How do you get to know the ins and outs of different specialties? Like if you are doing OB/Gyn and you start doing Dermatology. Do you recommend coding classes to get more flexible?
Great question. Sometimes, it's just learned through trial and error since you may already know the basics of medical billing. I would probably recommend doing your research on that specialty through webinars, in person events or Healthcare magazines, like the one AAPC has, that specifically talk about that specialty.
Here are two online classes I recommend 📘CCO PBB (Self Paced) - cco.pe/tdcpb 📘IPS MMB (Instructor Led) - ips-s-school-8c86.thinkific.com/courses/Mastering-Medical-Billing?ref=055d64
Generally, if the provider is established and does surgeries, I'd consider percentage billing, but that would also depend on if it's legal in that state. I usually don't charge hourly for billing services. Maybe if I was doing AR projects, credentialing or other project billing I'd charge hourly.
@jenellgordy1071 The link is in the description of all my videos or you can go to www.itsallmedicalbilling.com/book-online I look forward to speaking with you 😊
I don't do shadowing and currently I don't have a class. However since I am a certified professional biller instructor I would like to eventually start to teach.
Thank you so much for this information. I am in the process of building my business but I am also a 9 to 5er.
Same here!
Welcome to the club. And thank you for your support 😊

Hello. How do you determine whether to charge a hourly rate or percentage?

@MedicalBillingMaven How do I go about setting up a 1 on 1?
