  • Raining morning. Waited for the rain to slow down before packing up. Had one heck of a storm last night. A lot of blown downs to maneuver around and over today but it ended up to be a very nice day. Was able to dry my stuff out some at lunch and again before setting up for the night.

It is very much appreciated but certainly not necessary. I have posted this just because I have had people ask about care packages or being able to send virtual trail magic. I’m just glad you are sharing this journey with me. That is plenty for me 😀

Ps: more solar flares this coming weekend (look for the northern lights if you’re out in the dark). 🙂

Thanks for sharing this. The day looked strenuous with the blow downs. You always seem calm and positive!

Thanks! The blow downs were something else. Kinda of fun trying to figure out how to get around them 🤷‍♀️😊

I fold my sleeping pad and put it against my back out side of my dry bag. Helps the back.

I have mine in the bottom. My back hasn’t been hurting it’s more my shoulders or hips

The first half of your day was quite the obstacle course. Way to finish strong💪 Thank goodness the wind storm didn't go through your camp.

I know, it was quite a storm and we were pretty lucky! Blow downs were both challenging and fun 😀

Hi Carrie!! You're doing and looking great!! I've heard you can place your folded pad against where your back would be and it creates a pseudo frame....just a thought. Keep up the good work!! Everything looks so green.

Hi Carrie, I don't know about you but I'd rather have the rougher or harder part of the day in the morning than in the afternoon. Put the harder behind me then cruise later. Besides, generally the longest mile of the day is the last mile before camp. Lol. Glad you didn't have any rain today after you started hiking. Ya'll are doing great. Take care. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.

I wouldn’t mind that myself and yes we say that the longest mile is the last one all the time😂

9-Lives is home. We were camaping and he stopped by for a visit. It was awesome to listen to all his stories. So glad you were able to video your moments with him. He's a good friend.

I hope you have that trekking pole issue sorted. I think you should be able to tighten the clamp so it holds better. With it coming apart like that - it could easily collapse on you when you're using to support yourself. Take care out there!
