dave has got to be the greatest guy ever, truly a magnificent human being. only way to repay him would be to bring his business to the top, don't let the man down olexa and grant him the series treatment!
Hello Olexa, I don't know if you are going to read this. But just a correction, this game is not a Indie game and should not be treated as one. This is made by MINTROCKET which is a Subsidiary of NEXON which has a networth of around 19 billion dolars. MINTROCKET is the same "company" which allegedly made the Project P3 and is suing the Ironmace Study for allegedly stealing the codes of P3 to make Dark and Darker. Nexon is doing everything to not have it's name on the product because it can affect the sales given how much people hate the company due to it's business practices, but it's a NEXON product for all it's technicality. So yeah, while Dave the Diver is an incredible game and one of the best releases in the year so far, it's by no mean a Indie game and other indie games should not be compared to it because this game had a lot of fund put into development, so it's by definition a AA game.
I just had it suggested to me today while browsing on Steam and then also realised that I hadn't checked out Olexa's content in a while... The coincidence of seeing it on his channel, yeeeesss
Some facts for ya: If you're too close to a wall, harpooning the fish will just bounce off the wall. Time doesn't advance until you return to the boat, so you don't have to worry about "wasting time". The Restaurant does tick down after you open though. Dave's HP is his o2. So if you're running low, pop an o2 tank or an item. All fish have some form of HP, so smacking em with the harpoon will eventually 'poon em. Eel is a night hunting fish, so ignore the lil guy for now. You "Enhance" the taste with the same fish you loot. The game shows how many you need (usually starts with 3). Stabbing a fish gives you a 1 Star, harpooning is a 2 Star (If you pull in the fish into your bag), and Sleeping is 3 Star. This is important cause you get more ingredients from the catch the higher the rating of the catch . Once you make a weapon, you don't need to make it again. Just check your yellow box on the boat to see what items you got.
Nice quick tips! I have to correct you about stabbing fish. You can stab them until they almost dead and then harpoon them for 2 star. 1 star is dead fish, 2 star is fish caught with damage, and 3 star is sleep or net. Funny thing about 3 star is you still can get 3 star even if the fish get damaged, as long as it is sleep/net at the end.
Wow, I had just started watching a video about bosses in diver Dave and Olexa just releases a video on this game, awesome. But what is even better is an Evil Factory reference at 41:33, I love this game already
You could have harvested the parrotfish twice. Also your health IS your oxygen. Glad you like the game, I will say as you get more and more and more stuff it starts to get burdensome to play, but you can always ignore all that stuff and just dive.
I've been so addicted to this game recently. It's somehow good enough to pull me from Tears of the Kingdom, and that's impressive. I have about 21 hours so far, and could easily see going well over a hundred. It gets deep with the customization as you get further in. I'm excited to see you playing it now too!
Jellyfish doesn't really taste like much, but it does have a very satisfying texture, and you coat it in chilli oil and sesame seeds anyway so it's pretty good. Worth trying if you haven't before.
I couldn't wait for you to start playing this, I've seen another youtuber playing this a few months ago and though this would be perfect for your style of games. Thanks❤
I played this game a long time ago before it was fully released and finished, one of my favorite single player games, I played it to the end and enjoyed every second :)
Love your content, Olexa! I was on the fence about this game until I saw this video. Now I just bought the game to play along with you lol you're awesome, don't stop what you're doing! 😄
Hi! Fishes you put into the menu would disappear even if no one eats it. The auto supply supply the fishes from stock, if you got no stock then it does nothing. Upgrading menus cost ingredients (eg: the fish itself), so if you upgrade willy nilly you could end up having no fishes to serve. The game didn't explain this proper so I think this will benefit you ^^. Game is amazing, kept on giving even after hours.
2:00 a blue hole is an oceanographic ecological phenomenon describing a natural cavern in the bedrock of the ocean floor. It is not, in fact, some type of sex euphemism.

The game is so cute and I would love to see more! Though, I agree with some other commenters that this isn't really an Indie game, since MINTROCKET is a sub-branch of Nexon :)
Nexon is not the developer, it is the publisher. But.. you are not wrong about not indie, as there are two different definition of indie. The real definition is artists (or devs) that decide to go with publishers, but with indie games many times people throw that label around for small developers even tho the devs have backing of publishers.
@@RoseDragoness NO they are also the Developers, Nexon created MintRocket to trick people into thinking they are an Indie studio / to distance themselves from their name but they are actually just a Division / Subbrand of Nexon itself.
I feel like it’s not fair to call this game an indie game, Mint Rocket is a Nexon subsidiary and they have the infinite Maple Story money behind this game, if anything it’s misbudgetted
Good game for sure. I await the patch that removes the button mash from the harpoon to continue playing. Stopped playing about 6ish months back I think cause I can't just sit back and enjoy the calmish vibe this game had. Luckily the Devs know about the need to change the mash and plan to add options for it. So that's good at least.
I enjoyed the game so far but there's way too many mandatory 2GB updates on Steam right now; feels like every time I want to play I have to wait 20 minutes. And those are not content updates; you have to download the entire game just to fix a hand full of bugs - at least four times a week. This is some you could forgive in early access - but with a full release it's not unreasonable to expect smaller patches and that they come at least weekly; not dirty reinstalls being shoved down your throat every day. Feels like they're in full panic mode, despite the fact that I haven't experienced any troubles with the game as far as I'm aware - I'm just going to wait until they get their shit together.
The game is absolutely massive, like AAA game size. You can’t knock them for having bugs. There’s nothing absolutely gamebreaking, just some little bugs here and there. Its 2023, 2 GB updates are not uncommon for any game… seems like a really weird complaint
Nexon didn’t make Dave the Diver, they funded the company that did. Don’t punish developers just because you don’t like something their parent company did.
Would love a series on this please Olexa :) very chill. By the way when you "harvest" big fish there are multiple instances.
