Hey guys! So today we have a calendar that I was actually really excited for but...I just feel like something is lacking? FabFitFun typically has well over a $200 value in their regular subscription box that costs around $50 so I feel like a box with 12 items that costs $90 should have a bit more value. For me this one was just a bit underwhelming and a little disappointing but let me know what you think! Love ya💖
I agree with your candy rating unless it is yellow and a pineapple flavor. I love pineapple flavored candy. I hope you are having a good time in your honeymoon!!!
I can't believe that advent calendar companies haven't figured out that they should put like "big" thing on the last day. Time and time again, it's like a sponge, or a black eyeliner hahahaha. Like, throw an eyeshadow palette in there my guy!!
Right? Setting spray! Like, I kind of understand their logic with the setting spray, as the last item for finishing your make up, but it's not like you're putting on your make up one item a day until you have a full face on the final day. And it's just not an exciting thing to finish on. A coupon for 5% off your next purchase over $40, I seem to recall from one. Key chains seem to be another choice, but not a good quality one. lol. I think in this calendar I would have either ended with the socks or the tumbler. But that's personal choice on what I find interesting, I guess. In beauty calendars, I'm thinking it would be a serum or eyeshadow pallete, depends on the calendar type, really. I liked one I saw someone else do this season, where on the final day it just looked like a make up bag when you opened it, there was a moment of...oh...right..., disappointed feeling. But, then when she pulled it out, she realised it was full of more stuff. I think there was maybe 6 or 7 more make up items in it, which was better on its own than probably the whole Chanel or Sephora calendars last year lol.
Girl if you were mad about the Kylie value...I found a Feeling Smitten (body products) advent calendar that had 12 different sugar scrub cubes for $15. Right next to it was their bottle of 18 sugar scrub cubes for $10...I was livid
Trust me, sheet masks are NOT typically biodegradable. One went down my tub drain by accident and my plumber wondered if I was flushing diaper wipes when he had to unplug my drain. Never again 😂
Fun information, Lyocell is a form of fabric made from reconstituted cellulose fibers (basically plant/wood pulp). If it's not blended with synthetic fabrics, it is 100% biodegradable ^^
It’s so cute I feel like at first Wren and Tater were so confused on why they were getting treats randomly and now they know when they see the calendar that they get treats and show excitement! I love the bonus calendars❤
It was even more funny because it wasn't like the times whe she loses track, she actually said "So, anyway there we have day number 8, moving right along to day number 10" 🤣 Gotta love the goldfish (wedding) brain.
Thank you, Alexandria! Because of your series I am no longer tempted by beauty advent calendars! Best wishes for your wedding and safe travels on your honeymoon! ❤
You definitely need to come up with your own advent calendar. I know I would buy it! I am sure you would put all of these other calendars to shame! (Which honestly wouldn’t be too difficult:) xo
I just went to Scotland a few months back on vacation (it was awesome). Scotland is a great choice for a honeymoon or a vacation. My advice for anybody who hasn't been: If you are going to eat more than just a few pieces of shortbread there, buy the Tesco's store brand and skip the pricey tourist stuff. Pick up one or two shopping bags at Tesco's too, because the stores charge you for bags if you don't bring your own, plus they are a reusable souvenir. Don't be afraid to shop at the more normal-looking higher-end style stores for clothes as well; we sometimes found them less expensive than in touristy stores even when they were essentially the same (we got a shawl at a nice store for GPB80-ish, and saw the exact same shawl later at a nasty little dive for GBP125 - plus the nicer store gave wonderful service and even threw in a nice cloakpin for free). Finally, I love these videos! I'm not into makeup but I'm hooked on this channel. Thanks Alexandria for all you do!
Oh no, not Tesco shortbread, you have to go to M&S at least (we got some yummy shortbread from them last Xmas as a gift), though I guess it depends on how you like your shortbread too - I like mine buttery & melt in the mouth, someone else might like it with sugar on top. But I agree about skipping the tourist orientated stuff, but I think that's probably the same no matter where you go.
I’m horribly allergic to Spongelle and I didn’t want to deselect skincare so I emailed FabFitFun and explained the situation. They were so great about it. They have it logged on my account somehow and it doesn’t come in my box.
That's awesome, so many companies would be like "Well, sucks to be you". I have that issue with lavender, it really means I can't get any advent calendar without checking what's in it first and beauty subscription boxes are really out (ma y of them seem very fond of that lavender spray for your pillow. My mum & I have the same allergy, we can walk in a store and immediately know if there's something with lavender (y'know they put it in the microwave heat bags and stuff). So even if I got something is in a box, it will contaminate everything else in the calendar or subscription box for me (learnt the hard way). I've never got to the point of putting it on my skin, the scent of it alone is enough to make me pretty ill. Spongelle have quite a range it seems, but I wonder if they have a key scent that goes in most of them and that's why you had an issue, or is it was another ingredient other than the scent? I know it sounds weird but unusual allergies fascinate me. Partly the scientist in me, but perhaps also because I have a few of my own, like the lavender; hypoallergenic bandaids (plasters as we call them in the UK), ironically i'm fine if they aren't hypoallergenic; oh, and the more expensive a perfume is, the more likely it will burn my skin even if I spray it on my clothes instead of directly on my skin...I'm a cheap snowflake lmao.
@@hawkeyescoffee6399 I have topical allergies. It’s awesome…😒. I can’t use most lotions, shampoos/conditioners, soaps. It’s a nightmare. I’m also allergic to nickel so I have to buy either the really cheap nickel free jewelry that turns after like a year or the SUPER expensive stuff. As far as the Spongelle, I think it’s a chemical factor one of the minor ingredients so the scent doesn’t matter. I do love their diffusers though. (I recommend the rose). It’s a paper flower with a rope that sits on the ceramic diffuser and the colored water pulls up the rope coloring the flower. It’s beautiful. I love lavender. I suffer from migraines and I’ve been told that if I keep in my pillow it will make them stop. It’s a total lie but my bathroom smells amazing because I keep a lavender plug in there lol. It IS so interesting what causes one person reactions vs another, I completely agree. And perfume is a tricky. Some have such a high alcohol content they end up reacting so poorly on some skin. I have to watch out for really heavy thick scents because they’ll trigger a migraine and it’s now on me and I can’t escape the smell so it just makes the migraine worse. I always get a sample or buy a roller bottle(much cheaper) before I spend big cash on parfum ☺️
@@rosebud8162 I only used it..twice I think(it was back in my very first box) and the sponge itself was too coarse so I only used it on my legs. And I had such a reaction that I can’t weigh in on the dryness but I definitely believe you. I do remember liking the scent. It was a foresty type scent, very different. I like those kind. My favorite at Bath and Body works is eucalyptus and mint.
Niacinamide and zinc is my absolute holy grail. It's calming, it helps against redness and inflammation, reduces uneven texture and lines, it restores the skin barrier and brightens the skin. My skin is super sensitive and it took me forever to find a routine that doesn't make me break out like crazy. Niacinamide and zinc probably made the biggest difference, it's good stuff. The Glossier one seems pretty overpriced though.
I love so much that you filmed all these videos for us before your wedding, but I'm definitely having a hard time not yelling at the screen to finish the wedding prep and Scotland packing and that we can wait. Even though I'm sure you're already married and off in Scotland by now haha. Also, love how Wren always runs away with his treats. He's like "there's no way I'm letting Tater near this thing!"
I have learned from your channel never to buy the "grown up" advent calendars, but I love watching you open them! This was a fun show. This might be the first one I actually saw things I'd use - not for $90, but things I'd enjoy.
I think that blush shade name was supposed to rhyme, Rosy Posy, like the children's rhyme Ring Around the Rosy. A Rosy *Posse* sounds like Allie's worst nightmare, like a bunch of old rich ladies on horses chasing after you with rose scented beauty products🌹🐎🤠😱
I’m a “fuzzy sock with grips on the bottom” gal! It’s number one, two & three on my list every year! I LOVE the bonus calendar part, Tator taking Wren’s treat was hilarious!
honestly after sephora, chanel and all this calender is top tier for me. like when i see ONE day has a PAIR of SOCKS INCLUDING SCRUNCHIES instead of one pair of sock one day and one scrunchie per day i am AMAZED like wow this calender is so generous ☠
This was a fine calendar, but I think you’re right about the value being questionable. At least in the boxes you can do sone customization. I like that they had a variety of products though.
I don't get any subscription boxes, so I really liked this advent calendar, but after watching your videos for fabfitfun, I do believe that anyone who is subscribed already has all of these products. Or some variation of it.
The reason dandruff shampoo works on acne for some people is a bit gross, but there is a reason! Specifically, it treats fungal acne. It can be very drying to the skin, though, so follow with a good moisturizer.
This is, I think, one of the BEST Advent Calenders I've ever seen! EVERYTHING was FULL SIZE & either USEABLE OR GIFTABLE! NICE ADVENT CALENDER, no lil foil pkgs, or basically empty, tiny tubes! YAY! THUMBS UP!
I just wanted to say that I hope you have a wonderful wedding and marriage! Me and my husband have been with each other for 32 yrs. Loved every moment we have had and continue to do so in yrs to come. 😊
I totally agree that the container shouldn’t come cracked but theoretically you could still use it to hold like pills or something (or m&ms if your using for lunch with your ranch lol)
I think the one silk pillowcase is because most people just use one, for the pillow they sleep with. Because silk tends to be pricey. Also silver for Christmas!
I think it was a satin pillowcase, and maybe not silk. Most satin is made from polyester which I found out after I bought 2 pair of satin pillowcases from that Amaz@n retailer, and couldn’t figure out what the big deal was. A bit of internet research revealed my misunderstanding. I bought 1 silk pillowcase and it’s ENTIRELY different. Much softer, always cool to the touch. Now I have 2 pair of silk pillowcases and love them. What I found: silk is a type of fiber, like cotton or wool. Satin is a type of fabric or weave, like denim or double knit. Retailers are always looking for ways to confuse you or think you are getting something you aren’t.
i'm not christian, so christmas for me is usually just christmas movies and seeing family my aunt is jewish and loves christmas movies, this series is that for me lol
You’re such a sweetheart. I’m glad you and your family are better. Take your time and you decide. I’m here for the long haul. Prayers to all of you. You’ve been through so much in a short period, I’d prefer for you to get some rest. 🙏🏽🤗
Lyocell is a type of rayon (fabric made from wood pulp). Lyocell is a trademarked version of the fiber and is supposedly less energy intensive, I believe they make it in a closed loop so they reuse water that was involved in producing the fabric.
You can get Seborrhoea on your face as well & that’s probably why your dandruff shampoo helped, cuz it was indirectly medicating your face skin as well
As a Scottish person, yes it is pretty cold at the moment ! We’re forecast snow in the coming days too so you might want to plan for that!! Excited for you to see my beautiful homeland :)
It’s fine if you don’t bring much when you travel girl those are what the local shops are for! If you’re staying near Edinburgh there were tons of cute little shops when I visited over the summer!
Well, yeah .. It's not the most exciting calendar, but I have to admit - I would definitely use all of the stuff on regular basis. So, I say - it's a good one!
Yay! Another video! I love looking at you unbox all these beauty calendars. I thought this one wasn't too bad, at least it has full-sized items!! I'd love it if you unboxed the Yves Rocher advent calendar :)
I'm currently in Scotland (near Glasgow), and next week's forecast is for night time temps of -2°c, and daytime highs of 4°c here. It will be colder the further north you go. Definitely fluffy socks weather.
Thank you for inspiring me to redo my “look”! At nearly 60 I need fleshing up and you are just the person to motivate me! I have even subscribed to Boxy Charm! I worked at Neiman for 18 years right next to the cosmetic department and miss my fee samples the ladies used to slip me! Hope your wedding and honeymoon were magical!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Alex, I've had issues with eczema and psoriasis my whole life. My scalp is the most troublesome so I've used the "special shampoo" for years. After I noticed how great it was on my face I started to use it all the time. I rarely have breakouts or dry areas. _I don't know why it works, but it does._ I don't need to buy expensive creams or cleansers so I'm happy about that. Great content...love ya❣️
My all time favorite face masks are those Aceology Face Masks. I got a 5 pack with Ipsy (LOL). They are incredible and I swear helped my skin so much and every time I see them in Ipsy's pop up show or new arrivals I get them!
These are something I look forward to every year! Love the advent calendars. Also the shade name of the nudies stick is rosy posy like ring around the rosy pocket full of posy!
It’s so cold here, then insanely mild. Make sure you take some less full-on cosy clothes with you too - but you’ll still need weather protection 😂 The joys of Scottish weather
I had received that bamboo and keratin deep conditioner in my very first FabFitFun box which I received in Spring 2020. So yeah, I think Alexandria is right about them using excess stock in the calendar. For anyone wondering, I did like that product. It worked well, rinsed out easily, and smelled really good with a light fresh fragrance. It kept my dry hair from being frizzy.
Love your channel!! Just FYI... for the longest time, most mascaras contained coal dust. Not kidding!!😬 The thing is, it makes your eye lashes fall out and become much thinner over time. Mary Kay was the first cosmetics company that manufactured a mascara without coal dust. Thanks very much for your wonderful content!! 🥰🎄
I love watching your channel because you make me laugh. If I'm having a bad day I'll have to do is come and watch your channel and I'm in a better mood. I think it's really nice of you to donate to shelters. God bless you
Yay another advent calendar! It's always a happy time when I see a notification from Alexandria. 😊 Also in case it be of interest, MSRP is an acronym for "manufacturer's suggested retail price."
Hey alexandria! Wanted to say congratulations on getting married darling I hope that you're on your honeymoon. And if you are I'm sorry for bothering you LOL I just I'm so excited whenever you drop a video! Definitely one of my favorite fellow creators! 🥰 Now let's do this!!!
Fuzzy socks are my favorite they keep your feet toasty. You only need one pair with a good pair of boots or double them up for sneakers in cold weather. They are thinner and lighter than you think but super warm. I like a long fuzzy sock with a shorter one on the outside for cold weather. The long ones keep your legs warm too bonus. Dollar tree has good quality long and shorter fuzzy socks in multiple colours for cheap. Don't spent 10 bucks a pair for those.

Wow. This makes total sense!!

Key chains seem to be another choice, but not a good quality one. lol.

Right? Most of them don't even have to change the items, they could just rearrange the order you get things so the last day is more exciting.

Right?!? I had to rewind to make sure I didn’t miss something. Lol I love how chaotic she is.

One polyester pillowcase, broken cheap travel bottles… it’s like the bottom of a display box in a pound shop 😆
I bought one of those travel bottle sets from Primark earlier this year... sure it was £1-£2 👀
Your pups are so gentle, I love how they smell the treat before they take it. My dogs will practically eat my fingers 😛
I love these so much. However, I’m petitioning for Alexandria to add mystery boxes to this series. That’s where the value and good stuff is!
Got a 12 day Godiva Chocolate feeling like it might be a good one!
should be. I always look at the lindt one but never actually get it
take the pillowcase when you travel and it’ll probably be a million times better than any pillowcase at a hotel lol

my aunt is jewish and loves christmas movies, this series is that for me lol
this is the better box as far as variety and I love the socks too . A nice mix of things for all tastes and not red lipstick lol
You’re such a sweetheart. I’m glad you and your family are better. Take your time and you decide. I’m here for the long haul. Prayers to all of you. You’ve been through so much in a short period, I’d prefer for you to get some rest. 🙏🏽🤗
Love love her videos especially when it comes to advant calendars also Sophia Louise she's my other favorite who started the advant calendars.
The Space NK beauty and the cult beauty advent calendar is great this year, check it out!!!!!
Lyocell is a type of rayon (fabric made from wood pulp). Lyocell is a trademarked version of the fiber and is supposedly less energy intensive, I believe they make it in a closed loop so they reuse water that was involved in producing the fabric.
Love these videos. I agree with the ranch container idea. Brilliant. What was the $1500 value advent calendar that sold out before you could buy it?
I love that your doggos get a treat too!!!!! So cute, makes me smile every time!!!!
I agree! The socks were the best!
Using the travel lotion tub for ranch dressing is a next-level idea and I appreciate it.
I'm currently in Scotland (near Glasgow), and next week's forecast is for night time temps of -2°c, and daytime highs of 4°c here. It will be colder the further north you go. Definitely fluffy socks weather.
My new best moment of your advent calendar videos is seeing the dogs eat their treat lol.
Niancimide and Zinc serum is my favorite thing ever, really got my pores together and reduced breakouts
Lol!! I opened this calendar and loved it! It’s funny because I HATED the Target but I got comments about how people loved it 🤷🏻♀️😂
the P. Louise advent calendar is apparently really good
Every years I watch these!!!! ❤❤ PLEASE DO THE P LOUISE ADVENT CALENDAR!!!!
I used head and shoulders on my back when I was dealing with bad back acne so you're not crazy. Made a big difference!
I use to want to buy advent calenders until I started watching you unbox them 3 years ago. Now I'm so glad I didn't waste my money
I thought u would n excited for the travel bag bc u opened this before u left. And the socks would also be great for ur trip
I love those spongelle's! HOWEVER I buy them from the boxycharm popup shop for $3 A POP. So that's rude of fabfitfun lol
The blush is called rosie posey..... like the children's nursery song ring around the rosie.... that stuff lol
There should be more pup themed advent boxes ♥️♥️♥️
The dogs are always the real winners in these unboxings.
Omg I Love Ren and Tater 🥰 I've always wanted a Boston terrier! Soo cute!!!!
I feel like this was a pretty good one personally. As far as advent calendars go
I use those type of wine tumblers for hot tea....keeps it hot for a long time.
I like your reviews bc I can you are the kind of person that “knows a little about a lot” aka not ignorant, so I value your opinion 💖
Don't spent 10 bucks a pair for those.
not rainy just cold af. although snow in the forecast. we have about 0 degrees celsius. xx
