reviews Chris, especially on CZ. I am a little disappointed they discontinued the P-01 in favor of this and wonder if the same is coming for the SP-01. Of course, I am a P-01 (Omega) guy. The Shadow is competition, as I understand it. Why discontinue the tactical compact with a performance compact?
Only the P01 Omega is discontinued, the decocker-only version is not.
Super interesting. I wonder if it's in favor of the Shadow 2 Compact trigger? Either way, I appreciate the insight. @@MGMan37
I like that one too, always love the threaded barells
P01 and SP01 are the duty pistols of the 75 family while the Shadows are for competition. If anything, the standard 75s are the closest to being on the chopping block because the P01/SP01 are basically 75s with light rails, which apparently everyone wants.
That didn't take anywhere near the amount of abuse the echelon did . Great video, guys. Stay safe, and God Bless you both
that's cause we were testing a new optic on the echelon as well. sorry to disappoint
Some of us arent fans of gratuitous violence just because. I think it went through the realistic gauntlet for those actually interested in purchasing the gun. Which is kind of the point of his channel.
@HonestOutlawReviews it was slightly disappointing. I didn't even watch the echelon torture test all the way through. Because I thought it was too much. The thing is, you said you're unbiased. When to me that seems biased. You do a whole gauntlet of unrealistic tests to one and only 2 to the other . Too me, that's not unbiased.

Have both now, tho I still need to pick up my S2c later next week. For all the $$ I put into the P-01 with CJGunWorks and just added a Red Dot with them, I actually have more $$ in the P-01 right now than the S2c, sans a Red Dot I will add later and a rail light. Perhaps the trigger guard ergonomics might be a bit better with the S2c. I am hard pressed to think my P-01 is any less of a weapon since it’s got a lot of CJGW upgrades
I Honest Outlaw I love that pistol. I am definitely going to buy one as soon as I save up some money. I love your videos. They’re the only ones I trust on the Internet. I am seriously saying that from the bottom of my heart I love you guys you and your wife are so nice and trustable. Sincerely, William Boyle.
Chris always makes great videos that are bad for my wallet. I definitely want a Cz Shadow 2, but really wish they would make some variants in 10mm. Might pick up the Shadow 2c as a gorgeous range pistol, it's a bit too expensive for me to carry around. I wish they had 3 gun events out here in Pittsburgh area, I'd bet the CZ 2c would be phenomenal for that.
I think they have some in Deerfield Ohio. Look up Dynamic Shooting Sports.
I currently EDC the P07 and HK P30SK. This is my new dream gun......
One of the other cons that should be listed is holster support. However, I'm curious how it would fit into P-07 holsters - maybe you can make a shorts video about that?
It might lock into normal shadow 2 holsters if you already have one but it would suck to use the bigger holster for carry.
Had mine for a few months now its one of my favorites.reliability has been 100%
I love my PCR with the decocker as a duty/carry gun, but the decocker definitely degrades the quality of the trigger pull with more internal moving parts. To keep that Shadow trigger as light and crisp as possible they had to just keep it the traditional safety.
Love my CZ85, & the Rare Standard C75 with the SA0.
All the PO-1 compacts I have seen have decockers only would like to see one with the Manual safeties(same with the PCR).
This new pistol is on my must buy list. But I will wait for the price to come down. Or someone to change their minds.
Thanks so much for another wonderful review!!
Cheers
Great video. I do not like that manual safety lever being so small. hopefully price will come back to reality.
I have a P01 compact with the Omega trigger. Best trigger on a carry gun ever until I can compare to this.😊
Sexy gun, but I cant see it beating a P07 or P01 with CGW/CZC parts that will still leave you with money in your pocket and arguably safer carry options.

Nice review. I carried on vacation through the National Parks a P365XL with a 4.2" threaded True Precision SS barrel (without the peephole), a Holosun 507K on a Wilson Combat P365 lower using 10 rd. mags carrying 12 rounds with the Magguts and 147 gr. hardcast for the critters. Carried at the 3:30 IWB with a 2 clip Clinger Holster with comfort pad. Carried it on the trails for miles with just a shirt walking by people and it hid 100% thanks to the short P365 grip module. And it was comfortable, too. Carrying this successfully makes me realize I wouldn't want anything bigger or heavier, no matter how good they shot. I shoot the P365XL this way at IDPA competitions and am very accurate with the pistol. And no fogging of the lens as the dot sits at the very back of the slide, unlike my Shield Plus where the dot was not only unusable with fogging, but caused stove pipe mals with the spent casings bouncing off the dot back into the chamber. Bummer as I like it better than my P365XL...
It looks awesome and would be great for IDPA…but if I can buy 3-4 P-01’s for the price of one Shadow compact, is it worth it? Only you can decide that. In the Gun Tubber world 🌎 your channel is a level above the rest. Thanks for the great content 👍😎
One counter argument for that how many other guns you could have price of one.
How many guns you can actually use at once ?
Is it better choice to fill cabinet with guns which rarely see use at all or
buy couple bit more expensive which you will keep using decades ?

@Honest Outlaw! I think you should make a video on all of the guns (or just the top 5) that have passed the mud test. WE NEED THIS!!!
Thank you for the video. This is definitely one I want to get once the price comes down. I do have what's probably a stupid question. Is there a need to use the safety? The pistol seems similar to something like a Sig P229, a DA/SA pistol that has no safety. I carried that for a while and didn't think anything of it not having a safety. When I carry a 1911, I definitely do use the safety, but only because it's a SA only.
I just ordered one from kygunco for under $1,200 and it shipped today. I'm excited to pick it up next week from my FFL. Between this and my DWX Compact it has been an expensive couple of months.
Which one do you now like better? Do you carry AIWB?
This or a Cajun gun works P-O1 decocker? Price wise they come out to similar money.
Love the shadow 2! Glad they came out with a compact!
I want one of these for sure. I was going to get a p01 Omega, but I think I like this better. I will wait until I find one for around $1200 though.
First day at the range. Malfunction central. Failure to feed about 12 times in less than 200 rounds. Some times it was the last round in a magazine, some times mid magazine, some times simply when racking.

1350 for mine
I actually got mine for 1199 at my lgs, gotta love Iowa. I only have 700 plus through it but as soon as I find a good lefty holster for it it will be in my carry rotation. Love the review
Question - is the lack of a firing pin block something that should be of concern? For the full-sized S2 that is a selling point since it is a range oriented gun, but would carrying a gun without one concern you?
Yes. The CZ 75 was not originally designed to be carried with one in the chamber.
@@larrytucker1945Most CZ 75s have had the firing pin block since around 1994 so yes you can carry with one in the chamber
In anything short of military use or maybe police use, the pistol will never experience a drop where the hammer is impacted. It honestly don't see the lack of a firing pin block as being an issue. But some jurisdictions do use this as a point to restrict carry of non-drop safe pistols.
@@Uberragen21tell that to the RO who got shot in the face when a shadow 2 landed on its hammer

@@mfaracing Fact!
Man. I’d love one of these. I shot an Accu Shadow SP01 in USPSA for years and then an Accu Shadow 2. They’re the perfect pistol. Now the same thing in a more practical package! Regarding the safety. I had a problem in matches where when I was shooting multiple up close targets I tend to really tighten the grip a lot in my upper hands, and sometimes I’d bump the safety on at the absolute worst possible time. I eventually ordered one of the low profile safeties from CZ which solved the problem. It looks like what’s on the compact.
When carrying and thumbing the hammer for holstering, the only way to lower the hammer after loading is to manually lower the hammer on a live round. This needs a decocker option.
I would carry it cocked and locked like I do my CZ 97B 45. But I admit I don't carry apendix.
Have you ever shot a revolver??
@@awakenotwoke4830Revolvers have transfer bars, this does not. Also, this is a semi auto with no firing pin block. This is a DA/SA intended to be carried with hammer down, but do not carry this because it is not drop safe. If you’re gonna carry something cocked and locked, just get a Staccato C2 or CS. They are significantly lighter.
Do you want to ruin it?
Or here's a concept. Don't carry a gun made for condition one... Unless you're going to carry it condition one... 🙄
Love the way the camera picks up the trigger reset.
I am still a bit surprised CZ put this out since it is kinda in the same place in the market as the DWX compact
It exists only to fulfill a role in IDPA. It needs to fit in a small box for their divisions. Just because Chris doesn’t understand why it exists doesn’t mean this is a carry gun.
@@IHADANERROR I thought CZ SP 01 made weight and fit in box for IDPA.
@@RV7695 That's correct, the SP01 made weight and fit in the box for IDPA. However, it was discontinued this year.
I do think this will outlast the DWX because it’s less niche and plays to the CZ crowd. The DWX tries to play to the 1911 and CZ crowd at the same time. Good gun just too niche.
It's 800 bucks less. I'd call that a factor 😅

its essentially just a tuned up P07. Looks cool but for $1200 its a bit high. You could just get a P07 used for $400 tune it up with cajun springs , get it milled for an rmr and still probably be well south of $700
wish there was a decocker on it for the carry version instead of the manual safety or at least the option
Looks like a pretty damn awesome competition gun for some kind of carry optics use, or a general purpose trail gun.
Maybe I'd still go for it as a carry gun, but I'd probably be willing to trade some SA pull quality to get a decocker & drop safety.
Lack of decocker will have me staying with my P-01. Wouldn’t bet against CZ making this with included decocker conversion sooner rather than later. Also, Chris made the price comparison to the Staccato (or was it Wilson?) and so, being a more budget-minded guy, I’d have to make that same comparison to a P-01.
Great review. Gotta appreciate the time and details that went into this.
I grew up listening to Twista so the fact you’re shooting with him is dope
