After five incredible weeks of adventure in India (which we've been sharing over on @TheNewbysExplore ) we get back to business, albiet slowly and a little bit jet lagged - watch this space for some VERY exciting huge projects starting next week.

Seeing Joal with your kids is the most amazing thing. How many other 17 year old boys do you know that are that kind and tender to someone else's toddler aged children. Most are off doing their own thing. JOAL is as hard working as John is in every way. His parents must be so proud of the man he's becoming. Thank you, Joal, for your loving tenderness and time to your neighbors.

It's nice to see you back and enjoying the farm. I'm glad you understand the Portuguese soil. Just dig it, plant it, and harvest it. There is no need at all for the raised beds... that is sacred land, everything grows.

My mom visited India way back and would be aghast at the growth of the population and pollution. I'm so glad that you have returned home and have gotten out of the pollution. My eyes watered for you! The boys seemed to get right back into projects!
Please don't think that whole of India has pollution . There are many beautiful peaceful quiet places in india too !! Sadly , Foreigners visit cities like Mumbai, jaipur and Delhi and say that india is highly polluted and populated . It has one of the oldest civilization in the world !

Great video-the boys are just blooming! I couldn't help but notice how beautiful the bird song is while you work around the farm. I raised my my daughter and son on 135 acre in the country in Wisconsin and they just love being outdoors with the creeks and trees and caves Meadows animals my daughter continued to have a lifelong interest in nature

Canada as you do in your hillside "Garden of
Eden!" in Portugal. We have an abundance
of newcomers coming to our country to all
find their "little piece of heaven!". Different
people make you stronger and more tolerant
of others in our big "melting pot of life!"

What a well joined family you are! I am so impressed by Crusoe, he has that lets get on with it attitude. My children all run around with no socks, slept outside in all weathers in the UK! And MR John, we have July temperatures in the south at 24 to 30 in Finland! 🇫🇮 ❤

We put in a hose with little holes and an automatic (non electric) timer set for 20 MINS in the late afternoon and it made a huge improvement to the plants around a chalet in a very hot summer without having to think about it. THis would work for you too.My goodness though I love India I am so glad you are all safely home and well!

I bet it feels so wonderful all the way down deep to your soul to be home. I so get it. As I was watching Sawyer and John by the spicket. I saw that Sawyer was not really putting everything in his mouth like a lot of little people his age seem to do. He seems to want to try to build or create with it like he see's his whole family does. And I think that is because he see's his big brother also participate in everything. It is just so awesome to see them develop, Crusoe has grown so much and now we get to see Sawyer too. Wow. You have a right to be so proud of what you have done with them.

another easy project for you would be the greenhouse, it's looking rather algae covered & only need a quick wash with a broom ;
great idea having taps in convenient places to water other nooks & crannies where the plants grow, it will be so pretty around the tiny house you won't want to leave :))

What a contrast! I just finished watching your video in Jaipor, followed by your return to Portugal. What an overload of sights and sounds! Although the sights of India was more than anyone could possibly take in, it was the background sounds that really had an impact on me as I watched your videos. The cacophony of sounds that resonate throughout India consisted of; people talking, feet tapping, pigeon wings clapping, horns honking, rats scurrying, car engines gunning, goats bleating, vendors selling, the sweet, excited voices of your lovely children, and so much more. Then there are the sounds on your return home video which was such a contrast. It consisted of; melodic bird songs, rooster crowing, shovels digging, and once again the sweet, excited voices of your lovely children. Awww, peaceful at last. What a great adventure and experience for you and especially the boys.
Thank you so very much for sharing your journey. I'm truly amazed by your beautiful family. Your children reflect your parenting in the best way as you patiently teach, guide, encourage, love and protect them without being overly protective. You're wonderful role models of kindness, hard work, joy in the little things, curiosity, adventure and bravery, just to name a few.

I can't believe the weather, your last video there was really I'm guessing was only coming into winter, now it's spring, I could have cried with the feeling that came across, you can tell that the sun has strength in it, even before you said the temperature. I love spring the start of a new year were life starts to wake up again, you certainly have very short wires there,( should I re locate!) . Love the bare feet brigade , Crusoe is such a little worker, but kids love to help and be part of what your doing, they don't realise that they are learning so much, you are truly blessed with a wonderful family in a wonderful place, but in return you share it with us, so thank you.❤❤

Your family works so hard to make your farm work so well for you. Sawyer is getting around so much better now. Crusoe is such a big help, it’s beautiful to see. You all look so happy to be home, and the chickens are thriving! So glad you made it back safely and I’m genuinely looking forward to what next comes. Much love ❤️

Is that what they call that tool up where you are as in the Algarve we call it a shover . Good to see you back on the farm it is such a wonderful place and will be magical when you have it all the way you dreampt. Crusoe really is a lovely boy and like you said his language has come on in leaps and bounds , also sawyer his smile is infectious I think he is going to be just as lovely as his brother . Yes the weather is amazing isn’t it ! Not having to wear a winter coat scarf and gloves , that’s the wonderful thing about Portugal most of your life is spent outdoors rather than shut in four walls . ❤❤

Lovely to see you back home on the farm…I know that feeling of readjustment so well…and always the excitement of travelling is balanced by a deeper appreciation of what we have. Time to settle in and start planting seeds and get stuck into the next big project with gusto…like Crusoe and his badza!
