1. Ferrari was founded in 1947, not 1943. 2. Ferrari only makes around 10,000 cars of all types per year, so producing 135 engines per day (675 per week, approximately 30,000 per year) is inaccurate, to say the least. 3. The video mixes in the restoration service with modern production in the middle, which causes all sorts of confusion if you don’t know about Ferrari.
Ferraris are only so expensive because everything is made by hand without machines. If a Ferrari were built like a Honda Civic, all done with robots, a Ferrari wouldn't cost more than thirty thousand dollars.
They take all this precision and care to build the cars, paint them and then before they ship them they destroy the paint cleaning up the car. They instill swirl marks and holograms and often along with scratches (which sometimes cannot be removed). This is an issue with their entry level cars all the way up to the most exclusive limited vehicles with triple layer paint option as well. I've personally had it on my Ferrari's and have seen it on other owners cars. I've seen it at the dealers. It is just a given and known issue among Ferrari owners. It is discussed often in the Ferrari forums. The first thing owners who care about their paint do is transport the car directly to a detailer for triple step paint correction and then PPF protection. Figure about 5 or 6 grand give or take depending on the car, how much damage from the factory and how much you wrap in PPF. Why doesn't ferrari fix this? I guess because people buy the cars regardless....myself included. Maybe they figure customers will paint correct, detail and wrap so why bother showing any care to the paint before shipping. Some have told me they wash the cars after the test drives with wool mits and don't do best practices so the paint takes a beating as a result. But if yo can deal with that the cars are reliable, fun, gorgeous, fast and amazing.
I laughed at another video stating that Honda is the only one who makes cars. Then I reply, are they HANDMADE? No, Honda is not the only one and does not build cars by hand. Another Japanese fanatic lives in a delusional world of make-believe. Among the few auto manufacturers, Ferrari still builds cars by hand, even though robotics is still used. This is where REAL craftsmanship is still being applied.
What wrong with Japan fanatic? Fanuc, Makita, Mitutoyo, and so many CNC machine tools made in Japan. Without Japan and Germany technology producing car not like present.

Awesome video, love seeing that level of detail. One thing i dont understand is that you mentioned each car takes about 3 months to build and also that the engine guys produce 147 engines per day. To me, building 147 engines in a day seems to be too many. For example, there are 64 working days in 3 months, that means 9,408 engines would have been built in 3 months, which is the same amount of time you are saying it takes to make one car. According to google, ferrari makes about 10,000 cars per year, so making all the engines for the year in about 3 months seems off to me.
That video is just one big mess, it's mostly taken from another source and weirdly cut and glued together. Besides, it's showing all different lines as one big process, but there is actually one production line with another for special serie cars and also another kinda of workshop for ferrari certified classics and here is everything together shown as one...

I'm sure they make engines for other car producers.
@@mjohns5944 Like Who? I have never heard of them doing so.
@@arthurm4726 Maserati (or they did). They also make lots of spare engines for racing teams. But 30k a year seems a bit over the top.

The inside of the engine block looked like quality from the 50's, I can't believe they get so much for such crap components?
the engine you saw at the beginning was a v12 probably from the 1950s being restored
