    It always amazes me how far this Disease stretches across the DuBose line...Everything you're saying about Cade sounds like you're describing ME at each age you're discussing (right down to stealing but never violent, a shining star when in active Recovery, etc.). Praying for you! Know that you are not alone. Addiction really IS a family disease. Be strong, my family. Keep telling the story. One day we'll be free of this monster in our Bloodline forever!!! And THANK YOU for shining a light on the Dark Side of the Rehab System. Until seeing this, I had never even heard of a Rehab Broker and I've been through the system a few times across my lifetime. This is important knowledge! ✊🏾 💪🏾💙🙏🏾 (Alfred DuBose, Jr. Detroit, Mi)

      The broker part is so confusing, are they saying that someone from the treatment agency gave their son money and told him specifically to leave the treatment agency and go get high, then check back in again? Just so they could get a second 'bonus' for getting him to readmit? I can't seem to figure out if that's what they are saying or not.

      @@Bughugger Cade was clean 35-40 days and they could not find him a halfway house in Cali that would take insurance/had an open room.. so this broker Western Union'd Cade money - got him an uber to the WU to get the $$ and back to a hotel that he had paid for a room at and told him to "get dirty" I have a rehab room for you tomorrow morning but you have to test dirty to get in... that time getting dirty killed him almost instantly and the broker disappeared into the wind.... AND the rehab facilities never reached out to me about insurance afterwwards, etc... just instant silence from Cali, We have Cades phone where all of the WU and text messages about getting dirty took place and their convo about it.

    Mom, your voice and the way you.speak is full of love and sincerity. I have no doubt Cade knew he had the best Mom out there. Dad, the knowledge and dirty dealings of these broker situations most certainly have made you an expert on this topic. You are a necessary and important reference to other families who have lost loved ones.

    so i was a heroin addict in uk. Mum and wife tried persuading me to go in to a £40k rehab for which mum needed a loan. It just seemed so callous to me, someone else enriching themselves on my illness. I declined, and found a cheaper route to sobriety, one less predatory.
    Addiction is a serious illness, requiring a serious medical response. These 30 day in/out rehabs are a literal racket, and insurance companies should wise up to it and save themselves a whole load of money by putting people in programs which have a higher likelihood of success, even if they look at first the more expensive option. They are not.

    • @chancedubose8334
      @chancedubose8334 3 дня назад

      agree 100%.. INSURANCE companies will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to "get clean" over and over and over BUT wont spend money to "keep people clean".. my insurance could have paid the same or less to simply continue paying and REGULATING half way houses, sober living, etc... Help the addict get and STAY clean and back on track would cost the insurance companies and LOT less that over and over and over into "30 day rehabs"... It should be treated like any other medical disease... AND those who are uninsured should be covered by their governments programs, taxes, SS, etc...

I bought a new car.. and I am clean and have no cravings for any kind of drug whatsoever… methadone saved my life and I will eventually start to ween off of the methadone soon too… the methadone way gets a lot of flack and I don’t know why because it saved my life and I know it can save someone else’s life too…

      Mom, get your son onto Suboxone as soon as he is at least 3days off opiods!!!! When/if he relapses again, the drugs will have no effect! This will give him time to heal and seek counselling. 30day rehabs do not work. After one year on Suboxone, he can start to taper off slowly. "Methadone" clinics can provide Suboxone at a lower cost and most insurance will cover the cost. The 3 month injection has a higher success than daily doses. This comes from a 30 year addict that has been through all of this! Again, Suboxone,NOT methadone. You can still get high on opiods when taking methadone, most addicts still use. Suboxone saved my life, and my mom❤.

    When is TPD gonna run out of stories, families, and victims, where and when does this end? This is insane $250k this family GAVE IT ALL and still LOST their son. It is just a shame, the system might not be able to stop every addict as they make their own choices, but we surely shouldn't allow medical loopholes where they also are exploited. Then they are twice victims: once to their problems and once to money grubbers.

Yes she was an addict but she wanted to live and was trying to get help at that time. Her death and her boyfriend were never investigated by the police. We were told by the police what do you want us to investigate…she was addicted to heroine…she was going to die sooner or later.

      Yes because people want to say that they "made the choice"... but most make that choice not fully understanding the risk of addiction or thinking "no way I would become addicted" but people can become physically addicted to opiates after just a simple medical procedure or even dental procedure.. and if getting a drug from a "friend" that happen to get from a "friend" that drug could easily come from a dealer with no way of telling the difference and that could be the only time that person ever uses also...

    I had no idea about the rehab revolving door greed trap! It's so evil when ppl. as your son and others get used and abused that way! Unfortunately, I believe it's a sign of the times we are living in....alot of money worshipers instead of worshipers of God! We know of some Pastors that came and spoke at a church we were attending whose 16 year old daughter passed from fentynal overdose the very first time she had done any drugs! I'm so sorry for your precious son's passing , and will be praying for you and your family!

      They are so hard to keep up with.. they all going by multiple names and we obviously hoped the FBI/Orange county would have been able to work with my insurance to track the money
      but these places are very sophisticated and do a good job of insulating themselves... its highly unlikely that most of the people working on the ground at the facility fully understand what was going on also..

    I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my daughter last year to fentanyl poisoning. She was 27. I have the desire to do the same as you and go to schools and talk to children about the dangers of all drugs. I heard you mention your group of moms and wanted to know how did you connect with them. I would love to get a group together in my area. Thank you and god bless you. Cade and Veronica are probably hanging out up there together!

      There are many fentanyl poisoning related groups on Facebook. Fentanylfathers.org is one national organization focused specifically on bringing fentanyl awareness presentations to every high school and middle school in the country. I serve on the board.
      We also have a private Facebook group made up primarily of those who have shared their stories with us and those who wish to. That group has many awareness organizations represented and could be useful. If you'd like to join that group, email me (info@texas-pictures.com) and I can send you a link to join.

    Donna and I have sons that are almost identical. My son, Zachary, was in school for welding, and was an addict. Donna and I had Mama’s Boys. My son KNEW I was always in his corner 24/7. I fought side-by-side with him his whole life as he battled anxiety, depression, ADHD, and autism. Zachary knew his Mom was the one person who was always there for him. Zachary went to rehab, stole, lied, and, eventually, took his own life on 9/5/24. Cade and Zachary are so missed 😭
    I’m turning my fury into fuel, pain into purpose, and hurt into hope. It won’t bring Zachary back but if I can help others then it makes the effort worth it. Cade and Zack’s deaths were not in vain.
    I’m sorry to Cade’s parents for their unimaginable loss 💔

    On the Pacific Coast, when a junkie says they need or want to 'get well', that means 'Get High'. Just so everyone knows. In fact, I've seen someone who was authentically trying to get clean get triggered to use when they heard that phrase. Similarly, I've heard junkies say that to each other when looking for drugs.

    • @chancedubose8334
      @chancedubose8334 3 дня назад +1

      Yes 100% the term "get well" when spoken from one addict to another is almost always meaning "get well from being dope sick" .. but when an addict starts trying to find
      ways to beat the addiction by trying to go to recovery then you know they really are wanting to "heal"... it may take many times to accomplish this but recovery does happen
      and addiction can be beat...

    • @Bughugger
      @Bughugger 3 дня назад +1

      @chancedubose8334 YESS, it can be beat. It isn't easy, and no one can do it for you, but Many, Many people have come out the other side alive and well. So it is possible.

    You best believe if they are doing THIS....they are most definitely paying folks to go into highschools and colleges and so on,.....to get them addicted while they're just babies.
    They are putting this in vapes and weed. It's even being folded in money and paper menu...I desperately tried to warn mine about it, because nobody else is gonna. I'm so grateful for VANCE . I pray they do something about it 🙏

    Unbelievable that rehab support is not as above board as families might think. Of course they make money off addicts using their facilities but to actually solicit and pay them money to get high or find other addicts to admit to rehab so the broker and rehab center can make money is reprehensible behavior. Families can’t hardly trust the organizations that are supposedly out there to help. I hope this type of scamming is the exception and not the rule when it comes to addiction support. Condolences to Cade’s parents.

    I’ve NEVER heard of a rehab broker. Absolutely wild but not surprising I suppose. People are disgusting. A lot of rehabs are just money grabs. They don’t actually care. Even with decent insurance I almost had to file for bankruptcy for a family member due to rehab bills. Interesting thing is they never mentioned a medication that he could take that would greatly help. We had to figure that out on our own.
