I can totally see Rasputin using SIVA to fight the Darkness, like massive tendrils coming out of a building and into the sky and rushing over a Pyramid Ship like a tsunami wave.
Question is, how would the darkness deal with it? Or is SIVA just effective against lightbearers?

I personally think Siva may be tied to the darkness somehow. Clovis was obsessed with the dark and according to Elsie he was told by the dark to built the vex gates on Europa. Who’s to say the dark did not also steer him towards the concept of Siva? And yes I know Sivas been covered. Blah blah blah. But the idea of how and where the idea Clovis came about the whole idea was not fully covered.

When talking about SIVA, I just want to point out that Failsafe mentioned (idle dialogue) something about SIVA. If SIVA were to make a resurgence, I think it would be Nessus.

I hope not. I'm sick of the enemy being able to use things that humanity built that humans aren't even able to use. We've also already seen the fallen with SIVA, so hopefully we don't have to go through that same song and dance all over again

I feel like there's so many good ways Siva can be reimplemented into Destiny 2. I'd love it if we had something like Siva mods that we could put on our weapons or armor. They could also add a small visual effect to your weapons or armor like the black armory weapons.

12:46 -- Though the measurement changes with time, currently, Eris is almost exactly 9 billion miles away from Earth. Because of how slowly Eris orbits and how distant it is, for anyone writing that record at pretty much any point from the Traveler's arrival through the end of the Golden Age, that distance measurement should be relatively consistent.
I guess it's time to look for SIVA colonies on planetoids out past Neptune.

Was going to comment on this. Eris at it's furthest point is actually closer to 9 billion miles from Mars at (which would make sense, as that's where Rasputin is). The only problem i can see is that the time Eris takes to complete a full orbit is about 560 years, and that would put the Golden Age within 100(?) years of the present (or some multiple of 560 years). Depending on the time it was written, the lore could be referring to Sedna on the outbound leg of it's orbit as well.
Either way. Assuming the ship was landing on something 9 billion miles out from Mars, that distance is still well within the solar system.
basically what you are saying is 9 billion miles puts it firmly into the outer edge of the Kuiper belt as the Oort cloud is way WAY further (Voyager is around 13 billion miles away and has passed the Heliopause and is expected to reach the Oort cloud in a few hundred years)

@@pills- To add on this the ship could have been launched when Eris is at it's closest around the orbit of Neptune. It says Rasputin will be able to direct SIVA when they are closest and build up something on Eris but it would be unable to control it when its at the outer edges. But the timing would also put Eris, if they did launch when it was its closest, to just now be coming back to around Neptune.

I played D1 on ps3 then found destiny 2 on steam via new light then as I was looking for something my brother mentioned Byfs channel, Mylens, bearded grizzly if I wanted to get deep into the lore and I'm glad I did cause it's an amazing universe

While 9 billion miles sounds like a lot, it is ”only” about 97 astronomical units( the distance betwen the sun and earth)

Darkness tech is probably so advanced that siva would he useless. They can create gravitational anomalies, I don't siva will do them much good.

The best way to follow Destiny lore is to watch Byf & Myelin, they are both great & almost never do the same points.

The planet “Eris” is 9 billion miles or 96 Astronomical Units away from Earth... coincidence?!
Probably not. However, Bungie will have a lot of 'splainin to do, as to what in the name of all nine circles of hell a bunch of colonists are suposed to do on a small icy rock in the dark corners of the outer solar system.
Eris is smaller than Europa, and much darker and colder. Without a large planet and other large moons to cause tidal heating, Eris will probably be close to the temprature of interstellar space, about 3 Kelvin. And at that distance, Sol is just another, somewhat brigher star in the sky.
So, why send colonists there?

The entire concept of SIVA is just so cool to me. A nanotechnology acting as a mechanical virus capable of bringing about a technological singularity is awesome. The way it works in swarms is awesome. The way it infects things and warps them to its needs is awesome. Not to mention it’s aesthetic is awesome.
The black octahedrons and their technological feel is somehow simultaneously works with and against the red wires that look more like muscle fibers than any sort of machine. The carbon fiber finishes, the veiny masses of wires, the grid patters and the weird fungal nubs all work together to make SIVA feel like the perfectly twisted combination of organic and artificial.
How it’s presented in Rise of Iron is just awesome. It feels right at home in the frozen wasteland of the cosmodrome. It’s a great addition to the sliced sheet metal, exposed i-beams, coats of rust, twisted rebar, splintered pipers, crumbling concrete and shattered glass the cosmodrome offers. It’s especially awesome in the places with he highest concentration of SIVA, like Site 6, The Server Farm, and the Perfection Complex.
And the entire Iron Lords plot of ancient warriors vs a high tech menace is just perfect.

Any thoughts on guardians wielding SIVA, amond other powers like Taken energy?
I feel like it's worth mentioning that it was never 100% confirmed that the Exodus Black wasn't harvesting any inactive SIVA, and had we not defended Failsafe, it's possible that the Fallen on Nessus could reclaim it.
I also think it possible that Failsafe might also be another submind, like the one mentioned going on the other Exodus mission.

Nessus was originally going to be a SIVA area back when they were first working on D2, which shows that they weren't quite done with it yet.

The problem with your theory is that SIVA isn't a faction. It's merely a tool like a shovel or a gun. It holds no allegiance to anything.

Rasputin and SIVA are the two things I find most interesting in Destiny's lore and I really wish they both played a far more active role in the story at large.
Also wish the Splicers were still around because SIVA actually made the Fallen feel like a legitimate threat on par with the other enemy factions.
It's possible that there is the presence of SIVA on Nessus. One of Failsafe's dialog lines is a "status report" sort of list on the Exodus Black, she speaks about crew conditions, power efficiency, her own mind integrity, and, a SIVA cache.
