Why are you using Substance Designer to create bakes, can't you do a similar thing it in substance painter? I got lost in this part. Thank you so much for all of this!
I like to play around with different workflows. In Substance Designer, you can use all the nodes, which gives you different results compared to what you get in Substance Painter.
@@brainchildpl thank you so much for such a quick answer, meanwhile i found out another video of yours that you don’t use designer. Now i got it. Do you know any good resources to learn designer? Or is there a tutorial for this, i can’t really understand what are you doing
Like it. Thanks. A question: I saw that you used the Subdivision for the models. I think they're not Low Poly anymore, right? Or maybe you will make the low poly from them later?
I just find out about you, i watched a lot of your videos, you are really doing a very good job. I have a question tho, i am trying to learn designer but im struggling. Any good videos?
Buy every "Fundamentals" tutorial from Daniel Thiger www.artstation.com/a/2472636 This is really good - I learned a lot of things from his tutorials. :)
how do I separate leaves from a branch to texture in substance painter? The mesh is just a 2d plane, so I can't apply a separate material to the areas.
@@teamtomii I bake my high poly meshes onto it. It is an unwrapped low poly model. Once the high poly details are baked onto it, I cut out each plant from the flat plane and start giving them more shape.
@@brainchildpl Ah I see! I'll watch it again closely and try to follow along. I've wanted to learn how to make 3D environment art for a while now. I've made a high poly rose that I want to simplify so it could be used in a game, maybe I can apply some of your techniques for it.
that's actually one of the tutorials which has really correct title and content
good job
Glad to hear ! Enjoy!
I'd like to request a 4 hr long Udemy tutorial about this where you do an explain the whole thing in detail :D
Noted! :)

I bake all the details from the subdivided model to the flat plane model, and then create low poly (game ready) assets from it. Wait for Part 2 :)

@@brainchildpl okay thank you, means a lot.
Are you using substance painter to get the maps together? This is all very instructive, thank you!
I use both Designer and Painter to get the maps together ;) thanks!

Not sure what you mean? Do you want to make a 3d mesh for the branches and texture it separately?
Why is that big plane added behind the assets?
The plane I used as a low poly baking mesh?
