Yes, Eco mode basically dulls immediate throttle response to save fuel consumption. Even when shifter is in S mode, it will be fairly dull with throttle inputs. Ideally the eco should turn itself off automatically in S, but that’s the way the Civic is. I too have this one, so I know.

1st thing to add here... 1. The Econ mode is on which limits ur gear shifting time. So turn off the ECON. 2. Turn off the AC. 3. Launch the Car at 2500 rpm with full throttle. 4. This depends upon the owner but he needs to use a K&N conical air filter as the company Airfilter is literally the worst ever as it slows down the air intake. This is all you have to do launch a Civic. Yes the CVT gearbox is the worst ever when it comes to launching no doubt but I own a Cuvic ZX nd I had literally smoked a GLA on rolling. The CVT is built for fuel efficiency only 🤦
