I definitely thought Ocean’s Thirteen was a lot better than Ocean’s Twelve. It’s difficult to explain why, but I just like it way more

Yeah oceans 13 is more simple and focused like 11 so I definitely found it a little better than 12 but still, all of the movies are great.
It's dialogue is quicker and snappier, it's pacing more succinct. The character motivations are a lot clearer and make more sense.
Aside from the french guy in 12, I didn't understand what was driving the characters to act and make the decisions they were making. We also didn't see much heist stuff at all.
They even fast forward through the first heist for some reason. If the audience doesn't even understand what is going on, it's hard to even get invested enough to care. The other oceans movies are very simple, clear and easy to follow along

I didn’t like how the ending was executed it was kind of like “oh well we actually DID beat you” and it was a quick montage of them switching out the egg. It felt like the main thing was almost skipped over and the thing they spent the most time on was fluff
I remember watching Oceans 11 when I was 14 just expecting some funny heist movie but was amazed at how well made it was and how well the movie flowed.
Ironically, I love Oceans Twelve because of the locations. It felt like I was taking a vacation all throughout Europe. I especially love the scenes in Cuomo Italy.

Oceans 12 rewatch gets better and better similar to midnight in Paris with the beautiful shots and writing. Lines slap every time
Yes. I watched oceans 11 tonight and did a double feature to watch 12. I actually enjoy all of the oceans. 11 is my clear favorite but the rest are still really enjoyable to me.

The setting, the stylistic choices in the film-making, the fucking music! and i love the story between Toulour and Ocean having a competition to see who's better, Isabel and Rusty's relationship, so many nice little twists by the end of the film as well, Ocean's 12 is just too good imo and one of a kind.

I just finished the main trilogy and *Ocean's Twelve* definitely is my favorite.
I loved Julia and Catherine Zeta-Jones in it. I wish it had 2h30min to show more of the smaller characters from the team, more tiny silly jokes, more moments between them in general

Any second in the original trilogy is better than the whole Ocean's 8, I even forgot what it was about, such a forgettable movie.
For me oceans 12 just wasn’t good for some reason felt watchable but that was about it. Ocean’s 11 to me is a cinematic masterpiece, oceans 13 was very good and oceans 8 was a nice easy watch

I'm pretty sure that Eiichiro Oda got inspired from Ocean's 11 when he wrote the part in Alabasta arc. When Sanji rescued Luffy, Nami, Usopp, Zoro, and Smoker trapped in a cage in Rainbase.. That's the vibe that I got.. The style's the same, he wrote the explanation in a short backstory, and the Rainbase(Crocodile's base) itself is set as a casino. And Oda made a cool plot right there just like Ocean's 11.
1. Ocean's Eleven: Easily the best one. I remember watching this when I was very young and thinking how cool Danny Ocean was. Watched it again when I was older and loved it. It's about time I saw it again.
2. Ocean's Thirteen: It's been a few years since I've seen the Ocean's Trilogy. I'm hoping they have a boxed set once Eight hits DVD. I'll personally take a well-made, enjoyable film that retreads old ground over a film that takes risks that I don't think end up paying off. Plus how can you go wrong with Pachino?
3. Ocean's Eight: I just saw this movie tonight and it keeps getting better the more I think about it. It could honestly swap with Thirteen, but I remember liking Thirteen a bit more. This Ocean's franchise is pretty consistent usually. Sandra Bullock and especially Anne Hathaway have been some of my biggest celebrity crushes of all time most of my life so I certainly loved seeing them. Can't wait for the sequel.
Ocean's Twelve: I don't know what happened here. Usually, if I like a franchise, I can find enjoyment in all of their films. Even the weaker ones. I can enjoy the Star Wars prequels, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull etc. But there are a few films in franchises that I otherwise love, that I just hate. Shrek the Third, Justice League, and Ocean's Twelve to name a few. I remember being so excited to see this after rewatching Eleven and being so disappointed. It's the only time I saw it, so I'll rewatch it once I get the boxed set. But I remember hating this film. I respect the effort. But it didn't work for me. Glad it did for you though!

I truly wanted to see Benedict go off but he did more sitting back & we got a deeper dive into Rusty’s persona & we still get all the boys doing their roles again but this time not for a job just to save themselves
I must say that I heavily disagree with your opinion. That's fine, I understand it. However, for me, being a person from Europe and French descent, I really enjoyed Oceans Twelve. It had the humor, the beautiful scenery and explored different concepts as a franchise. I must say, some film companies are simply too scared to explore different themes which makes films for me, boring. In this film, they used different themes of love and romance with Rusty and Izzy, which wasn't used throughout the other films. They had some very memorable moments. Easily for me, the best one out of the four. Oceans 8, for me is simply tacky, unoriginal and boring. Doesn't have any of the quirky humor or funny moments like with Danny and Rusty or Linus. They had none of that. The different uses of music, which reflects the countries they were in, was also great for me. A lot more themes were explored and stylistic elements, which for me, made me thoroughly enjoy this film. All around Oceans Twelve is a much better film than Oceans 8. Better score, better actors, better story, better camerawork. The uses of red and black and white reflect the moods throughout the film. Simply better. No other way to put it. It shows that now, writers, directors lack vision or creativity.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I think Twelve was sort of a misstep which is why I’m glad they could end the franchise on a good note with 13.

My favorite thus far is Ocean's 13. I get that it is more of the same, but to me, it feels like a further polished Ocean's 11, which works for me. Ocean's 12 was so damn confusing, and I haven't watched Ocean's 8 yet.

Absolutely.
I just saw Ocean's Twelve. It's not a good movie. Ocean's Eleven was okay, but a lot of things made little to no sense. In Ocean's Twelve nothing made any sense at all. And I can't bring myself to enjoy a movie when the script is just random events happening without much point. I hate convenient plot points, and this movie had a ton of them (like Matt Damon's mother suddenly bailing him out of jail out of nowhere, stuff like that).

I Clicked On The Video Because I've Watched Ocean's 13 And Started Obsessing Over It. This Movie Is INSANE! 12s Is Barley Cohesive Enough To Be A Movie, And 8s is Just Soulless. Every Caharcter From Rusty, To Garcia And Tishkoff! All Written To Perfection. It Is Kind of Over-produced (So Not Better Than The First), But Still - Criminally Underrated.

1. Ocean’s 11The original 1960 movie isn't really worth going back to watch. A very vast majority of the movie is just the Rat Pack standing around a piano singing. The heist itself takes up about 5-10 minutes of the movie and is very simple with no real twists or anything in it. There is very little planning for it too.Ocean's 12 just felt weak compared to the others. Think the jumping around you mentioned is a big part of that and not having a big heist to build towards and show off I think hurt it. Just a few little ones that didn't have as much going into them. Do agree with you about it being different and that was nice and did feel like a good flow in the story for continuing on from 11.Ocean's 8 and 13 are about equal to me. Feel like 8 slowed down just a little bit more in the middle compared to 13 so gave 13 the edge but both are great.Ocean's 11 was a great film with a lot of cool twists and a fun move overall. Was very fresh and new at the time as well to me. That was the biggest hindrance, like you said for 13 and the same for me with 8, they both just seem to be trying to copy this one with a new element or two to them. So great but just don't feel as original or fresh as this one giving it the placement of #1 for the series.

I hadn't seen any of the ocean's movies until last week which is probably why my ranking is so different from everyone's, but seeing them in release order my ranking is:
1. Oceans 11 (1960) - Very good

4. Ocean's Thirteen - Enjoyable

IF ANYONE WATCHED OCEANS 12 AT A YOUNG AGE AND NOW IS AN ADULT: I URGE YOU TO WATCH IT AGAIN NOW. IT IS A FREAKINNG MASTERPIECE!!! For many reasons: such clever directing, full of sauce, amazing misdirection, peak storytelling and perfomances and it's so much different to 11 and 13 which is a GREAT thing. I just watched it and as things stand I'd even debate it for the number one spot. Gets way too much hate IMO!!

how did Linus' mom get everyone out of prison? who knows. ah, to hell with explaining that in any way shape or form... it's not like the plot of the entire movie depends on that making sense or anything... let the audience decide for themselves! how did the team outsteal a superior thief? wait, I got it! let's make it so his teacher swapped the original with a replica and never told him. the teacher wants his arrogant student to learn humility. I mean if we don't write that in, they're completely fucked right? and let's have the superior thief somehow be SO honor bound, he responds by dutifully paying 200 million dollars.
not trying to rain on people's parade - it's an entertaining movie and the cast is great, but the writing is absolutely atrocious. the worst part is at the very end when the entire cast is smiling triumphantly as they meet in the poker room, with victorious music playing in the background. did the writers actually think viewers would feel like these characters accomplished something in this movie? if so, what? they literally did nothing, to achieve this ending.

I agree oceans eleven was a great film. Hell, I use to describe stuff being like oceans eleven even before I watched it. That just shows how iconic of a heist film it is.
People dog on 8, but honestly it was fine. It was a movie. The characters were underwritten and def would have benefited if written by a woman. But I think most hate is from dudes ready to hate all women movies who are blaming the underwhelming writing/poor character development on the actors and not the writing, editing, etc.

I haven't seen the original Ocean's Eleven either, I'm honestly not interested.
It's garbage, don't bother. All characters are bland guys with no personalities. They don't even explain why they are hired for the job. I mean, reboot explains why each character is hired, they all have intros and have specific tasks. There's only like one character with distinct skill, which is basically cutting wires lol.

Oceans 13- feels very disconnected and just not as good as the others
Oceans 8- good but not very creative and no real tension or setbacks but I guess she did have 6 years to plan it so
Oceans 12- unique had a lot of plot twists and pretty cool all around
Oceans 11- the best. It’s brand new unique and very exciting
Ocean 8 - ur right on the planning part. I guess if ur in jail for 6 years you'll have covered all the holes. I really liked the ending where they revealed they robbed the whole museum, def put me off guard.
