In all of my 65 years, l Have never seen such a beautiful couple. Never known a black man that has so much tenderness for his wife. Listening to him express his love for his wife and daughter is heartfelt.
@@shantep1592 When Karega was saying what he didn't know what it means to share your body and prepared for another person etc 30:14.....I thought....those were some of the most beautiful, supportive, compassionate, loving words I HAVE EVER HEARD. I felt exactly the same. And it made me feel more protective of my husband who lost 2 babies with his first wife, but never talks about it. So I really appreciate this couple sharing their story.
"My wife was going to be loaned to me for a lifetime..." the amount of love, awareness and humility in this statement....I pray we find a love so deep that we understand that it is truly a gift. Some people never find true love or someone who is willing to humble themselves to love you to your fullest capacity. This episode is breathtaking.
Karega is a brother I wish I had. His vulnerability and his love for Felicia is inspiring, and they serve as a great template for black men to reference for emotional intelligence and loving a black woman. Thank you for this well-documented experience. I believe I am a better man having watched it.

I watched this episode in absolute tears with my husband👼🏾😭😭😭. I have experienced multiple miscarriages💔💔💔, and have walked the journey as a Rainbow Baby NICU Mom🌈🏩🤱🏾. I am currently 39 weeks pregnant🤰🏾, and I take each day as a blessing because I know it doesn’t have to be this way🙇🏾♀️. This couple really resonates with me because they have a beautiful dance of highs and lows that gives me more love for my husband💕. I love how they honor their daughter and still have unconditional love for each other as husband and wife🤵🏾👰🏾. May God continue to send them comfort and love as they share their vulnerability💞.
Mama Lynette showed how to love and protect a hurting black man. I work in a Pediatric ICU, and just a few ago months a young black father witnessed his two year old pass from injuries sustained in a car accident. Minutes after he threw his phone against the wall and broke down. His nurse (young and new)said she was scared and called security...three responded. Trust me when I tell you we have seen more than a phone thrown against a wall and that's with NO-ONE DYING AND NO SECURITY CALLED! Thank God, my black coworker was there, (I was off) and intervened, keep security away from the dad and became Mama Lynette. Only after dad was able to talk, they found out that his wife who was taken to another hospital had miscarried and was in critical condition, was there an outpouring of sympathy--I guess they understood at that point SMH. Thank you for sharing Felicia and Karega.
Thank God for you being in that space/place at the time - imagine, what could have happen because that worker did not understand a person being scared and going through immediate grief.
Thank you for pointing this out. I worked in an ER for a brief moment. The bias towards black patients is real. I have had yt nurses tell me they were scared or nervous around black patients.
I'm.....speechless. The dignity and unashamed complexity of human emotion exhibited; the divinity of fierce love and compassion that radiates frm this couple; and, the Black royalty that this man fiercely and relentlessly exemplfies and holds for his wife/family...wow. This man and woman's presence challenges us all to rise to our rightful place as whole and royal kings and queens in God's divine and beautiful plan for each of our lives. May God cover you both, and any man or woman that comes against yall's union and growth be brought to nothing. God bless you
VERY WELL SAID!! Thank you for expressing so beautifully what I am feeling but unable to articulate myself for being overcome with emotions. This was so cathartic for people grieving, for couples in crisis, for black men, for us as a people; and at such a pivotal moment in our history. What a gift. Thank you does not express my gratitude, to Tommie and Codie and this Blessed Couple. God Be With You Always
When WE tell our stories, the TESTIMONY broke me down. I am indebted to this beautiful couple sharing their experiences. Love like this is the only love I desire. 🖤
This story has planted soooooo many seeds of faith, in love, in purpose, in calling, in being willing to do the work to love and show up wholeheartedly. Kamaiu's existence was created in such pure love and she has done what only pure love can do... it calls to the deep. She called me to address the things in the depth of me that has prevented me to live and exist in purity and realness of love. THANK YOU ALL so much for not just pressing into the grief but for also showing that love can exist in it, overcome it and conquer all things. With so much gratitude, S.
This may be my favorite couple/episode. They complement each other so well, the way the husband articulates himself is beautiful. The way he loves his wife truly came through on the screen and my favorite thing is that there was no mention of infidelity and “overcoming it because it made us closer”. That BS narrative has been all over the other episodes. Blessings to them as they continue on with their healing.
Let me say thank you! Thank you for showing black families who have experienced the loss of a child in this way. I admire their commitment to support eachother through such a life changing experience. My husband and I went through this with the loss of our triplets after 17years of infertility. Although 8yrs have passed and we have been blessed with our beautiful rainbow baby, I will never forget the vivid memory of grief counselors leaving 3 keepsake boxes on my hospital bed, walking through the hallway of the maternity ward to the car where my 3 car seats were empty, going to church and work for the first time, and trying to figure out my identity as a parent of three angels. Even now it is difficult to describe. So thank you... thank you ... thank you... it helps knowing we are not alone in our love. God bless this beautiful couple❤️🙏🏾
If and when they decide to try for they second child, i would love to follow they journey. I fell in love with them. So well spoken, his voice demands your attention. After i finish watching them on black love i felt i needed more. So I went back on RUclips and looked them up. When a man loves a woman, this is the result. God bless them.
I was in tears because I realize now that the grief I felt after my miscarriage wasn't actually grief... But Love that wasn't able to be centered on my son who is an Angel now ❤️❤️❤️❤️ #BLackLove🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
It's a ripple effect in the explosion that touches all of us. Even now, another layer of people outside of your family and friends is experiencing that wave of grief and love. This man is well in touch w/ his feelings and emotions regarding his wife and the deep love he has for her and their daughter. I can feel his love for her. Bless them richly Lord.
Perfectly said. I'm a part of that layer of external people experiencing that wave of grief and love STILL. Holding my 4-month old son tight and sending so much light and love to Karega, Felicia, Kamaiu, and everyone else feeling this grieving love. 🖤🖤🖤
I have never in my life heard of anyone speak of death in a loving way. I have lost so many people in my life at a young age. From my grandparents to parents. Whoa, this is healing and enlightening to me in a new way. Thank you, thank you! I feel GOD has a greater work for this couple.
Men who are willing to communicate, to speak from their hearts, are men who walk the path to heal so that they can help heal their partners. This is a beautiful couple and I love what you have done, Codie and Tommy, in capturing our people and showing that black love is real and that we do know how to work through our highs and lows.....with and in love.
It is so refreshing to see a Brotha to be so in tune with his emotions and know that it does not threaten his masculinity; it enhances his masculinity. POWERUL!
Soooo sooo beautiful to watch!! It is sooo rare to see a black man articulate his emotions soo eloquently!! What a beautiful example of Strong, beautiful Black Love!! Thank you for sharing this!!!
This isn't just an episode. This is a transformation. Not just a story, its an experience and a teaching. Feels like I went through a surgery and woke up a transformed person. Thank you to everyone who made this happen. Thank you for not diluting the message. Thank you. Thank you for showing us how God wants us to love just as Christ loves the Church. Thank you.
"Grief is love with no place to go." WHATTTTTTTTTT?!! Tommy is correct. I've watched all of the interviews so far. They have all been "meaty" and very informative. But THIS one, My Lord! The couple's ability to not only explain their feelings, but to become so aware of where they are in those moments, was the most inspiring. Grief is a part of the love cycle. It is not something to be buried. Amen
This!!❤ A realization that there is Privilege in having your kids get on your nerves, being tired and frustrated. Parents that have suffered loss don't get to experience those feelings. Thank you for this!
My husband and I just watched this episode in silence...just absorbing it all. This episode was profound. Wow. I'm amazed at the knowledge and depth of Kariga & Felicia as individuals and as one. This was a beautiful capture guys. Thank you.
This is a ministry, thank you Lord for this platform. You know what we need as a community before we even ask and for that we are grateful. What a blessing! The strength, love and faith of this couple ... whewww I’ve really seen love in a brand new way
From all the seasons I’ve been watching “Black love” I now understand what love is truly from this powerful couple’s love story. This is called “Phenomenal love” and I pray to God for all of us watching this to be blessed with a love like this.
This episode was profoundly beautiful!. This is just one example of the beauty of love, vulnerability, and strength. Grief is one facet of love, that doesn't get talked about. enough in our community- " Grief is love with, no place to go". Thank you for sharing #BlackLoveIsExquisite
This statement particularly grabbed me (much like everything else), "...My faith was a large part of learning how to love to Felicia. It had very little to do with my desire to do it well and more about recognizing that my wife was going to be - if you will - loaned to me for a lifetime..."
This couple is so precious!! They are so kind to share their story .... Black Love you all are a gift to black people! Thanks for sharing all our black love stories God Bless You ❤️
Crying real tears with this one as I've been in your shoes. I couldn't imagine not being able to hold your precious baby at birth. You'll never forget the pain, but will learn to cope with the pain. Praying for you both. Update: glad you got to hold her!!
I was not prepared for this episode...at all. Karega and Felicia elevated Black Love to a level no longer on the spectrum. I literally went there with them through every emotion they so courageously shared with the world. Your love, your life and your journey will live on forever. Your story will heal so many. Karega I’ve never seen or met a man who expresses his love for his wife and family so deeply. Your love story is like poetry. My life will never be the same. You all have given me hope that a love like this is real and men like you Karega, do exist. 🙏🏾
The fact that you two are able to share your moment in time with the world is a great part of healing. Baby Kamaiu was sent here for a moment only known by God, and her spirit yet lives forever known by many. My condolences to her family.
This couple is awesome. My wife of 28 years and I can relate to their story. We never had biological kids but were fortunate to be parents to two beautiful young ladies. We now have a grandson whom we adore. Pain is real, but love creates beauty in all things,
The vibrations that was emitted from these wonderful beings is amazing. It makes me want to learn to Love better and be a better version of myself. The intention and prospective of thoughts, words and actions were personified with this couple. Masculinity and true vulnerability isn't on the opposite side of the spectrum. It can and should be one and the same. So many of us are so afraid to show vulnerability it's a hindrance. Thank you to Codie and Tommy for creating this amazing work and thank you to Felicia and Karega for sharing their story. Peace and Wellness to you all.
This episode was powerful. That brother and sister were the epitome of Black Love. You could see it in all aspects of their interactions and you all did a fantastic job of showing the varied emotions and levels of love that abound in them.
Just finished watching this episode with my Mom and cried my way through it...It was very apropos that the episode was all about them because their story needed the time to unfold for us to fully understand. Felicia and Karega are a Beautiful Couple and I Thank them for sharing their story and Kamaiu with us...She was a Beautiful Baby Girl. GOD Bless this Family
Grief is just love with no place to go! WOW...SO POWERFUL!!!! I'll remember this until my dying day!!!! What a beautiful couple 💞 I thank them both for giving me a true example of REAL LOVE! I really hope God bless them with another child 🛐😊
This was the must powerful show that you have had this far. And this couple is one that will live out the test of time. I love them & the love that they have for each other. I pray God's blessing upon them always. I Thank You two for bringing them to us & for just bringing us this show period. Keep up the good work that you both do to bring us all of these love stories.
Black Love is powerful! To experience what this couple endured and still find admiration for one another? That’s simply God’s doing. The richness and depths of this conversation is so NEEDED! I’m grateful for stories like these! It makes me excited to meet the person designed for me.
I cried....I cried hard...I sent this to people that I knew could be a witness! This right here is revolutionary! It liberated a piece of me! I stand by this! All of this! Ashé!
My heart is soooo full tonight after watching Black Love & After Love. I’m So grateful to The Baileys for sharing their journey so vulnerably and honestly and to Codie and Tommy for the safe space for them to do so. You both are some God blessed individuals walking in your purpose. THIS is without question the best black love season thus far and THIS episode took the conversation of Love to another level, which we really need right now. ❤️
I cried from a deep place of hope during their episode... I want a man to love me the way he shows to his wife but idk if I could receive it properly because I would feel suspicious because I have never seen a man love a woman with this level of depth and intention... May God bless them...
This is the love that I can only wish too have...this has encourage me even more after 6 years of being single to continue to wait and never settle again .MY KING AWAITES ME AND I WILL BE READY...They have a beautiful loving relationship and this is the kind of relationship I yearn for❤️
This is emotional management and emotonal intelligence on display at the highest level. Thank you so much for being so vulnerable and articulate. You just thought us how to verbalize grief in a loving, caring and compassionate manner. We grief with you. Grief is not dread, grief is LOVE on display, love with no place to go indeed. I salute you. We are grateful beyond words can say, thank you for showing us how it is done, I mean the possibilities because everyone's grief is different. This is what my children and I needed to honor my late husband God bless youuuu all a billion times over. 🤗💝🤲🏿🙏🏿
Karega is a man who walks on another level. GOD bless them. What also struck me was his response about being expected to be Producers and Our existence as people of color on this planet 🌎 . We’re not ever given the liberty to express and just be---there’s always been racism, capitalism, classism that dehumanized us as people (walking, talking, living, breathing people).
Mmm grief is not linear..... that hit my soul because it’s a very profound and true statement.... loss my mom 3 years ago to cancer and at any moment it feels like the first day....
I have seen these shows before but THIS STORY was the best I have ever seen. I will send it to all of my friends and tribe who have suffered the loss and the grief of losing a child. We gained so much more by watching this episode. The warmth, compassion, care and protection of Karega toward Felicia. I watched the way he touched her throughout the episode and how Felicia looked at her husband with such admiration. That is what true LOVE looks like. All the men need to watch what Black vulnerability and transparency looks like. This is what love looks like when men are strong enough in their manhood to be REAL. To Felicia and Karega keep parenting on PURPOSE!!! This was EXCELLENCE Codie and Tommy!
There are very few times that I’m lost for words but this episode was thy most powerful, emotional, vulnerable, and thought provoking episode I’ve EVER seen in my life! I’ve had 2 miscarriages in my life and to watch a LOVE & FAITH journey told through STRENGTH and GRIEF was like NOTHING I’ve EVER experienced in life! I cried, and then I cried some more, and then when I was done falling in love with this couple, I cried some more!!! You touched my soul and that rarely ever happens because I’m usually the one who touches others! Even typing this I’m crying! I guess a part of me needed an outlet to just be present, grieve my loss (one very new), and be vulnerable! Thank You Tremendously I live my entire life hoping to hear God say: WELL DONE! Felicia and Karega: JOB WELL DONE!!! You have managed to heal and allow us to experience a new type of love! I AM ONE; again THANK YOU
I don't know why I happy cry when I see them. There love is so powerful you can feel it. I hope every woman has a husband so loving and caring. I love how in tune with her he is
Karega and Felicia were perfectly joined in every aspect of their lives. They embrace Emotions, love, healing, grief, they embrace the sad days n tears and move together in sync in joy. I don't think there'll ever be a story to surpass what their story has stirred inside me, I'll never understand this pain and the push n pull they go through day by day. My Prayers to you, sharing my strength and love . Thank you for being open to this, thank you for letting us in, thank you for helping the ones going through grief. My grief process was loosing the love of my life and after watching this I don't think I've fully grieved. Thank you. love from Kenya
I woke up to this episode playing this morning and sat straight up with my pen taking notes. When he said grief is love with nowhere to go touch me deeply. You all have articulated my lived experience in a way I am learning to show up and embrace. Ive been blessed to marry a man who came in and has parented my son along with me and my family after loss. Thank you.
They’re so present...I love this! I went to school with them but didn’t know them at the time. However, being close to people that have experienced them and knowing their story prior to seeing this, then seeing it being told the way it has, is just beautiful. Thanks for sharing to the parents and black love thank you for doing this for our people. We needed black love!
Wow that heart beat was symbolic of Kamaiu; she was present 🙏🏿. Thanks for sharing their story - society needs this type of genuine love, perseverance, and healing right now.
What a beautiful narrative of loss, grief, LOVE and life! This is so good because most times when a baby/child dies, the parents blame themselves and each other so much so that the marriage/relationship typically doesn't last. I am so glad that they took the time to sit in it and create the sacred space to heal. What a beautiful story! Thank you for sharing your story and for the producers who handled it with extreme care. May God continue to comfort them and turn their mourning into joy in the days to come. #BlackLove #BlackGrief #BlackLoss
I know this has been said throughout the comments in this space but this series is bringing us all as black men and women together in a needed way. Thank you so much for bridging gaps in certain conversations we are having and have not had. I appreciate you all. It means the world to listen in and be apart of this in a very personal way. I feel love, I really sincerely do.
Reading the comments and I’m blown away that we all FEEL the depths of Karega and Felicia’s love and understanding with each other. It’s honestly so amazing to see! ❤️ I hope they tell more of their story and help other couples/people find themselves
I really appreciate this. I am a black man who has been crying from losses since 2016. I appreciate the transparency which helps me as black man to know it's ok to be transparent. Had a stroke in 2016 and was left alone in the hospital. My wife left and my family distributed all my things as if I died and was buried already. Since then, I made the decision to rehab from the inside/ out. There were changes I needed to make. So my rehab is not only physical or biological but it's rehabbing morally and spiritually as well.
There's a point where a show becomes bigger than itself. This is that.

"Black love is a fine art" Amen. This couple is beautiful. Their love and strength are admirable.
My head, heart, eyes are so full watching this LOVE story. "Get rid of anything occupying love's territory."
This statement moved me. I needed to hear it.
"Get rid of anything occupying Love's territory"
I feel I must repeat it. ❤️
When he said “ the strength in gentleness” Kamaiyu gave me permission to do that...I’m her daddy. 🙌🏾❣️
So many jewels in this episode. Karega speaks so beautifully!
“Black Love is a fine art!” Yes!
Grabbing tissue... The work that you all are doing is so amazing. We thank you for showcasing BLACK LOVE. ✊🏿🖤
I love how tender they all talk to one another.
My husband and I just watched this episode in silence...just absorbing it all. This episode was profound. Wow. I'm amazed at the knowledge and depth of Kariga & Felicia as individuals and as one. This was a beautiful capture guys. Thank you.
The episode with Karega and Felicia was powerful beyond words.
It's the gentle way he protects her, for me. Protect them at all costs. Thank you Codie and Tommy.
It was “Black Love is a Fine Art..” for me. Blessings to these couples. This show is a tool of healing and renewal.
Love this beyond words.
This couple is so precious!! They are so kind to share their story .... Black Love you all are a gift to black people! Thanks for sharing all our black love stories God Bless You ❤️
Tommy and Codie gave us seats to see what we should be. Felicia and Karega is the formula to how we should be. Authentic arrangement on both parts!!
Crying real tears with this one as I've been in your shoes. I couldn't imagine not being able to hold your precious baby at birth. You'll never forget the pain, but will learn to cope with the pain. Praying for you both.
Update: glad you got to hold her!!
I don't know what to say
I was not prepared for this episode...at all. Karega and Felicia elevated Black Love to a level no longer on the spectrum. I literally went there with them through every emotion they so courageously shared with the world. Your love, your life and your journey will live on forever. Your story will heal so many. Karega I’ve never seen or met a man who expresses his love for his wife and family so deeply. Your love story is like poetry. My life will never be the same. You all have given me hope that a love like this is real and men like you Karega, do exist. 🙏🏾
My heart has expanded so much in receiving the words and emotions expressed here. Gratitude.
From Nigeria, thank you Tommy,Cody,Karega and Felicia for this incredible story❤❤
Pain is real, but love creates beauty in all things,
And during the episode when they sang, stand by me....I just broke. The love was so beautifully expressed in words and actions.
What a powerful episode. I really appreciated Karega discussing his grief so emotionally. Much love to this beautiful couple.
His love and his covering of her are examples of Gods magnificent love for his people. Perfect Love!
The most gentle truth.
I was not prepared for the knowledge and the gift of this beautiful story on so many levels. I am grateful💚🙏🏽
Ashé!
This episode was life altering and rich in astounding “love”... thank you!
I’m speechless, just sitting in the emotion of this episode. Thank you for sowing seed into all of us.
I cried from a deep place of hope during their episode... I want a man to love me the way he shows to his wife but idk if I could receive it properly because I would feel suspicious because I have never seen a man love a woman with this level of depth and intention... May God bless them...
This couple is so beautiful. Their love and vulnerability is amazing. God bless and comfort them always.
This. Is. Black. Love.
This is Love.
Their essence is so powerful. You see love, compassion, trust, faith, strength, and grief throughout this entire conversation.
The LOVE that they display and the LOVE HE display is AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL. I long for that type of love. I am in 😢.
Sorry for your loss. I agree with you, that statement is profound 🧐.
I hope this show gets an award cause it is soooooo good to see our stories being told by our own people 😭🥺💖💖
There are very few times that I’m lost for words but this episode was thy most powerful, emotional, vulnerable, and thought provoking episode I’ve EVER seen in my life! Thank You Tremendously
I live my entire life hoping to hear God say: WELL DONE! Felicia and Karega: JOB WELL DONE!!! You have managed to heal and allow us to experience a new type of love! I AM ONE; again THANK YOU
This one captivated me! I literally did not move or leave the TV. This couple’s story is so inspiring! Thank you for giving it the honor it was due.
This is so hard to watch at the same time so easy.. the layers are soo beautiful
Wow!!!! "Compounded Grief." Whoa. That is an awakening. That is so profound. Compounded grief.
This couple is so loving and inspiring I love The creators of Blacklove for creating this show and platform to show real love in our communities.
They articulate so well - it’s beautiful!
This episode of Black Love “Stand By Me” was extremely special! Thank you for sharing this story.
The power of love in grief that episode was so touching it took my expectations for love to a whole other level
This episode was soo emotional. BLESSINGS TO THE BEAUTIFUL QUEEN FELICIA AND KING KAREG. TRUE BLACK LOVE!!!!
