  • Using my Epson ColorWorks C6500Au to make laminated stickers with BOPP material instead of vinyl. This printer prints a lot faster than my Epson Eco Tank I have been using for laminated vinyl stickers. Time is money & this Epson ColorWorks C6500Au can save you lot's of time!

Hi. how does ET-2803 work on eco-solvent ink? it's not designed for that. The ink will dissolve all the plastic. How long has this printer been running for? Great job. like.

Do you have proof that the plastic will dissolve? I've never heard of this & have experienced no problems. Many people have been doing this for years. I've been using mine for 2-3 months.

Some parts will be melted if using normal eco solvent ink. I guess he is using waterbased eco solvent, it milder so it will be no issue. Yet, it is also degrade printhead life than dye or pigment ink.

@@Technobby Yes the word "Eco" means it's water based. To the best of my understanding (but I'm no expert) ALL eco solvent ink is water based. There is no "normal eco solvent or water based eco solvent". You have either "Solvent or Eco Solvent.

@@mikesstickers Normal eco solvent is solvent based, the solvent is milder than solvent ink.
I assume you are using waterbased eco solvent if don't change anything in your desktop printer.
You can try normal eco solvent generally use in large format print like Roland BN-20, I could guarantee you that your desktop print will leak within a few days due to melted parts like damper, pipes etc.
I learned it the hard way already.

what is the purpose to switch to eco solvent ink? I think I will grab an ecotank too

I'm certainly no expert on printers but from my understanding, Eco Solvent ink is more durable & less likely to fade or bleed. HP Latex is what I want & what I will be using once I can afford the printer & all the new equipment I will need to go with it.
