I just got dirt rally 2 running yesterday and its mind blowing! How does AMS2 compare? Is there a good career mode for single player longevity? Thanks bud!
Just got the game. No career mode, that's a long term goal. But the dedicated devs just dropped a massive update and are strengthening the foundation of their title.
@@alexsp7086 in vr you don’t need more fps than the device allows. IRacing indeed has good vr but the picture is bland compared to AMS2. That’s because of the nature of the engine. If you’re looking for immersion, AMS2 is the way to go

Big thumbs up for the promotion video! I hope that sales will boost and that AMS2 gets the attention that it deserves. Automobilista 2 is KING in sim racing, it's my only to-go sim. I'm looking forward to every update, especially everything regarding multiplayer(please fix the most irritating issue that you "cannot join multiplayer sessions in the last 2(6-7) min of quali" (which is 6-7 mins in reality, 2min before end of quali, then 2-3min extra depending on the track for the last quali lap, then 2 mins at start of the race) all online servers should be joinable until the last moment ! just add persons that didn't finish quali on the end of the grid), content and sound effects (engine sounds could be more raw) since all the basics are there now.
Don't agree about being able to join the lobby at last second. In my eyes everyone should set a laptime and will be allowed to take part on the race if his laptime isn't to far away from pole!
@@MetalSimVR BUT that's not the case now. A huge amount of the people that join a lobby with a short quali time just let their car stand in the pit stop and they just wait until the race starts. They also don't set a lap time at all and will start with the last positions on the grid. So I don't understand what this has to do with what I proposed regarding this subject? People are not forced to do a lap. So what is there then against letting people into the server until the last moment? There are a way to small amount of servers online in AMS2, somehow not enough people play this game online and in my opinion this is major issue that I described is one of the big reason's that people don't play online because almost half of the time that I try to join a server it's stuck in the last 6-7 minutes of the quali and then I'm forced to leave multiplayer again because at that moment there are no other servers online.

So yes that really is the problem with the game, there are a tiny amount of cars in each class and even with that many they are still not world beating standard. the reason ACC works as well as it does and is as successful as it is; is because they laser focus on one discipline and make every single car in that discipline feel unique, balanced, driveable, ive never driven a car in ACC and thought ''hey this feels wrong''. With automobilista 2 i will drive a formula car and it feels tight, planted, grippy etc but jump into a GT3 car and it feels loose, floaty, the tyres seem to glide across the track in many cars, especially cold tyres which cease to act like tyres at all as the car almost hovers over the track. i think what im saying is the games handling is extremely hit and miss with some stunning to drive cars and some absolutely awful ones to drive so when theres 2 cars in each class in some cases the mantra quality over quantity does not wash. i am a fan of the game though and i think they are on the right track, hopefuly 1.4 really does make some drastic changes.

Well done. Now a very reasonably priced sim has got steadily better. I must admit I was ready to give up AMS2 a while back but the addition of reasonably priced classic FA tracks and steady improvements to weather, VR and tire modelling has kept me interested in this title, and it's very impressive that the devs are constantly striving for improvements.
What a brilliant video, well worth the hard effort that undoubedtly went into it. This is the sim we've all been crying out for. Sure, iRacing has the player base, but these intricate pieces of simulation are what is missing from that game. Onwards and upwards Reiza, can't wait to try the update.
Obrigado! Minha melhor experiência em VR foi com vocês. Comprei o jogo há mais de 6 meses e nunca tinha instalado. Dei uma chance e já desinstalei o iRacing e o F1 2022. Não tem pra ninguém!

Super excited, looking forward to test out the new tyre revision! And please, even if this engine is already well optimized, add FRS and DLSS to it, playing on a triple screen setup is still very demanding!
You've come a long way! The update looks great and I'm really looking forward to it. Were any changes made to the HUD editor, especially when it comes to turn off unneccessary notifications like "best lap" etc. It's great you put some time into the interior details to enhace immersion but notifications always break the immersion...
Hopefully Spectate modes also improve ...Would Let Fans of all Motorsports Experince there own Dream season/Race Weekend from the comfort of there own home.
I really hope that along with the physics improvements … you have also updated the cockpits for the Brazilian stock car pro series ? Easily the best thing in AMS2 a truly great series.. cars drive fantastic always have been the best driving vehicle’s in the sim.. but have been immersion breaking with the cockpits being just a slab of plastic with the button boxes on the roof from the original Automobilista..? But at least in the original Automobilista you did at least have slightly more realistic cockpits with stickers on the dash to break it up a bit.? Sounds like a moan an it’s probably at the bottom of your list of priorities. Just seems like a straight forward fix (not an expert ) but truly love the series an it’s complete .. which is rare in sim racing… love how the cars feel in the sim .. just hate how they look in the cockpits . When you get a chance could you please update or dirty up the cockpits a little ? Make them more realistic? Thanks .
I have exactly the same complaint. The car models are the same as in Automobilista 1, most of the time, they deserve a nice upgrade to look good like Project cars or assetto corsa.
Idk why but I really need to see the flags waving along the track to complete that immersion feeling for me. Add that and this game is my ultimate favorite. But even still this title is top of my faves and I think will continue to be for years to come. Much love
I really hope some day we will see road cars (and some low performance vintage race cars) - with fluids' temperature being crucial to manage if you want to finish the race, when brake fade drastically affects your lap time and road tires overheat extremely quickly and start losing performance after 1-2 laps.
Just had a quick play with default and Rfuktor FFB tended toward default , FFB Strength has increased as far as I can tell and oval racing was great straight out of the box. Yes I was last but not by as much as I expected for 100,100 ai and aggression.
Bought it again today after buying it about 1.5 years ago (then got a refund), it’s now impressive some of the cars still need updating hope all content gets a good check/updating where necessary, I’m now recommending it to my predominately Iracing pals Thanks for your hard work keep it up , with more updates AMS2 really could be one the one sim that beats all Good amount of content in the base purchase I’ll grab the pass soon
At this tempo of updates this will be the best moto Simulator in near future, I switch from AC (my pemanent sim) Around 3K hours to AMS2 cause its feels more and more update after update more solid and stable, yes AC has mods and thats make it popular, but AMS developer bring top notch telemetry at insane tempo. Good Job Reiza ! Simply perfect !
Love this game can't wait to play v1.4! However as a vr player I hope they will implement dlss and amd fsr 2.0... and the 2d trees... I hate the 2d trees that turn their face towards to in your peripheral vision. Wish they could also implement 3d trees but its unlikely I guess.
ONLY the trees that are very close to the track (such as the trees at Bathurst and Imola for example) should be 3D. That would be great. All other trees in distance should be kept 2D because level of detail pop-in(as in ACC, looks terrible) would be even way worse then 2D trees and to many 3D trees could ruin the performance. So all trees in distance should be kept 2D because the current trees in distance look great and are great for the game's performance. Maybe something different is possible, that the trees rotate "partly"/less the now the case is, maybe that would be enough to make it look better. The same goes btw for the skies/clouds, with light/medium could (don't know exactly which setting) there is almost always one to 3 big cloud(s) moving above you in VR which moves together with the camera, that really ruins the immersion for me. Especially the cloud that is direcly above you at the start of a race when you look up. I hope that these strange clouds will be removed/fixed in a future update.
@@pequenobender I am also a VR player and I don't fully agree with this. DLSS ruins the experience always in VR, it always give a terrible ghosting/artifact effect which is very visible in VR (as you can see in for example ACC). So I see zero benefit of having DLSS, I won't enable it. And OpenXR toolkit has fixed foveated rendering plus FSR, this gives WAY more performance then FSR 2.0 alone(mainly because of the SteamVR bypass by OpenComposite+Fixed Foveated Rendering of course). If you haven't tried it: Do it now, OpenComposite+OpenXR toolkit is the best thing ever for VR/AMS2. But maybe OpenXR toolkit with FSR 2.0 instead of normal FSR would be nice, but mbucchia(from OpenXR toolkit) says about FSR 2.0: 1. Requires the app to provide depth information. 2. Requires to compute optical motion vectors. Can be recomputed but expensive, likely will reduce the performance gain. 3. (predict) Requires to inject sub-pixel jitter. Not even sure this is possible outside of the game engine. So I don't expect that there will be FSR 2.0 for AMS2 ever. I see much more in improved shadows, the shadows currenly don't have MSAA support from what I see. They look really rough on the edges, the shadows should have way more smoothing on the sides. This will really help the shimmering in VR. I hope that Reiza gets this on their agenda one day: smooth edges+anti aliasing on the shadows.

It’s one of the most optimised vr racers…. With open XR I can have decent mix of high settings on reverb g2 at 100% at 90fps during day. Night time agreed things not good. If u want to see what a bad vr title is check out acc…..awesome game but vr sucks…
@@SlowBloke123 thats the thing, i would normaly agree with you if you compare day time and clear weather, AMS2 is super optmised and ACC is kinda crap, but if we compare rainy settings, in ACC I have almost the same FPS in rain and storm as during clear day, in AMS2 i have 50% of FPS in rain, so i cant agree with you on this entirely. in ACC I use 1 setting of low-mid and few HIGH and i dont change it, works in all weather and is stable for me, in AMS2 i either have smooth experience or i cant race at all once it starts raining.
Things I’d like to see implemented into AMS2. 1. Less under/over steer. So more grip in / out of the corners. The cars need to feel more heavy and less floaty. 2. In the car selection screen. Id like to see A favourites section so we can pick our most used cars quickly. 3. On the last 1-3 laps in a race , I’d like to see the A.I push harder (like in codemasters f1 series ). It makes the end of the races more exciting and rewarding. 4. Tighter , closer races with the A.I. The a.I. Cars bunch up into groups of five. It’s not realistic.

Releasing it tomorrow... a Saturday! Thank you way to knowing your customers!!! Can't wait for tomorrow after watching F1 Spa qualifying and F2 Sprint race then I'll be racing.
New Spa right on time for the Grand Prix, that's awesome
I really love this sim, I think you're doing great work. Honestly right now I've uninstalled all my other sims so I hope you bring more DLCs down the line!
Keep up the hard work & big updates coming , this will then become the go to sim in 2023
Excellent video. Good PR goes a long way.
Best racing sim to play in VR due to the optimized performance
I'm looking forward to this release!
AMAZING SIM.. can we expect a competition system similar to I Race Room or I racing?
This update looks soo good! Well that's my Saturday night accounted for...
Glad I decided to get all the DLC available while on sale.
I love how AM2 runs so smooth on my gtx1080 and ryzen 1700. best immersive sim so far bravo
Its already Saturday afternoon in Australia, so, feel free to release it downunder..
Ha just going to bed here in Canada :) it’s like Christmas friggin eve!
My go to sim everything about AMS 2 is great. Thanks Reiza
What a great overview video. I just love the game which offers so much more than any other sim. Can't wait for the new Indy Cars. Keep up the great work.
Killer.
Good to see Reiza taking a next step in marketing.
So ready for this update today i cannot wait
Super excited, looking forward to test out the new tyre revision! And please, even if this engine is already well optimized, add FRS and DLSS to it, playing on a triple screen setup is still very demanding!
What a beauty update
Thx Reiza
You've come a long way! The update looks great and I'm really looking forward to it. Were any changes made to the HUD editor, especially when it comes to turn off unneccessary notifications like "best lap" etc. It's great you put some time into the interior details to enhace immersion but notifications always break the immersion...
Hopefully Spectate modes also improve ...Would Let Fans of all Motorsports Experince there own Dream season/Race Weekend from the comfort of there own home.
What a surprise to see that you are now Reiza's embassador in US! Congratulations.
To increase the immersion in VR why not add the possibility of seeing parts of your own car and yourself reflected in the mirrors?
Looking forward to blowing multiple engines.
1.4 are the biggest and most important patch of the simulation. That's next level.
Idk why but I really need to see the flags waving along the track to complete that immersion feeling for me. Add that and this game is my ultimate favorite. But even still this title is top of my faves and I think will continue to be for years to come. Much love
Good day to get back to simracing :)
It's time to jump back in!
I really hope some day we will see road cars (and some low performance vintage race cars) - with fluids' temperature being crucial to manage if you want to finish the race, when brake fade drastically affects your lap time and road tires overheat extremely quickly and start losing performance after 1-2 laps.
🏎🏎🏎Great vid Rieza. Longest night of the year for you folk. Insomniac dev's. Glhf after release
One of the best SIM games till date!
Awesome work guys, keep it up!
Just had a quick play with default and Rfuktor FFB tended toward default , FFB Strength has increased as far as I can tell and oval racing was great straight out of the box. Yes I was last but not by as much as I expected for 100,100 ai and aggression.
Bought it again today after buying it about 1.5 years ago (then got a refund), it’s now impressive some of the cars still need updating hope all content gets a good check/updating where necessary, I’m now recommending it to my predominately Iracing pals
Thanks for your hard work keep it up , with more updates AMS2 really could be one the one sim that beats all
Good amount of content in the base purchase I’ll grab the pass soon
Hey Reiza.....bit for bit and byte for byte you won our Racingssouls. What you done with the madness engine is unbeliveble.
Thanks reiza for constantly enhancing this awesome game 👌🏻
Amazing job, GG Reiza team !
Great job Reiza. AMS 2 needs Copa Petrobras, Superturismo, NASCAR, and some street tracks like Surfers Paradise, Detroit, Toronto, Singapore
Wowwww. Graeat Reiza and great Tom🤙😊
"However as a vr player I hope they will implement dlss and amd fsr 2.0" Agree.. And option to disable crowd IN VR.
I think they said a combination of 2d and 3d trees looked terrible in practice due to inconsistency
@@turbohenk702 how do I enable openxr? I'm running an rift s through steamVR. I saw a toggle in steamVR settings but wasn't sure if it was that easy.... thanks!
UAU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ansioso demais ...
Really hoping u can do something abour the VR rain performance issues that are in VR it's unplayable even on rtx 3090 with low settins, rain fucks up whole race in VR . poorly optimised, please fix that :(
I agree..
It might be more CPU than GPU. But rain & night is causing problems in a lot of Sims. I just adjust to suit. Open xr might help better than steam.
@@ozziecoops i am not sure if i can try some of the tweaks and oxr etc as I am using Quest 2 via cable and rendering via Oculus VR
Finally coming out of beta, exciting.
Excellent game, very underrated. This game NEEDS an offline mode like a career mode or something, there are very few people connected online, there are more in Forza Motorsport 7 unfortunately.
