New Holland CR11 UK, world record breaker in the making?

  • This video is about the New Holland CR11.
    It also features John Deeres & JCB 4220's corn carting which kicks in after a few minutes and then some really nice clips of unloading the CR11's mammoth 20,000 litre grain tank on the move.
    So don’t miss some of the best bits by only watching the great close ups of the CR11 as the panoramic distance shots show the area it is working in beautifully.
    I couldn't get my usual high altitude panoramic shots because the wind was really blowing and averaging over 20mph with gusts nicely above that so I was more than impressed with how the new DJI Air3 handled these cross winds.
    If I hadn't invested in this new drone there is no way I could have filmed that day with my old Air2 as it just wasn't heavy enough.
    Back to the filming.
    This beast of a combine has a 15.9-litre, six-cylinder Cursor 16 engine producing 775 horse power.
    The CR11 used its 50 foot MacDon header and some of its 775 horse power to chew through the crop of Winter Barley with next to no losses and in such a decent crop, it really was impressive.
    This video shows the CR11 working well but not under much pressure even with a mammoth 50 feet header.
    If New Holland do try to beat the own 8 hour world harvesting record which they set way back in 2014 with a CR 10.90, then this is surely the machine to break it with.
    Many thanks go to Stephen Loughnane of New Holland, Will Jones of Albanwise and in particular Richard Smith & Will Wainwright of R.D.Webster. Thanks to everyone else involved in setting up the day.

      Good point, well made.
      The day after New Holland broke the world harvesting record in 2014 the design team got together with a blank sheet of paper and set about designing something completely new to beat the CR10.90’s capability.
      Mind blowing dedication really.

    I'm thinking there must be a hell of a weight in the unloading arm yet it looks like it could be shorter which woukd obviously save strain on where it attaches to the body of the combine? Not claiming to be an expert,just saying what im seeing and others views on it?

    • @ANDYOLDRIDGEFARMINGVIDEOS
      @ANDYOLDRIDGEFARMINGVIDEOS  5 дней назад

      I think it’s that length to make the most of “controlled traffic”options on different farms and drill widths.
      But I know what you mean it will be heavy, but also it has a clever feature where it can turn off one or both tank augers when a trailer is nearly full so the unloading auger is empty of grain when closing and opening. Thanks for commenting and watching my videos 😊👍🚜

      Hi Rick, I asked the same question and apparently it is because it is heavily spring loaded in sections and the jockey wheels that you see running along under the length of the header only need a bit of pressure for the header to lift in the section and allow it to hug the contours of the field. To be fare that is exactly what it did really well while I was filming it. Thanks for watching and hopefully subscribing for many more videos to come.

      @jonnykerley 22 дня назад +6

      No way. CR11 well ahead now. Spot output of 150t/hr. JD X9 and Lexion 8900 little over 100t/hr. Ideal 10T not even in the game.

    • @tommyzoo
      @tommyzoo 22 дня назад

      @@jonnykerley unless you have driven them all in the same field side by side in the same crop then that is just pure speculation. The 10T and Claas could do well over 100t per hour but throw a load over the back. It is the combination of sample/losses/fuel and output that count. The Ideal is actually incredibly efficient in that regards as are most when driven to the crop/conditions. Playing top trumps like a little kid banding whose got the biggest..... etc when you have not driven all this kit together renders your argument pointless

    • @jonnykerley
      @jonnykerley 22 дня назад +6

      @@tommyzoo Simply not true. Yes, in the same field would be the ultimate comparison, but the CR11 has done 137t/hr in wheat and no other combine has. Period. Simple. It might have been in perfect conditions, but all the other machines have run in perfect conditions at some point. And just to be clear we are talking grain throughput not straw and grain combined. Then factor in the CR11 did it with an average loss rate of LESS THAN 0.1%, that is even more impressive. You said yourself the others could do 100t/hr but throw a load over the back- thats the whole point of the CR11 and one of the key metrics it was designed to do- those throughputs with next to no losses. You probably want to do a bit more research. The CR10.90 set the world record for harvesting in wheat 10 years ago and no other manufacturer has beaten it. The CR11 is 25% more capacity than the CR10.90. As for little kids, you started the top trumps- I was just updating your out of date information😆. Ps How many combines have you driven?
