- Oh Pokemon Showdown.... I was just chillin with the OU chat, and someone decided to satisfy their own ego and link one of their live battles, I decide to watch the battle and figured the result was worth uploading, I hope you guys enjoy the video! Never be a sore winner especially this low on the ladder lmao. Also, don't flame me for using a stall team, it's a new archetype I like to call stall offense or fake stall.

I predicted a Venusaur switch in and OHKO-ed it with ice beam. The opponent forfeited next turn.
The best feeling ever for me was when i earthquaked on a soar mitt predicting a gent at switch. They had rocks and spikes up
I think what I love about this is that the Talonflame guy clearly knows what he's doing. He's got coverage, trades well, knows how to hand large threats. Bu also has like no idea the meta has changed. Meanwhile, Rosaura is all up to date on Smogon sets, but has no fucking clue how to actually use them or WHY they exist. It's like a perfect juxtaposition between the good kind of noob and the bad kind
On the surface, Toshi looks like a new player, but in the battle he know how to use Pixilate, makes predictions and wins with casual pokemon.
And let's be honest this Rosaura person barely even knew what was going on lmao.
I mean, he is just as bad, he used psychic instead of hyper voice against tapu koko for absolutely no reason and basically threw pikachu away, not to mention blizzard instead of ice beam on greninja and stone edge instead of rock tomb on breloom, don't mistake smashing random buttons and getting lucky with 50/50 as skill.

That Tapu Koko is all I can think of everytime I rewatch this video. If you are going to use screens on your team, ACTUALLY USE THEM FOR YOUR TEAM. But because they just copy-pasted the set without even reading a word of why it exist, they didn't understand that

My togepi in gold had metronome against lance. He was my last pokemon and was like lvl 20. Lance missed his move, togepi used metronome, metronome became horn drill and he fcking hit that

We were all newbies who thought running Hydro Pump on Gyarados was a good idea or Leftovers Chansey was the right path to take at some point in our lives. If you've got time to mock why not throw someone a bone and help them out?

@@davidbronstein2040 basically they made all oppressive mons next to useless instead of simply tier shifting and or making more tiers so people cant complain but no instead were gonna nerf low use rate mons like darkrai and others because they have a move or ability that gives them a slight edge in there field that would be like if konami took a yugioh card and next edition reprinted it but with half of its abilites cut away like seriously all the mons they nerfed were legends or sudo legends based off there stats its like they didnt expect the good mons to be in top tier or something

Joan Aguayo Planell in my experience when it does hit something that’s not a special tank or resistant to it it can one or two hit KO just about anything.

I’d seen this guy in chatrooms before the video and came out, and now he gets teased everywhere he goes. These videos are sort of funny but in the future I think he should censor people’s names. The guy in the video seems not too happy about it, and its sort of sad to me because while I didn’t know him I would talk to him in various rooms and I don’t see him on showdown nearly as often anymore. I don’t think this video was intended to make people give this guy tons of hate, but it blew up and now this guy is pretty much bullied which seems wrong.

Y’all already know we sackin ferrothorn to a manaphy in 2018
My max attack and speed ferrothorn couldn't handle tail glow.
There was a time when I was using manaphy, I used tail glow 2 times under rain to sweep, and the guy sent out ferrothorn. That thing scared the remains of my team so much that I simply just used an in rain +6 hydro vortex in coming out of a surf just to guarantee the KO.
Update on Rosaura, they were apparently banned indefinitely and there highest ladder score is 1118

tbh the most fun I have is coming up with double battle combinations that I think are funny.
My personal favorite is a gen 8 Doubles UU team that consists of a Hydreigon named Lucius and a Gardevoir named Narcissa.
I once had a battle with a rain team guy on PU, he kept complaining about how my seaking was a rain team counter when in the battle he used an electric move and got absorbed by lightning rod. And I was like bro?? I'm not swift swim gtfo
Eventually I had to call a mod because he kept insulting me through pms and complaining on the pu chat

@Jeffrey Sweeney There are worse things. At least that makes a little bit of sense since in OU, past 1100 elo is 24/7 Lando T. But i can recall some people running hidden power fire for Ferrothorns or Hidden power flying because they didn't carry something like Flynium Z and fly or more shit just to counter one mon. I'm still guessing some smogon strategies because my head goes like "ok, but why tho"

@@juliobortoni6154 not every lando ought to run flyinium and even then, defensive with flyinium bounces off it. Ur right in that hp fire is niche but it is usually just used on scarf lando/defensive lando for teams REALLY weak to scarf kart.
Ultimately HP ice is more useful for catching other Landos trying to pivot in to provide damage output for other members and delivering a decent chunk on zygardes, rendering a revenge option to +1 zygarde or for a defensive lando not to be set-up fodder for a coil zygarde.
@@Ryo-uu7sw Flynium is mostly exclusive to offensive/pivot landos due to the raw damage or the removal possibility. Hp ice is better also for countering now gliscor. Kartana is more of an oddpick nowadays since using him and ferrothorn opens up a huge weakness against fire, eq or focus blast, you end up running one or the other (i tend to run the latter). It's still for me very niche and mostly when you think how better is hp ice against rain teams id needed be, neutral dmg against both kart and ferro and now gliscor which is becoming a good defensive pivot that counters toxic and answerd back with toxic

This guy made two whack chokes. First, thinking the opposing Gren was specs. And secondly, if he switched Gren out on the Garde, sack the useless Koko, so he can lock himself into Hydro Pump he could of won. Yeah he would have to hit 2 of them, but at least it’s a win con.
2:45 smogon truly is great with these high octane sets. Only true Rick and Morty fans could come up with such a concoction; truly impressed.
To be fair, the set isn't bad. It's the idiot piloting it that's the issue. You don't save your fucking Dual Screens Koko that long... it's there to support your sweepers. Not U-Turn sweep.
The real issue is copy-pasting the competitive set without having any idea on how it's supposed to work. I'm sure that set worked well in a specific team, played in a specific meta in a specific way, but if someone copies it to some casual match against noobs and has no idea what to do it's going to look stupid

@@pigeon3933 Volt Switch IS better than U-turn. The only problem though, is that since this set is going to be used on agressive, momentum reliant teams, losing a turn is often a high risk you don't want to pay.

You never know what odd strategy someone might attempt. I’ve surprised a ton of people by using Specs Slaking to get a cheeky kill against a weakened opponent

@@Mariewolf_94 it's just coverage for mons and sets that are already popular. they're pretty dumb, especially in singles, where you can just get hard walled for not having stab. (this is _incredibly_ uncommon, but not all mega aggrons run heavy slam and can be walled by togekiss if they only have body press. I don't play higher tiers enough to think of any other examples lol). smogon also assumes that players using these sets actually know how to use things like fast pivots/screens.

What are the damage figures for -1 resisted U-turn against the average Lando-T anyway? Because I'm not convinced that it's a worthwhile investment, especially with Arena Trap's ban eliminating a problem with Dugtrio coming in on Volt Switch.with
Running the Electric move while simply switching out against a Ground-type just makes more sense to me.
Gengarzilla If Lando eats a Volt switch and then you have to switch manually, Lando gets a free turn. That’s no good.
But it's pretty much getting a free move anyway, we're talking about a base 70 power resisted non-STAB move after Intimidate. Hardly something to hold in such high regards over a hard switch when Landorus never carries something like Block.
I'm just not seeing why a little bit of negligible chip damage on one very popular roadblock makes an overall handicap supposedly so much better.

It's a Tapu Koko using U-turn in a meta where Arena Trap is banned. Just use Volt Switch and do hard switches for Ground types. This action is allowed, contrary to what VoltTurn fans insist.
