- Welcome back to Don Critic. Today we’re continuing the journey through Namco’s Tekken series, with the next entry being Tekken 2 that released in 1996 (on the PlayStation). With a new protagonist, could this sequel excel the series beyond its original outing and into fighting game stardom?

New PlayStation Archive Score - A brilliant 9/10
The story and music though... Emotionless Passion and Be in the Mirror still slap hard to this day!
Tekken 2 still remains one of my all-time fighting games. I remember completing the arcade mode with every single character at least three times and this was probably only the second fighting game I ever played. Fantastic to see you cover it here.
1:18 - The Tekken series should not be used as a guide on how to raise your kids. It's interesting to see how lush this forested mountain was back then and how much more barren it's become as Hiehachi climbs his way out.
3:57 - Jun's story went in directions that one would never have imagined from the initial synopsis.
4:45 - Fascinating to hear how Roger and Alex got into the game. A nice of showcasing the animal plotline that initially connect Jun and Kazuya.
5:49 - It is stunning how much better the characters look from Tekken 1 to 2 here. The improvements they've made graphically from a single year deserves a round of applause.
6:43 - The Team Battle mode in Tekken 2 here is why I rarely stick to just having a single main. I always try to get a feel for multiple characters, partly for variety but mostly for fun.
8:55 - An I'm pleased to see King get a mention with his ending. It's a memorable one.
You're not lying. I played T2 before T1 so when I saw the graphics of T1 it was a major scale down.
Likewise; it was quite a shock. An holy heck those rival fights felt way harder in Tekken 1 as well. Perhaps because I couldn't tell what was a fist and what was a leg with some of the opponents.@@redwolfe7049
Having spent so many hours at home with Tekken 2 was a blast. Unlocking the characters, listening to the cool music, loving the aesthetic and the CGI endings. You're right though, a lot of endings didn't have substance but I enjoyed watching them still.
Obviously I want your channel to grow, I think having your titles like you did with the MK series would help?
Tekken 2 explained etc
I always liked going to pizza places and playing Tekken 3 in the arcade with friends cant wait for that episode!
The pizza place around my way was how I discovered Tekken 2 in the first place 😊
i love the tekken games they are really awesome fighting games.
tekken2 was very good for its time, I never actually played the original but found it fun when they had the first Tekken,2 and i think 3 as a bonus game thing in 5
This is a great entry. A good sequel for sure.
I can’t wait for Episode 3
Thanks for watching!
Pls are u no longer releasing mk explained vids
I did all the MK games up to the latest one and I’m waiting for all the DLC to come out before I cover MK1. Now I’m moving on to other games I enjoy
Again….. how do you not have more subscribers
Thank you, that’s very kind! 🙏
What happened to Tekken 3? I thought you would do all of them like you did with MK series
I’m going to do them all in one video once I get around to Tekken 8. It will come soon this year
