You know I would pop in here...and I do have a 19 GearUp in my garage. 2K miles in 2.5 weeks ownership. So far, so good.
Performance and gas mileage is much improved over the old EFI (had one of those) and the carbed ones (still have one) models.
About the video, glad to see attributions given to the videos of others! You all can use mine any time. Well done, factual, no-hype. They way it should be done!

Very good! Thank you. I have been looking for succinct and detailed info. on these since I first saw one. Every year model is so cool but this one really grabs me. In fact I think if I survive my lymph cancer after this treatment and they can get me to remission I'm going to celebrate by buying me one whether the wife wants it or not! :-)

Quirky, different & definitely a point of difference. I remember seeing these on the road in the former USSR in 1990 on a Contiki tour. Back then they were REAL spartan! Since then in particular I’ve always had a soft spot for em! Would be a nice addition in the shed that’s for sure.👍🏼😎
Always catch myself looking at Ural motorcycles sidecar problem so far over price unbelievable underpowered no dealer Network it's Honda made one I would have one in a minute

It's difficult if not impossible to kick start the Ural with the side car attached, i had one. They could do with an extra gear too.
what side was your sidecar on?

I have trouble seeing the 2000 dollar price increase for the Sahara over the gear up. Perhaps a rack and spotlight. Anyone provide me insight on this as I’m thinking about buying one.

wow those prices have really shot up since i had one .up by £10,000 now that's a jump. was tempted to get one but now ive seen the price , i dont think so
my neighbor has it in the garage, sold for $ 800..1988 model year.

Ive got one, needs an extra gear or two, you can't use the kick starter because it won't travel far enough down due to the side car connections, you can't buy a 'two wheel drive' in Australia because the side car needs to be on the right hand side for the gear connection. If it had a 'modern' BMW engine it would be great.

It’s not mandated in the States.
Yes it depends on what side of the road you drive. In Australia we drive on the left hand side of the road (vs the right hand side in the US). As a consequence our vehicles are right hand drive (driver and steering wheel are on the right). The same thinking applies to sidecars, rider sits on the right and passenger on the left. I expect the opposite would apply in the US, rider sits on the left and passenger on the right.

Flat battery wont start fuel injection bikes.2wheel drive is no good in countries that drive on the left.but all round still a nice bike.ireland says hi.
2 wheel drive is only for off road. you wouldn't want to drive it at street speeds in 2wd, side car can be mounted on either side
@@gunfighterzero Just to clarify your point there, the sidecar cannot be mounted to the other side on a pre-existing model, you can however order a model specifically with a left or right-hand side sidecar.

Ural needs 95 gas? Kawasaki bikes drink 91. No 2WD in Australia, is the price should be lower than other countries. And one more forward gear is necessary because nowadays most people have to drive /ride on highway before touching bumpy road.
Impressive and I am considering one, some misleading pictures on the Australian Ural site showing sidecar wheel drive on mirrored images. Also mention of 2wd on this clip ??. I am a bit disappointed that the Australian machines don't have 2wd option, or do they?
Hi Lyle, yes I'm pretty sure that the 2WD option is not available in Oz which I agree is disappointing. But to be honest it wouldn't really worry me personally so much as I would be mostly highway touring if I owned one.

You Will NOT be able to Kick Start the Bike on this one, or Any after 2014 do to the Electronic ⚡️ ignition..!!! It wil take a good battery that still has a minimum of 11.5 Volts remaining in it to get the bike running, then If your alternator is good it will run. 😎👍✅

I have been watching these for years and they are finally getting some things right, improved motor and fuel injection, all wheels interchange finally, disc brakes.. but they are charging a heavy price for these updates while still saying it's a fairly maintenance heavy bike with questionable reliability..
also the accessories are unreasonably expensive for what they are..
