  • Here is a quick repotting video as I take a philodendron giganteum out of moss and place it into a nice aroid mix. I also repot a large anthurium queremalense and add a support pole. Enjoy the video plant friends!

    Those plank plant leaves are crazy big! I watched one of your videos from around a year ago and boy your plant population has certainly grown 😃

    I hope you enjoyed your holiday 🦃 with your family; thanks for taking some time to share part of it with us. I could watch your videos all day. I did a prop chop on my marble queen and put all the cuttings in a 4” pot as you demonstrated and it looks great! Finally got a cebu up on a cedar plank…looks nothing like yours but still very cute💚🙏🪴

      @@EverythingPlants I found some old bed slats in the garage as well. Perfect way to repurpose!

    • @chandell9545
      @chandell9545 Год назад

      Update: I had to sand down the slats because they were treated with a varnish, but I got a plant in a plank started today!
      Yesterday I found a golden pothos that had massive leaves and fenestrations at my garden store so I repotted it and put some of the cuttings on the plank!
      Looking forward to the results.
      Fingers crossed it grabs on to the plank!

    Happy late Thanksgiving!
    I may be secretly mad at you 🤣 my Golden pothos doesn't even have gold, and there you are bragging about your Hawaiian 🤣🤣🤣
    I'm loving that the plants are actually grabbing hold of the planks, I didn't expect that since they really don't grab on to the coco poles! My marble queen is going up the wall, I keep telling her to not attach, so far so good, I know I'm doomed.

    • @EverythingPlants

      @@EverythingPlants I am planning to get her one of those plastic foldable poles you have but the last few times I had money they were sold out of the larger sizes. I may end up making a trip to home hardware with the dog if they don't have them when I've got budget soon! My global green hit the floor the other day so we have some props going now on that one. It needs a pole or plank of some sort too! It's my fastest growing plant!

    Jeff, don't the wooden planks rot? I have seen some people place the plank outside the pot, but still, when it is watered, it seems as though it would rot out.

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  Год назад

      Hey Karen. I have another plank video coming out next week and I pull the wood out of the soil. Cedar is the best wood for this. I prefer the plank inside the pot and I don't have any rot that would cause me any concern at the moment.

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  Год назад +2

      Hey! Depends on the plant and your own routine. My pothos took to it in like maybe a couple months, but I have others like my philo verrucosum that never did secure itself onto the plank. As long as the stem is secured with something then it will grow upwards.

    Can you tell me about the planks you use? Type of wood? Size? Thank you.

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  Год назад

      You should use cedar planks. Without grabbing a measuring tape, they are about 3 inches wide and I'd say about 3/4 thick. I reused mine....some were off an old cedar playhouse and the other ones are pine planks from one of my kids old beds
