They just said that since we were close to using up the bread in that lot, that it must be fine because we never received any complaints. Food safety is slipping in the US.
i work at a plastic company that makes tv dinner trays, and we have higher standards than that (the manual packets could face jail time if a hunk of plastic from the trays were to cause choking, bc they're supposed to tap and check them for plastic slivers, flaws, etc), which is kinda crazy, you'd figure it'd be the same for actual food companies if our company providers find a loose hunk of plastic in a tray, or if several releases are flawed and qa doesn't catch it on time before shipment proper, several months of product can to be put on hold to check them/verify they're all clean
I live in another country and jealous about certain things the US offers but man… the food standards are horrifying even for something as basic as eggs. I don’t think I would want to live there over my current country based on that.

I think the reason the Meiwes case is indefensible is because a reality where the ruling that it was mutual and consentual is upheld and defended would have many instances where a predatory person could just manufacture or fake a potential victim's consent, and after the deed is done there wouldn't be a victim around to say "no, I fucking didn't consent to being murdered and eaten." So there would be nobody to contest the offender in court as long as they have a strong enough illusion of consent from the victim. Society would have a lot of murderers and cannibals getting away with indulging their evil impulses scot free, and that doesn't even get into the precedent that could set for other crimes and legal engagements. It's just a can of worms with no fruitful or sincere reason to be opened. Personal liberty isn't even a factor.
You could also have issue where a person is manipulated into believing that they want to be eaten, a person with mental disorders, substance users, young people, etc. So basically the killer taking advantage of someone to get what they want.

Help me Whang, your my only hope! For the past while I've been looking for some lost media from my childhood. I'm confident that I didn't just make it up in my head. In my youth i remember a commercial for National Geographic that featured the song Turn Turn Turn. This was in the late 80's perhaps early 90's. part of my problem with the cursed images sub is the formulaic title requirements. i don't really like when any sub requires titles to be formatted in such a specific way but especially for that sub i feel like it takes away part of the mystique of the images somehow. i much prefer no caption at all or just a number like the twitter page did. unfortunately i think this is a problem that kind of can't be fixed since you have to title your posts on reddit and letting the titles be a free for all would probably just be even worse, but idk i think it just kills a little bit of the inscrutability that made the twitter and tumblr accounts so great.

In my youth i remember a commercial for National Geographic that featured the song Turn Turn Turn. This was in the late 80's perhaps early 90's. This was not your typical commercial of 30 seconds, but rather the entire song by the Birds. The images and video in my opinion perfect for the song. I've looked everywhere for it and it's like it just never existed. I have a feeling it has been erased due to copyright with the song. Perhaps now that Disney owns NatGeo they had no choice but remove it from online. This might explain why NatGeo no longer mention it, even though the commercial I believe won some advertisement awards. But that doesn't explain why I can't seem to find other sources that would mention it or have a recording of it.
Your the only person I can think of that has the skills to find out the truth.

part of my problem with the cursed images sub is the formulaic title requirements. i don't really like when any sub requires titles to be formatted in such a specific way but especially for that sub i feel like it takes away part of the mystique of the images somehow. i much prefer no caption at all or just a number like the twitter page did. unfortunately i think this is a problem that kind of can't be fixed since you have to title your posts on reddit and letting the titles be a free for all would probably just be even worse, but idk i think it just kills a little bit of the inscrutability that made the twitter and tumblr accounts so great.
