This is the best byzantine chant I have heard ever done in English. Normally I think English sounds strange chanted, but this is amazing.

Its a petition from the Priest before starting the cherubic hymn: "Thou are thou always, by thy might, that we may ascribe glory unto thee to the father and to the son and to the holy spirit now and ever and unto ages of ages"

Beautiful in English! Great icons, especially the last. Is it the repose of St. Isaac the Syrian?

This is incorrect, the Cherubic hymn here is First Mode by Karamanis. Not Plagal of the First (Tone 5)

IVSTINIANVS my friend. it's plagal 1st tone. I have the byzantine notation to this by Mount Lebanon choir. it says plagal 1st tone. the liturgical responses and It is truly meet that follow are also in plagal 1st tone.

@@vagos2006 You're either lying or can't read Byzantine notation. It is TONE 1 drive.google.com/file/d/1wSL2zN1DrVKoUEU2hCY0Jh7tEP32qLEs/view

@@IVSTINIANUSxI My friend, I can read byzantine music and I'm not lying. This is the byzantine notation that Mount lebanon choir has for this. I have the music for this cherubic hymn up to It it truly meet, They all say Plagal 1st. The other videos that I have for the liturgical responses and Axion estin, It is truly meet is the continuation of this video that I have from their Mount Lebanon Choirs CD. Its all in plagal 1st tone.
Continuation from their CD - Liturgical responses - Plagal 1st.

I will have to scan their sheet music to show you as i don't have it in PDF.
Yes the sheet music you sent me is note for note to what they are chanting. I saw it and its very accurate. I wrote plagal 1st because their sheet music (mount lebanon choir) says otherwise. But I did check their CD right now and it says Tone 1. People sometimes make mistakes my friend there is no need to throw accusations and judgements. We do all things with the love in Christ. Peace be with you!

@@vagos2006 I don't know what music you're going to scan, but it was subdeacon Karim el-Far who translated this piece from Greek to English and arranged it in Byzantine notation. I have his book. And it clearly says Tone 1. I'm not judging you, but when you say you have the music in front of you from "Mount Lebanon Choir" (it isnt the choir that did the music it's Subdeacon el-Far) and it says Plagal 1st, then that speaks for itself. Yes, people do make mistakes, but when we do, it is best not to double down out of pride. We all do this from time to time, and we should all try to work on this.

@@IVSTINIANUSxI You did accuse him of potentially lying. Which would be a strange assumption over a post of a chant. I would leave the correction of potential pride to his Spiritual Father and the Holy Spirit. Unless you are a Priest, in which case I would ask your blessing.
