Nice job on the video! I think setting up and taking down gets easier because you refine your set up with experience. Don't procrastinate too long between video, you got the personality and skills to do well on youtube IMO. Which rifle is better (shooting and build quality)? Or which rifle do you like better?
Which rifle is better? A friend pointed out the other day I never do answer those questions, and they are hard to answer. I will tell you I believe the Ruger is a better rifle, but I like the Savage more. I have sworn to myself I will never buy another Savage after the issues this one had out of the box. I like the look and the way the Savage Elites feel. But that bolt chatter, feeding and extracting problems really take away from what is otherwise an amazing rifle. Very accurate (more accurate than I can shoot). The Ruger though feeds every time, feels smooth when working the bolt, and I like the 70 degree through. With the 90 degree bolt angle on the Savage I have racked my thumb on the optic a few times. If I was forced to sell one of these rifles, I would keep the Ruger. Thank you so much. I’m debating between both of these and then 300prc or 338 lapua. I have a 7prc already so that’s why I’m considering the lapua since 7prc is similar to the 300
instead of shooting at the dot or floating your reticle inside the small torso why dont you line your recticle on the bottom right or bottom left corner of the torso? it would give you an exact point in space to focus on...
Well, I'll tell you why. 20 years of hearing the phrase "center mass". Then you hear the phrase "aim small, miss small" so I thought the dot was a genius outside-the-box idea. Never occurred to aim at the corner of the box. It's a great suggestion Dario and I'll give it a "shot" next time I go out. Thanks for the feedback.
That's a fair assessment. As Happy Gilmore once said, it's way easier to get a hole in one. If you miss the first shot you have to use follow up shots to find the right hold. Usually you would look for a dirt splash and adjust accordingly. I had no way of calling shots hence a lot of mosses at 700 yards lol. I think I did okay once I found the right hold through. I don’t remember seeing a backdrop… or hearing you saying there isn’t one (j/k, saw & heard you say it) … but I do remember you scoping yourself and cracking a tooth 😂
Fortunately I did not indeed chip any teeth, but I did grind them pretty pretty hard. That actually hurt for a bit. I don't recommend scoping yourself, but I'd you do make sure you're in a stable position. I now know why the eyepiece of a TactaCam has rubber and the TriggerCam does not lol.
@@TheProcrastinatingPrepper I live in Ohio. We hunted for years with shotguns (slugs), so as a young man I heard how these new slugs were fast and were the greatest thing. So I got some but I figured the 3' magnums would be even better so, I shot that 7lb 12 gauge off of a rest and bruised my shoulder, (after 20 rounds) when I shot it off hand I had my thumb rapped around the stock and thumbed my cheekbone/eye. It'll only happens 1or 2 times before you figure out how to stop it. Even if you forget once in a while, you're only human! Point is if it hasn't happened to you haven't tried to better yourself or change things up. This guy is probably one of the guys that never misses and if you call him out to the range he won't show up!
