The Truth About Australia’s Future
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 авг 2024
- Australia is massive and has huge deposits of natural resources, yet despite having more than enough land to build solar panels and large-scale wind power projects, Australia has a huge love affair with Coal. With a recent change in government and the looming, growing power of China, we’ve got to ask: What does Australia’s future look like?

Canbria? Uh, no. It’s Canberra.
as a australian well the out back is not bad i love it
1:50 convicts turned colonists several hundred years ago ?
1788 was the first fleet's arrival
You're doing an amazing job, Andy! Keep it up 👏
Thank you! 😃
I’ve got to say, whoever named the Australian states was Mr./Mrs. Creativity😂
Comedian steve hughes will explain this for you ruclips.net/video/0dTg4RlxsTE/видео.html&feature=shares&t=101
Our capital is literally in the "Australian Capital Territory"
@@TylerMarkRichardson 😂
He is just like me. Keep things simple.
Northern terriotry💀
Western australia💀
South australia💀
Australian capital territory☠
Northern territory's name should have been kingsland not gonna lie
Western australia, maybe new holland i do no
South australia should be adelaine a bit different from adelaide but yeah
Canberra
Well presented but the way you pronounced some of the Australian place names made me laugh as an Australian myself 😅
Another great video Andy & team! I'm curious to learn more about the underground homes. 🤓
Thank you Kamari for the continued support! We'll look into it.
Such a complex issue, well presented Andy and team, certainly hoping that for the worlds sake, Australia does move to more green energy solutions! Keep up the great work with the channel
Absolutely! Thank you for the support!
We need to sell coal as we have the cleanest most energy dense coal. If we don't sell it, less efficient coal will be used.
I'm not aware of any "early" treaties between European (well British actually) settlers/governments with Australian First Nations peoples (that this video states were apparently broken). It is only in 2023 that constitutional recognition is even starting to be considered. Also it is really only by Western European standards that the majority of the country was considered unhabitable, though with climate change this is becoming more evident for everyone. The top exports of Australia are Iron Ore ($118B), Coal Briquettes ($54.3B), Petroleum Gas ($39.2B), Gold ($17.6B), and Wheat ($7.36B), exporting mostly to China ($138B), Japan ($47B), South Korea ($29.4B), India ($20.5B), and Chinese Taipei ($13.2B). Sadly even the new government has returned us to the UK and the USA with AUKUS instead of bringing us closer to the countries in our region as shown by the export numbers.
A capitalist country with a mostly egalitarian, socialist population. What could possibly go wrong?
Great video on my homeland thanks for the upload
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
Having just watched your Singapore video, sounds like Australia could sell some sand to them? Loving these videos, brilliant
We have actually sold Sand to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Apparently the sand they have in abundance is not good for cement and concrete. That little factoid surprised me almost as much as the fact we sell that part of the world racing camels as well. As uninhabitable as Australia's interior appears to be, it is a fine place for feral camels to grow. In fact, it's better than Arabia. Weird.
Nice sharing keep it up
wtf this vid has only 8k views/// good luck to you mannnnnnnn......ur content deserve much more
The research is poor whilst he's talking about the outback he shows a cassowary from the jungle.
Many facts are incorrect
More interestingly is that most of the advancements in solar technology have been made by government funded scientists in Australia... but due to the lack of incentive to build solar, such technologies usually end up being sold over seas.
Doomed. J. Trump. Are. We keep doing that stuff for. Australia app ❤. Trump. ❤
exponentially increased my Australian basin knowledge with this vid
Yas Phil 🇦🇺 next week I think we will have some even more intriguing Australian facts coming at you, from a territory they claim rights over, that’s complete the opposite climate the outback… (foreshadowing) 👀 🥶
The land down under be like 🥵
Bro it’s so hard to sleep my bed gets drenched and so am I because I sweat so much as the temperature is to hot
Shut up u from uk
Could you guys do a vid about new zeeland
Still plenty of descendants of convicts left, especially in the govt...
We tend to pronounce Coober Pedy to sound like koo buh pee dee. Whereas, we pronounce Rolf Harris to sound more like a pedy.
British convicts can be found in the USA, Canada and later Australia…
Those that came to Australia got the best deal. I mean, who the hell would want to live in the USA or Canada, or the UK. It is the sunburned country for me.
And their descendants now make up the governments of each country.

just a thought, but perhaps re-investigating into feasibility of Bradfield scheme to address flooddraught, energy by making use of outback for renewable energy, boost agriculture workforce, encourage population redistribution (urban->regional), and perhaps lot more potential not mentioned. Apparently Barnaby Joyce was a big advocate until he became deputy prime minister? Hope we revive this noble vision by starting to give it more serious thoughts for resilience and sustainability which will prepare Australia for the worst climate events, exponential population growth and global food shortage. but perhaps money and immediate loss of opportunity costs is always the massive obstacle to general public and politicians.
"Large open tracts of land!"
Neither the Australian Government nor most of the Australian population have any idea about what is coming to the country over the next twenty years.
8:40 while human can fly on an airplane, raw material cannot, thus it's much cheaper to ship anything from china to australia (and vice versa) than china to poland
I love Australia! 🇦🇺
The video's good, but needs more Vegemite
Nice video but. The western side of the Blue Mountains is not desert. Its a massive area for agriculture. Australia grows most of its own food and exports 52% of its food. Australia grows just about every grain, vegetable and fruit. Every state in the country grows graps ( over vineyards )
1.94 Billion dollars. Tropical fruits in North colder climate fruits in the south.
Important to note, climate models suggest that Australia is one of the few countries to benefit from climate change. While some effects like cyclones and bush fires become more common, the increased rainfall across the continent in many areas from climate change will overall benefit Australia.
To be clear, there will be losers from it, but there will also be many winners. So suggesting Australia will lose out from climate change disagrees with current scientific climate models.
5:07 yes and why does Australia have just one operable reactor. Back in the 80s they passed a law banning their govt from having any. Funny that
Australia will slow down its coal mining as we shift in our economy with plans of underwater cables of powering all of Singapore with out solar panels
Bullshit, we should be powering Australia with solar panels. The Singaporeans can go eat rice.
when 70 percent of your country isnt habitable
Cambria??? Did you mean Canberra?
canbria is a new one
While I like the analysis of Australia's potential, all the other stuff he talks about in terms of our future is utter crap. Take, for example, the Murray-Darling area. It is currently mired in an environmental disaster of our own making and is considered, in most years in drought conditions, and dare I say there have been fights about the rights to use those waters. More and more farmers are leaving the area for a reason. Take the recent mass fish death in the basin. While we are doing our bit for solar power generation, it is expensive. It has only been recently, in the last 5 years, that anything has been done about renewables. Most Australians would recall in 2013, our then-PM was dead against renewables. Even we don't know where our future lies. However, we will plod along as we always have and usually, until there's a certain someone who will always appear and take us either kicking and screaming, or otherwise, to the future we should have. As for China, well, China does as China wants. So what does Australia do when China does something it doesn't like? We rebuke them, like former PM Scott Morrison, and then cry about it like a child when they don't do what we think and want them to do. There is also the discussion about China's intentions for Australia. To be blunt, it would be unwise, strategically for China to attack or invade Australia. They have enough problems at home and annexing another country with its supply lines stretched long and going through so many countries, it would be very difficult for it to pull off such a plan regardless of whatever financial backing, or otherwise, that it gives to other nations in the region. Also, may I correct him in saying that China is a net importer of coal. I am not adding anything further. The title is mislabeled as the video hasn't really said anything about Australia's future. It just regurgitates information that is freely available and no new nuanced information. While I like his take, sort of, on the UK's migrant problem. Now that is a good piece. However, this one almost seems like a plagiarised thesis at best with no real conclusions.
Lots of sand and rubble from mining. Why not sell them to Singapore.
Could you imagine putting solar farms in the outback haha. the natives will rip it apart in under a week haha
Not if they can profit from them they won't
Canbria?
While this video has the fundamental facts correct, it lacks nuance and ground level understanding of the issues at play.
Much like almost all foreign media and especially internet sources that assert themselves to be experts yet have limited their knowledge and scop to pure research from half a world away.
I would suggest, therefore, that should you desire real and accurate information on any domestic issue from any country in the world you begin with locl sources that boast experience and feet on the ground and move on from there.
This channel is cetainly inteligent and certainly academically informed.
What it lacks is ground level context and understanding.
It also rather annoyingly asserted its own political views and bias into this report and that is much harder to forgive.
STICK YOUR CLIMATE CHANGE WERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE!!
Can you do an update 😂
Canbria
Im fuckin scared for auzzies and im auzzie im movin
Tx
Hi
Hey Matt 👋
Can you do a video on how USA Industrialised so quick
Doomed. J. Trump. Says. He just got a big box man 👨. UKS. Are. Comes to. Australia app……
Listen to this propaganda guy about coal ..
How about those lithium mines and “artisanal miners” …oh i mean slave children…more solar farms…😂😂😂.
To america
What happened when the sun doesn’t shine or the wind doesn’t blow? Where do we get our power from?
hydro? Tidal? A smidge of geothermal?
When the Sun collapses and the atmosphere blows away we will have a lot more problems hen not being able to produce electricity in the mean time we could just use batteries
Go to bed when it goes dark. problem solved.
Climate change lol
green energy isnt going to make the fix, i support coal and you dont understand the political and economic consequences of ending coal.
AUSTRALIANS, INDIA is your SOLUTION !!!
Ah yes because Narendra Modi is such a nice guy right?
Taiwan ❤❤❤
so car nothing but a dog leg
