I just seen it again last week took my wife because she never seen it before and it was good but not like when Idina and Kristen sang it. I told my wife she has no idea the voice on these two. They should both do the last show of Wicked on Broadway.
For what it's worth, they're doing this song a whole step lower than the normal key of C# on broadway. You can tell by the register... it seems more comfortable for her in Bma instead of C#ma. I like this version!
i have not watched the play, and i have only just listened to a few of the songs.however i read 'wicked' and am curious about the play.the book was, to me. a bit shocking...but very good (and abrupt in its ending)....this womans voice is bell like and lovely (and kristen as glinda is superb...)lovely post save the fan hooting (etc..)cuz thats just what you get with uncontrolled mike useage.thanks!

She won a Tony for originating that role! And she was nominated for a Tony in 1996 for Maureen in Rent! How can you say her acting is horrific? No one knows Elphaba more than Idina. She created that role. They wouldn't have cast her in it if she wasn't good.
