a caveat to take into consideration is that several ADCs including doublelift were not performing well on Senna more out of how the champion plays than their own skill. Forg1ven excelled on more agressvie champs like lucian, tristana, etc. while senna is a hard scalling champ with low atk speed growth. this also applied to aphelios for some pros too again including doubklelift.

Good Video, really apreciate these history/documentary formats
I think he was a very relatable and insanely skilled guy. He got sometimes mad over his Teammates or over loosing in general like we all do sometimes, the problem was that SoloQ and Pro play is different you gotta keep cool there and work with your team even if youre completly outperforming everyone :D. Great player one of the best, and he was never toxic outside of the game. Still remember his peak Dodging mechanics were like scripting haha
I also think he relized his own talent and wanted to compete at the very top and wanted to go all in for winning. When it doesnt worked out he went mental and flamed his mates or underperformed. I assume the best teams(G2 and Fnatic at the time) wouldn't wanted him for his toxic habits and at H2K he was able to pull as much as possible only loosing to some of the best teams in the world. Beating EDG (which was China's Top Seed) twice is pretty solid. They even beat Rox Tigers in worlds skirmishes continiously. Not bad i'd say considering H2k wasn't having a Star-Roster they were more like Underdogs.
My Huge respect to Godgiven, made me play and master adc back then especially Caitlyn and Sivir haha

Gotta say, this is lazy research. Basically just telling off fandom wikia pages.
There are plenty of more research to build a better documentary, such as the extended interviews with Thoorin as Forg1ven's teammates all confirm that after their IEM run in spring 2015, the team was never the same again. Even though they finished 15-3, the team atmosphere was rotten to the core as Forg1ven's ego refused to accept that there were other ADCs to play other than Graves and Lucian, the former had a rework on the way basically leaving him with only 1 ADC to play before summer season ended.
As GE Tigers did, they drafted differently which the other EULCS teams copied causing Forg1ven to no longer being the primary carry force on SK for the remainder of the year. And Fox losing confidence lead to their collapse as the meta shifted away from top-jungle being impactful.

  • @daedalusdreamjournal5925

It seems to me that forgiven was to League of Legends what Idra was to Starcraft 2. Players who were very solid in a very specific aspect of the game pushing them far ... but getting toxic very quickly especially when the games didn't turn in their favour.
Worse, their toxicity and narrow focus prevented them from adapting their game .... adaptation, that's very important in competitive sports, but especially in esport where patches are abundant and the meta can change at the drop of a hat.
And while both Idra and Forgiven had a somewhat respectable run in their respective games, neither were at the very top ( for the reasons mentioned above).

For all the flaws he might have in his character, it's not a bad idea to have at least somewhat of a main character syndrome in LEC/LCS. A lot of good players stuck with bad teams just to get thrown out by the bad staff and not having options because they couldn't perform on those teams.
I'd also argue that at least LCS and LEC with some exceptions have very bad coaches, often forcing champs and playstyles on players just because of some statistics of other players.

I cant describe to you how much he dominated entire LCS, it was like having a Korean ADC in europe smurfing on the rest. In EU he was 100% without a doubt the best ADC and in the worlds Tournament there were Ruler, Bang and Uzi who one could rank above him, since he had on his own left fking Deft (current world champion btw) behind him!
Sadly his Character was very stupid and arrogant and so his incredible potential stopped there, but i am very sure, that if he had a different mental, he could have actually become the best player that EU ever has had, too bad his story is a losers story instead...

There are instances (a lot of them), when he is hard carrying and people are indeed holding him back by playing terrible macro but it's not every games nor the majority of them. The thing about the 2v3 and 2v4 botlane is true but that's bc he is always pushing waves with hypercarry champions which doesn't allow his jgl to come and dive and leave his back open to ganks. And best adc in the world? Are you crazy? Sure, historically Forg1ven has to be the best western adc in terms of peak but you ain't telling me he can lane against Ruler. Viper, Jackeylove or Uzi.

He wasn't bad at Schalke he was probably their best player atm, abe and odo didn't wanted him because they was aware of his toxicity and they wanted him out before even playing their first match with him.
I'm not accepting that he was washed up when he joined Schalke because out of all these players he was the one that actually played the game, he wasn't looking rusty, instead he was surely the only player that over performed to win games but even that wasn't enough...
Schalke could go even further with forgiven the reason that they did after him is because some players purposely played bad in order to make him angry and leave.
Believe it or not Forgiven is very reasonable guy but gets extremely angry during games and mostly in soloq, after the match he forgets everything and moves on he's angry af but he never was toxic, at least in a competitive level...

Heard about Michael Jordan been toxic at his teammates all the time, pushing em because they didnt put in the work he did and because he was super competitive? Similar case, in his peak he was the best adc in EU, by far, if not the best EU player and could compete very well against eastern adcs. He is just a super competitive person to the point it becomes toxic for his teammates. He just wanted to win so badly and his teammates couldnt keep up to the level he wanted em to. Thats not to excuse his toxicity but just an example to understand him more.

Good video but just because you point out how good forg1ven is, you shouldn't point out how worse the other adcs were just because he beat them or whatever, it's subjective criticism and i believe it comes out a little as hate speech but you do you. Great video overall

I appreciate the feedback man. I’m trying my best to convey how far ahead of the curve he was for seasons 4-6. Obviously the adcs he was better than were still pro players and insanely talented at the game

your analysis is very surface level , nearly all he teams he left got worse overnight , some of them even facing religations after he left , his ego was massive for sure , but ruining his career? what exactly did fredy 123 and fox , ryu , nrated , diamondprox , and so many other of his teamates did in the game anyway and what did he do in the game , uncompairable careers.... for me to argue that he ever had a top shelf roster to play wth is laughable and yes when you are the best and you do your chores with CW , you want to play with the best.
