Literally my favorite theme when I heard it as a kid. When I got to this part in the legacy collection, I was just head banging and tapping my feet. In my opinion, X4 has the best sound track in the series. X5 is also good and I haven’t gotten to 6 and 8, but 4 will always be my personal favorite.

X4 really is a special game. Everything about the game feels so polished and filled with love and care, and the stage select is no exception. The soundtrack in general is really unique compared to other X games, having a distinct sound to it which the later PS1 titles didn't seem to quite get down in the same way. The stage select, for as short as the loop is, is no exception. Of all the 3 games on the system, this one feels like it gets down that sense of urgency mixed with hope the most. The gorgeous pixel art only aids things even more. Sucks that this is basically the last really good X game before the series began to kinda go off the rails in quality.

LOVE this theme! X4 is my favorite gameplay and music wise. It was hard to pick between X4 and X5 because there are lots of cool tracks in X5 as well. Like X Vs Zero, Zero Virus Stage 2, the Japanese intro theme featured only in Rockman X5. X4 was perfect, both of the main characters lost someone they trust or they love... Also I enjoyed the anime cutscenes in X4.

The bottom row looks so bad ass with their mug shots compared to the top Mavericks
If they did not have Dragoon in the top row it would had been a total blowout but even with the handicap that Split mushroom is, it is still a no contest.
Agreed and with Split Mushroom at least they got a side shot of him which makes it look a little more intimidating.
@@BASEJOCK11 it would have been more balanced if they had separated the two bird mavericks, but this is still one of the best selection of enemies in MMX series, besides that the music and the scenarios are awesome, a truly A-class effort all around
