Yeah. In my opinion, it's all about the love of music. Sure, some brands are lower quality and some are higher quality, but it really comes down to the installation and tuning. I can take an all Boss or Pyramid system and install it and tune it really well and it's going to sound surprisingly good. On the flip side a person could take the finest equipment and install it and tune it poorly and it's going to sound terrible. So the whole idea of picking on or bullying someone just because they run an entry level type equipment just doesn't make sense.
I like what u said about bashing people Jerry. People run what they can afford and are able to do. There is no build where someone should be bashed on as they are learning and growing. Putting people down just discourages new bass heads and thats no good for anyone.
Skar has made me happy so far and just like you said as long as you don't abuse your equipment and have adequate voltage you can make any woofer last 💯

People would ask real questions and the comments would turn into a cesspool of people bashing one another and the op. Its beyond stupid. Its also got a ton of people believing they have to spend money they cant really afford to hang which is total bs.
Try to learn as much as you can before putting your money down. I also recommend buying an inexpensive DC clamp meter and seeing what kind of amperage your electrical system and amplifiers are actually pulling at different frequencies, you can learn a lot doing that.

Yes, if you can afford it, try to run double or triple the power. Sometimes you actually do get an abundance of power and sometimes the impedance rises more than you think and you don't have as much extra power as you thought, but you still have enough.
@gorgonismztruth- Because of impedance fluctuations that occur during musical playback, it is normal for the average impedance to get 2x to 4x the lowest wired impedance. Example: A 1 ohm stable amp, wired to 1 ohm, will normally only be putting out 2 ohm, to 4 ohm power, while playing music. So if you wanted to have 2x your subwoofers rated power( lets say 2- 1,000 watt r.m.s. Woofers= 2,000 r.m.s total, x 2 for headroom power= 4k), available from an amplifier(s), if wired to 1 ohm, your amplifier(s) would have to be capable of 4k, @ 4 ohms, to account for impedance rise/fluctuations!

My 2 DS18 exl-xx12.4dhe in my trunk hit hard as hell for 2 12's. I have them in a sealed box running on half of my 4 channel highs and mids amplifier. I have a JP63 that I am getting ready to put on them, but for now, they are running on half of my JP10.4.
i could see you in a 00-06 burban thats painted same color as ur jeep and a lift. Plus u could fit 4 alts on a blueghost bracket. i say DO IT! run 12 15's in a 6th
@JerryAintLoud- Jerry just tune your subsonic filter, (tech. the wrong word= should be infrasonic filter, if limiting or filtering out 19Hz and below) Example: 1st disconnect all subwoofer wires from amp outputs, then put your dmm leads in the amp outputs, find a safe volume= subwoofers don't bottom, that you can play the lowest freq. you play, say 15Hz, and lets say @ volume 28, @ 15Hz, your amp puts out 50 volts, with your subsonic off/turned all the way down. Then turn your deck volume up to 32 or 33, and while playing that 15Hz tone, turn the subsonic filter up till it limits that 15Hz tone to the safe 50 volt output. Now you can demo with high power, and not bottom out your subwoofers. ❤️ your video's!
It is very hard to compete with some of the demo extreme trucks. When it is all steel cage and steel roof floor and dash it is hard to keep up with those guys. My new build the limitations are gonna be the doors and side glasses

If u get a suburban get a new body style like 2000+ with the 5.3 in jt, the 5.7 belt system isn't very good for more then two alts. Some ppl run more then two but as a driver jt isn't reliable. I have tried every which way to fit three 400's and it judt would not work with all fields fully on. Also the newer burb has much better door hinges
I'm currently running a wolfram 7500 on two dc audio level 6 15s. I bought two jp83s that I'm gonna put on them. But I do plan on buying at least two more level 6 15s in the future. But the level 6s are rated 4500 rms and 9k max. I'd rather have more than enough power and not overwork the amps than not have enough and really hurt the amps
I bet those 2 15s are still hitting pretty hard on the 7500, though. I have 2 12s, just like Jerry's 15s, running on half of my JP10.4, and they are hitting hard as hell. I have a JP63 that I am getting ready to put on them. I can't wait to see how they sound with the JP63. I had an Orion HCCA 11000.1 on the 12s and blew them. The voice coils were fine, but the spiders separated from the triple joints. I reconed them, and they are doing amazing on half of my 4 channel, but they will do better once I get the JP63 in. I also have 2 JP13.2AB's, but I don't have any room in my trunk. 🤦
4th orders can get windy as heck rule of thumb is 2to1 ratio but 3to1 can work well you just gotta play with them 4th with small sealed sections help give your subs more power handling just invert them for better cooling in the 4th
There really isn’t a rule for ratios. The bigger the ratio the peak is higher. A music 4th yes 2-1 is great but a spl 4th can be a huge ratio like 15-1, just because it’s a 4th order it doesn’t mean it’s louder then a normal ported box.
I don’t do demo competition builds just daily driver builds. Right now I’m running two fi audio mt 12’s each on 5k watts. That’s about as good for a daily driver
Hey Jerry getting everything ready to attend my first show just got the alternator and SCIB bank and I'm trying to figure out a couple good 15's that I can put in the trunk that can handle a good 8k all day and not have any issues I want quality even if I have to finance it I want something I don't have to worry about blowing while I'm trying to learn and get into competitive audio

In a ported enclosure they will be happy with that much power, I run a smart five per 18 I run 8 subs 8 amps. Tbh the smart fives are almost to much for a three inch coil

An infinite baffle just isn't going to give you high SPL compared to some of the other enclosure designs. With no enclosure or backloading they just can't handle the power that they're rated at. It's great for a sound quality build, and enough cone area can get pretty darn loud, but there's definitely a lot of limitations.
@JasonWW2000 your now wrong but if your creative enough you can fit alot of cone area in that jeep that one guy in the van was doing 170+ with 4 24s I believe definitely crazy
