I use both of these devices daily and I have to say that they are both incredible devices. I do notice the difference in quality of noise cancelation between the over-ears vs the in-ears when using them though. The in-ears are worse but sometimes that actually makes me more likely to use them. I work at a fish hatchery and there's a significant amount of machine noise from running equipment that is hell on the ears and even worse if you were to try and use an ambient sound mode from one of these devices. However, while having some noise canceling makes working in that environment much easier it's also important to be able to hear some through the noise canceling and that's why I generally use the in-ears at work. Since they cancel 90% of the noise but allow me to hear anything important while if i were to use the over-ears I'd have to take them off to check if a pump was cavitating or the like.
Man I just found this channel. Damn! You go through all the tests but don't simply state the facts while sitting there. The editing was fun and high quality, the jokes were dumb but funny and all that playfulness did not take away from being informative and useful. Hell, the jokes were part of the review itself instead of just cutaways. Most reviews I can simply listen to while I do other things but this one had me paying attention the whole time. You used the medium very well. I wasn't gonna subscribe because at the end of the day I'm not watching this type of content often but given how good it was and the fact that you don't upload often... Don't forget to mention the WH1000 xm4 can be use as wired which is good for gaming and it doesn't drain battery while plugged. Battery life will degrade after a few years but the WH xm4 will last you for many many years.
The software update now mean that the XM4 earbuds can now manage 2 devices. I loved your comparison. I have both. I have hearing problems and wear hearing aids during the day (they do bluetooth to my phone but the sound sucks). For me, due to my audio impairment, I find the earbuds work better. Probably because the speakers are rammed down my ears. Just sayin 👍
I know a lot of people have written this under your videos before but in my opinion your videos have insane production quality, especially your storytelling. This was the exact video I needed. I had the WF-XM4 and I am about to buy the WH-XM4. It sounds like sound quality and battery life are better which are the two things I wanted. WF-XM4 will always have a use, but I wanted something for longer listening around the house where I do not need to deal with battery life drama all the time.
@@2_nk_324 They did an amazing job matching the sound quality to both which is hard to believe, but if I had to give overall win on overall sound quality.. it's the full size model headphone (but only by a small margin). I mean it when I say they are close though, but you can hear a difference on cleaner recorded tracks. I will say from a battery perspective the full size model lived up to all the hype...its the way to go. I am constantly charging the earbuds and I only charge the headphones like once a week (sometimes longer between chargers). In the end though they kinda server different purposes. So just get what fits your need. I needed both work out and pocket sized mobile earbuds and I wanted full size Bluetooth headphones watching late tv at night and also air travel.

The xm3s really are missing a good amount of features compared to the xm4s. You really should've made this video the xm3 vs the xm4 earbuds in my opinion. One thing is the anc and transparency are better on the xm4 over the xm3. Also the sound quality is better on the xm4 than the xm3. So I feel like they really aren't interchangeable.
Just my 2 cents suggestion, will be there any changes in noise cancellation if tested outside in real life than compare to noise cancellation inside the room?
I ain’t buying it! Love videos but you are arguing functionality. It is like comparing a flathead screwdriver versus a Phillips head screw driver. I have the WF 4 and WM 4 . No comparison the over the heads are a different experience.
