The 1989-1990 Spurs season saw the biggest single season turnaround in NBA History, as the Spurs improved from 21-61 in 89 to 56-26 in 1990. David Robinson was the unanimous choice for Rookie of the Year, the Spurs won the Midwest Division title, and advanced to the 2nd round of the 1990 NBA playoffs.
I bought this tape and watched over and over again. I remember celebrating the Midwest Division title like it was a championship.
This 1990 team along with our 1995 spurs team we're the closest we got pre duncun to reach the finals to win it all. These we're the hardest year's to watch growing up. Because something would always happen to go against us to win. But the year's of those losses helped our veterans use those experiences to win finally in 1999.
Spurs almost knocked off eventual Western Conference Champions Portland. I think they would have matched up better with Detroit.

This might've been the year the Spurs turned things around, but I'd bet that they could only imagine what would be in store for them a decade later.

@@TheSub-SaharanAmericanLegend Robinson was drafted in '88 but didn't join the team until '90, cause Navy.
@toysnaplaviscus no Robinson was drafted in 1987, not 88. 88 he was playing with Team USA and they won Bronze medal. He wasn't playing in the league yet until 1989 season and became Rookie of the Year 1990
