Cool plane my man! Just started studying for my ppl and just discovered this plane. I love it. What part of Michigan are you in? I grew up in metro Detroit and I live in TX now.
Nutplates and screws around the fuel tank instead of rivets? Do you really think you're gonna have to REMOVE that cover that often? Why didn't Monnett think of that? (Oh wait... am I supposed to call them Sonex? In my mind, despite the bankruptcy, sell to "INAV" in what? 1986?, RE-birth as Sonex Aircraft LLC today, they are and will always be... Monnett Aircraft to me! I attended the bankrupcty SALE at Oshkosh in what? 1986? and bought all I could! ) I DO approve of nutplates and screws if it really is something that will be removed often. I saw sheet metal screws much earlier in the build in a place I thought should have been nut-plates, but cannot at this moment where you showed them. Maybe wings? Did you go with the short wing-tips or long wing-tips? I am 210 lbs. But I wanna go with the short wing tips -- speed and roll rate are important to me!
Hi Captain T, I'm wondering if we could communicate with each other regarding our plane projects? I'm finishing up a Sonex Legacy with a Revmaster 2300 engine and would like to communicate with someone else installing and using that engine. Not sure if I should list my email address or phone number here?
