- I noticed this lizard at Rancho Manana Golf course, Cave Creek, Arizona. It was black from the back side, but when it did push-ups, it displayed a brilliant blue belly and an orange neck. We have at least 60 types of lizards here in AZ.
So far, the best I can tell, it's either a Western Fence Lizard, or an Ornate Tree Lizard, or ...??
Please comment if you have any idea what kind of lizard this is!

That is a very very colorful ornate tree lizard! They aren’t usually that brightly colored, I’m sure he’s real popular with the ladies!
Thanks @southwesthardypalms, he's living up to his Ornate name!
Nice !
Thanks @kosteriowa!
There is a rock area between the parking lot and the range at Cave Creek that I've seen some great lizards in. This guy was probably picking off ants like the ones I used to see around my old mesquite.
I did see him grab a couple of things too small to see -- probably ants. I love watching lizards, and they often stay close, I'd swear they're hoping for a handout.
