Thunder is a pretty cool character. I just read the novella, and the way it depicted him was epic. Mira, one of the antagonists of the game, compared him in physique and presence to a mountain. So she summoned a swarm of Wendigos to distract him, but he just glared and said “I do not fear the flesh eaters.” Then he started carving his way through them.
I remember that definitely one of the coolest things that happened in the KI 2013 storyline. Basically Thuner saw the hoard of cannibal demons coming towards him glared at them like a badass stated that he wasn't afraid of them and then took them all down single handedly like the badass protagonist that he is.
The album's on spotify now, when I found out it was like finding presents under the christmas tree as a kid. This song and The Tiger Warrior sound...what's the word... Oh yeah, *_GODLIKE_*
The passion is so huge I’m blown away. I don’t know much about my heritage, but I know that I have at least some Native American blood. I’ve been told that I am descended from a Native American princess called White Wing who is Chinook if I’m not mistaken. I also have two molars with three prongs on them. I don’t know if that has anything to do with Native American heritage but I’ve been told it is. I’d like to get in contact with Native Americans and perhaps those I am descended from but I don’t know where to start. I take passion and communing with nature very seriously. I’m very interested in meeting like-minded people with passion and creativity but I don’t really know where to find them. And yeah, this is a great track 😊

This is the kind of music that makes me interested in Native American culture and customs. So many awe-inspiring things to discover in the more classical (and to me, outlandish) civilisations like the Norsemen, Celts and Native Americans. Let's hope that one day I'll be able to learn more about their old ways.
The interesting thing is that I have always imagined the soundtrack to have almost the exact same structure as this. (The extended lead in to Thunders old theme, and then the cut to the lead in to the "16 hit combo" theme. ) Of course, I did not anticipate the extra layers and enhancements.
BRO!!!! you killed it with this entire ost. I listen to your version of THE INSTINCT every frickin day (that shit aint no exaggeration) and this song is my fav new song. Man I hope give the option to purchase some of the original tunes for fighting. But thanks so much for such great work.

He will just counterbreak with Sabrewulf's.
Rapitor nah, that's a triple Ultra
Two reasons to buy Killer Instinct:
1. Mick Gordon
2. Celldweller
3. Spinal
mick gordon is good person who made doom music but killer instinct is overall not that good.
@@spooky882naah it is that good though
Ignore the rage bait guys. These people get more and more less creative as the years progress. Enjoy the game,it's free and entirely worth it
@@Dhampire1976 what's the point of me being creative? Killer instinct is the worst fighting game franchise I ever played, tekken or mortal kombat are far superior than it
still a phenomenal theme after nearly 5 years and dare I say the best one out of the entire soundtrack. i wont forget falling more in love with it after hearing 2:00 for the first time. so powerful, beautiful and emotional it could bring a tear to the eye.
It's 2022 and I stil blast the KI soundtrack! I've been a fan since the 90's of KI, playing in the arcades and so on and so forth. I've been a metal musician for 20 years straight and have always very much enjoyed your work man!
It is supremely difficult to have both a feeling of freedom, and aggression, from one musical score. Mick, you're a legend my dude.
long time metalhead.
I never pictured tribal music being mixed with metal or hard rock before.
You've done a remarkable job of sparking that mix, Michael. Well done.
I do hope to see other bands take from this excellent piece, and build on this new "tribal metal"
would definitely make for an interesting listen.
Yeah, there's a lot of folk culture that blends awesomely with metal. =) Don't know if you already know them, or if you're into Asian culture, but you might give Chthonic a try. Broken Jade is my favorite piece from them, it's just amazing how symphonic black merges with asian instruments so powerfully ^^
Listen to Amorphis for Finnish folk music combined with metal.
Giantdad Lives Ensiferum introdiced me to that one, already. But i will give that band a try. Thanks. :)
You've never heard of Sepultura? Fair enough, but stuff like this is badass.
Folk meshes with metal perfectly
I don't know how Mick Gordon made this song, but it's AWESOME! This is one the most beautiful and badass songs I've ever heard!
This song gives me life
Killer Instinct:
Fighting game
or
Musical?
Seriously tho, this songs are fucking amazing
BOTH!!!
Fighting musical
Honestly I'd watch the shit out of an actual Killer Instinct musical.
Yes.
Mick Gordan is a god..nuff said
Exactly what i have been looking for.
Mick Gordon you are quickly becoming one of my favorite composers. I Love every song on this Killer Instinct soundtrack. However this has always been a favorite, and I can't believe there's so much here that I didn't originally hear.
Probably my second favorite theme but it's really close
The singing is beautiful and hearing the story if how it came together it's so cool getting the pax crowd in in it
I have to say I love this song. It is incredible in how accurate it captures Nez Perce chants and flawlessly mixes them with some crunchy guitar and drums. The entire Killer Instinct soundtrack is also just incredible. Mick Gordon you have become one of my favorite composers dude. It helps that the game itself is just incredible to boot.
best fighting music ever made in my opion
You have very quickly become one of my favorite composers. Keep it up, love your sound across all your styles!
It's criminal how small the amount of likes are ! This is awesomeness galore!! So underrated! It deserves better!!
seriously man... you overhauled Thunder's theme and gave it new life... you did a phenomenal job on all the KI tracks... I'm officially a Mick Gordon Fanboy now :P
but yeah, you kick ass and mix some DAMN good music, keep rockin it ^^
This song has everything: badass choir/vocals, goosebumps inducing flutes and the Imagine dragons like theme :D
Im proud to be a Native American because of this.
LOOK AT WHAT OUR PEOPLE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED!!
This has to be my absolute favorite track in the game. It's just to good. It has to many things that are good about it.
Mick. Never stop making music. Easily one of my favorite soundtracks for any game I’ve played.
If I ever made a game, I'd want M. Gordon to compose the soundtrack.
Passing by to remember that nice goosebumps from my younghood, this track still rules!! This one inspired a lot of my work, channel and my composition style.
SO yeah....thank you!
Years later and still enjoying this track. Definitely would have made a good cameo on the new Prey movie haha
My father loves this theme so much. He's Ojibwe by the way.
Never ever ever thought there would be music that would make me think and shed a tear.....
The PERFECT composer for Killer Instinct
Hinnamatoom goin' HAM in this piece. Easily my favorite arrangement of Season 1. The acoustic section gets me every time.
Oh man, this is now my favourite track in the game.
But...but Jago theme tho!
Jago's theme doesn't touch this sorry my friend.
Fulgore Hype, nuff said
artistafrustrado1 FOR FULGORNIA!!!
But...but Spinal theme tho!
Mick Gordon, my conplemments. This is the best track if all the game. KI was awesome back in the day, and with this last one having these cool tracks, makes one feel invincible while playing at it. It is also unteresting how you miced rock with native american music. Totally perfect and it fills one with every kind of emotion. Best track so far to me personally. Congratulations
The section at 3:20 may be one of the most badass things I've ever heard.
Every time I hear this song, I become full of adrenaline!
You and me both man! I need this soundtrack so damn bad!!!!!!
Second only to Spinals theme cause viking war chants are my weakness.
Adore the work Mick. Here's hoping we hear more of your work.
The album's on spotify now, when I found out it was like finding presents under the christmas tree as a kid.
This song and The Tiger Warrior sound...what's the word... Oh yeah, *_GODLIKE_*
This song is badass I love 2:06 the way he sings, does anyone know more songs like this?
The flute just pierced through everything
God bless you Mick Gordon for producing such beautiful tracks... once that flute kicks in.. oh my god...
Wow, excellent! J'adorerais voir ça en live, c'est puissant. J'approuve totalement 🤩🤘
Killer Instinct has a better and more diverse cast than Overwatch.
and has been around alot longer
Um probably because killer instinct is a fighting game not a hero shooter
@@JazzyFiz and? I mean no one is stoping you from putting velociraptors, werewolfs and aliens into an FPS
@@JosephFlores-yn4yi ok?
@@JazzyFiz paladins have a lovecraft worm as a hero, anything is possible
We need more heavy metal with native american culture mixed in!
I swear, listening to this song gives me an epic sense of euphoria that is so fucking soul drilling. It's too deep for words and It literally makes me WANT to be bigger and better in life. Holy shit, I fuck with this song heavy.
We love you Mick. Absolutely brilliant work as always
This is the kind of music that makes me interested in Native American culture and customs. So many awe-inspiring things to discover in the more classical (and to me, outlandish) civilisations like the Norsemen, Celts and Native Americans.
Let's hope that one day I'll be able to learn more about their old ways.
This theme was already epic to begin with. I wonder how I survived hearing this version.
The interesting thing is that I have always imagined the soundtrack to have almost the exact same structure as this. (The extended lead in to Thunders old theme, and then the cut to the lead in to the "16 hit combo" theme. )
Of course, I did not anticipate the extra layers and enhancements.
This is the COOLEST Native American (Rock) music, I ever hear! I would actually play this in repeat mode as a "worked-out" jam, everyday!
BRO!!!! you killed it with this entire ost. I listen to your version of THE INSTINCT every frickin day (that shit aint no exaggeration) and this song is my fav new song. Man I hope give the option to purchase some of the original tunes for fighting. But thanks so much for such great work.
You can buy the soundtracks of Season one and two on Amazon.
I really LOVE what you did with Thunder!!! Those flutes, this melody... If you see her, thank Jessica Andersen for her performance.
Incredible work Mick Gordon.
Killer instinct has one of the best IF not the best of any fighting game out there.
