"if you want to know what you look like just ask me." As someone who has struggled with anorexia and body dysmorphia (not to the degree of needing rehab) my whole life, this is what I do with my husband. I trust the way he sees my body so much more than the way I do, even though I know he's biased because he loves me.
Such a powerful line, and one I wish I had reinforced in my sister more when I had the chance. Glad to hear you guys have such a great relationship though!
Baby, he's not biased. He's lifting the veil and sharing the *truth.* The most important thing I read here, aside from that you have a reliable, loving partner, is when you said you are able to trust/trust him. You are worth loving.

I finally saw this on Peacock. I wanted to watch this because of the two leads, Courtney Eaton and Thomas Mann. I was expecting a usual Rom-Com but it wasn't. It is a love story but told differently. I have to give props to the director and apparently, she contributed to the script according to the credits. I really enjoyed it even though some scenes were very painful to watch. I thought it was brilliant. I have to give a shout out to David Bautista. It was a small role but great.
Just finished watching this, and it was such a beautiful movie! Sad and sweet and real, great use of shots and imagery to invoke the energy of whatever mood is being experienced. Kind of triggering when it comes to body dysmorphia, but for me it was a good kind of triggering? Idk. Like it was comforting to know other people have those thoughts and it made me feel less alone in the human experience. Anyways, hope everyone reading this has a decent day and just remember that even if you don't feel like it, you are beautiful and you're on this earth for a reason
sigo a Courtney desde el 2015 y siento que este papel y el de Lottie en yellowjackets finalmente dejan explotar todo su talento en la actuación y estoy muy orgullosa de todo lo que está logrando
I’m not exactly sure but I think Courtney and Thomas met through this film and they’re together now which is really cute. Anyway, this looks really good and I can’t wait to see it. Proud of Brittany, I remember her talking about her movie in a podcast ages ago so this is exciting :)
Is "dysmorphobia' an irrational fear ("phobia") of having body dysmorphia? Interesting mash-up. 😆 I don't think you "had anything" other than an overactive imagination and you being sold the idea you have something. Cheers.
@@friedmandesigns aww I apologize for the noob autocorrect. But tysm for diagnosing me and taking an interest in replying, you sound like you have a lot of time. I hope you're being productive. Byeiiii
At 4am I do a 5k run then I work hard all day, I might be a bit over weight but I don’t have time to think about it, by the time I get home I’m so fucked I want food and bed but my son wants so play Fortnite with me so I do that, I’m mentally and physically exhausted and I’ve not had time to think about how I look or how I feel about myself. This is most people, only people who are bored and somehow living off others have time to think about their existence and how skinny they are. Get busy, walk forwards, do your best for your family and your issues will fade away behind you.
I'm happy for you that you're fine, but this attitude is pretty condescending and not helpful for people struggling with mental health and body issues. It's also just wrong. Just because someone is "busy' doesn't mean they won't struggle with mental health.
@@Marinucas I'm ok because I put the work in! You can call it condescending or you can read the words, I've been paralysed with thoughts and I figured out with help how to get past it. It's not wrong, you only quoted part of the sentence. Moving forwards means leaving crap behind, caring about your family and yourself is key. Simplifying your life also helps. Dwelling on shit doesn't do anything for anyone. How about you clear the room of snowflakes and take responsibility for yourself instead of whining to me about what is fair and what is not. The world is harsh, people can be vile, if you have no resilience, build it or suffer.
next time just say you have never struggled with mental health and save yourself from writing a paragraph lol. Mental health is not solved by "getting busy", there are many highly productive mentally ill people out there, you might even know one or work next to one and never know it. Mental illness in not just feeling down or dwelling on useless thoughts, it's a chemical imbalance in your brain or it might even be genetic. And as you said in your comment, the world is harsh but sometimes for some pople their mind is harsher. Being empathetic is not being a snowflake fyi
I feel like this trailer cut is NOT doing the film ANY justice. It's very odd, It feels like a student film, but looks fantastic, with apparently, great casting, a premise that seems interesting. I just can't get over how the trailer makes it seem like the film is made up of 90% mid-level performances, which is weird considering all of the talent in this production. I'll still give it a watch.
"We identify as fragile!" is an interesting rallying cry for an entire generation(s) and epoch, eh? Negative species-survival trait, ultimately. But folks will have to endure learning such and living through that end-game on their own.
"Social" media cognitive dissonance is *the* quintessential negative species-survival-trait of the modern hominin epoch. Future alien archaeologists examining the thin, plastic-coated fossil record of now will note that "SocMed" engagement algorithms and their impact to societal division and cortisol response feedback-loops were the sunset of the humans.
eating disorders existed far before social media was created genius .. it might now be fueled by social media but to say that these issues would cease without it is just blatantly wrong
