    Just a rule of thumb here for the people clicking on this video...1) If it sounds too good to be true, then it is .2) If a RUclipsr is posting an "easy" way to make 6 figures with "no skill", then you can bet the market is already saturated and you'll never see many sales, let alone 6 figures. 3) Creating an "easy" product and putting it on saturated markets like Etsy is not going to work without significant marketing efforts outside just having an online shop. 4) Don't reward a RUclipsr with views for a clickbait video like this. Remember, their only interest is their channel growing to make them money.

      The cruel thing is, that by interacting with the comments, you boost engagement which then shows the video is interesting and has the algorithm pushing it even more. Downvoting shows that there is a polarization and the algorithm takes that to mean not only is a debatable topic, but also a topic people are interested in...can't win.

    What I would love to see is a video covering actual sales and success/failure after doing this regularly 6 months. There are a number of things that are easy to make (like this). The problem is that it's easy for other people to do too, so the market becomes saturated. The store you are showing that are taking in six- and seven-figures...Most of them probably have several streams of income and/or crosspost like crazy to get sales and traffic from every possible avenue. For most of us, we probably work full-time and have families...It would be helpful to see how many hours actually go into making this successful (IF it becomes successful) and what the realistic journey is like.

    They can generate all they want, but to stand out against competition, small artists that have shops need to concentrate their branding. That’s the most important thing, and second being sharing your work process to people online (speed videos of designing stickers, packaging, talking about what it’s like to start) through tik tok and RUclips. People are more willing and happy to support artists who make stuff from scratch/ originals, and know their start up story, there’s more of a human connection of helping another human making and selling honest work- compared to some rando making a bunch Ai generated stickers that have inconsistent branding and no real human story. Branding isn’t just what content you sell looks consistent, or has a demographic it targets, or what it presents itself to what it wants to be, but the human story or the work process which connects to others identities that agree and support that brand. Don’t give up.
    If Ai art makes you wanna give up from making art, did you ever really like making art to begin with?

      Thank you for talking about this subject. You're like the only person who has and I'm surprised more people aren't upset about it. Some of the most influential artists I follow in the art community have made a huge uproar about AI generated images. AI CAN NOT create images unles it is fed images. Unfortunately, many artists work has already been stolen in order to "teach" the AI without their consent. It's so disheartening. :(
      This video is a great idea. But I can never feel right about creating a business using generated images from a data base of artists who get no credit.
      Even though AI can never make a truly original piece of art, it really is a punch to the face for artists who have taken years to hone their skills and make an income just to see an AI generate something similar and people make bank off of it.

    • @relevancy1123

      I can understand the ingenuity of artistry. The world, though, will constantly evolve. It's nothing we didn't know, coming into this world. It's nothing that should be unexpected to anyone.
      One of the first things people were saying when I was only 13 years old is "eventually, AI will be stealing people's jobs." For some reason, I find it odd that although we KNEW THAT, we still complain.
      Here's my advice to you:
      If you can't beat them, join them. Don't get bogged down by the ideology that your attempt at "authentically made merchandise" will truly matter in the eyes of a consumer.
      There's a big money wave incoming. Just like with BitCoin, just like with NFTs before they crashed... just like with anything else, there's going to be a small pocket where those with the initiative will take over and create generational wealth for the people they care about.
      If your ego trumps your family's well being, then so be it. If, though, making a financial dent in the world and living comfortably is within your end goal... rather than complaining about it, I'd find ways to implement the technology presented to find ways to make some dollars. Honestly.

    🌟 This is probably the most informational, understandable, useful, and all-around idea inspiring video that I have EVER found on YT! 🏆 Seriously, thank you for making such a comprehensive collection of educational videos that are full of great tips but also enjoyable to watch. You manage to explain how to use many different AI programs, design and editing software, cloud storage platforms, and online marketplaces in a way that even a "tech challenged" newbie like me can understand and impliment.
    🛍️🛒 I had literally ZERO sales from all of the POD and sticker designs that I was making over the past year and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. But luckily I found your channnel three weeks ago, and after implimenting the ideas and tips that you shared, I finally made my first sale!! And then 47 more! I went from no sales to making over $1,000 in less than a month. Its honestly because of your videos, so I hope that you stay positive and passionate and please continue creating excellence. 😀🎖️🤩

    Your videos are awesome. One question with this particular one is about the end product. Where do you go to make your image into a sticker? I am assuming one of the print-on-demand sites you routinely mention, but you excluded this part of the process from your video and it is probably the most important element. Also, are these just single stickers, or are you making sheets of stickers (judging by your videos, I am going to guess it is both plus some other angles for market presence, diversity of clientele and usage, etc.)? Again, some more details on the processes for the end product and production thereof would be much appreciated.

    • @mindE10101
      @mindE10101 Год назад +12

      There are lots of print on demand companies that will print the stickers for you and send them to your customers. Ive been using Printful for years. It's probably not the cheapest but it is basically hands-free once you upload your design and create your Etsy listing.
      Printful also offers "warehousing" where you can order a lot of something and have them store it in their warehouse for you so that orders ship out faster. This is good if you anticipate selling a large volume of the same item.
      There are also some companies that will print large lots of stickers and send them to you to mail to your customers as they're ordered.
      A lot of people who have more time on their hands and want to cut costs buy a Cricut machine and print and cut their own stickers and then mail them to customers themselves. That is the cheaper way to run this type of business but it is way more hands on. It just depends on how much time and energy you want to put into your business. Good luck ✌️

    • @pirategrrl775
      @pirategrrl775 Год назад +9

      Besides print-on-demand sites, you have two other choices: make them yourself then send them to your customers., or have another company make your stickers, then they send the finished stickers back to you and you send them out to your customers.
      If you make them yourself, you will need to invest in a quality color inkjet printer because most sticker papers don't work with laser printers, vinyl sticker paper (trust me!), some sort of cold laminate to protect the stickers (it also makes them look very professional), and a cutting machine like a Cricut. You COULD cut them by hand, but its faster to use a machine if you are making a lot of stickers AND they look professional. I sell stickers, and I make them myself because I can put several different designs on one sheet of sticker paper if i only need a few stickers of a particular design. After you make your stickers, they are ready to ship out.
      If you decide to have another company make them for you then send them to you, there are a LOT of companies that do this. Sticker Mule is pretty popular, but I am personally not crazy about their sticker quality. Their minimum order is 10 of the same design--I think. But, you can order 10 of each design and have your own little stock of ready-to-ship stickers. These companies offer things like glitter and holographic laminates and stickers on different kinds of materials, so you can offer variety. I've ordered stickers from an overseas company, and I am impatiently awaiting my order to see how they turn out, since it can be hard to keep making stickers at home, especially for my designs that are more popular!
      As for sticker sheets vs individual stickers, you can do both with both of these methods or even print-on-demand. Printify let's you choose if you want to do individual stickers, or kiss cut stickers which are on a sheet. Making stickers at home, its easier--to me-- to make individual stickers because I can't quite figure out how to do the kiss cut with good results. Other companies that make your stickers then send you the finished product also do individual stickers or kiss cut stickers. Stickers sheets are good if you have a variety of one thing (like pandas doing different things like sitting, standing, eating, sleeping, etc) or a theme like pizza slices with different toppings, but you have to design the layout for the sticker sheet yourself. Stickers aren't just for kids, so consider that, too!
      Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk (lol!), I hope my info helps you!

From what I've seen, POD for individual stickers has a low profit margin and high shipping cost, which eats into profits when compared to other sellers. @FloriDS I think this might be good if you already have an established etsy store that can drive traffic or if you are comfortable paying for ads, but the amount you would need to sell to make any meaningful profit just seems way too high, and you are putting in so many hours of work with the high quantity listings method.
      I like the idea of stickers and they are fun to make, but you also have to consider that every sticker you upload is .80 cents per year. If you upload 500 stickers over time, that’s $400 on listing fees alone per year. I love Alek’s videos but this model doesn’t seem sustainable

    I’m not sure if anyone else in the comments have mentioned this. But you might want to wait for more advice from the Copyright Office in US and other countries. Using an AI generated work isn’t actually “original”, but a mash up of many copyrighted works to create a derivative art work, which is still protected under copyright laws. So just be careful. While you may be entering a saturated market, a big conglomerate or AAA company could come across your store that is grossing over $300k annual sales for example and the company takes you to court for derivative copyright. AI does not mean original

    Alek: "...but, in my opinion, making mock ups really brings your images to life." then doesn't ever really describe or define what a mock up is, or why it is beneficial. just talks about mock ups like everyone is already an expert.....great job teaching! 👍👉👌

    Although I appreciate the thought and effort put into this video, this kind of product adds to the waste we create as humans. Given the current situation with the planet, I find it an unethical option to have passive income.

    Man can y'all just leave art to the artists? This bums me out so much. People who design and draw their stickers from scratch are going to be left in the dust with how much faster AI can generate art compared to an artist from scratch.
    Also sucks it's using other artist's work. And I think there's a lawsuit going on for those selling AI generated stuff.
    Go find something else to do please. Put your time into something else if art isn't your thing.

      Your point is valid, but AI is the future whether we like it or not.
      That being said, tasks of many professions/roles will be displaced. The artists claiming to be affected by AI could still use that same AI and focus their design forte to actually weed out good designs from generic designs. They will be way more competitive than if an individual without an artistic background attempts the same thing. They should also master or get better at prompt optimization to get very close and realistic results. Those artists will be the artists that survive. The other artists will be left out, if they do not catch on.
      Another POV: I am a software engineer by education/training. Don't you think that AI could easily replace (not displace) many aspects of my tasks and responsibilities? In fact, this has already begun to happen. I am aware that it is not as easy to replace my tasks due to their technical nature, when compared to generating art pieces, but they are still replaceable.
      Anyone who will not catch on with the new technologies will be sadly left out, and that is the hard pill which many are refusing to swallow. This is just a matter of survival of the fittest, plain and simple.
      As harsh as my comment sounds, I don't mean to offend any artist or individual being heavily affected by AI, but the key idea is that you must adapt to survive!
      Good luck to everybody out there!

    Who on earth is buying these stickers ? Genuine question are you able to show your sales numbers on these and profit margain ? I think these would make little to no money profit wise from my experience doing this years ago.

    The stickers idea is good if you have a printer and cricut machine at home and do all the printing. Or if you pre-order and ship yourself. That what the Etsy people do because they don’t charge shipping and with standard envelopes shipping is very cheap. The print on demand will charge the shipping 4-5$ dollars plus 1,50$ for the stickers witch bring the total cost to 6,50$. And those stickers sells for 4,50$ free shipping. So, your not making any money with the print on demand on the stickers unless you do in house printing that bring the cost of shipping to 50cents plus 1,50$-2$ printing. So, you at max 2,50$ so now you can be competitive.

    Hi Alek, great video -- thanks for making it so informative, education & fun to watch. A question: why didn't you include the weblink to your webstore with these stickers you've created, so YT viewers could see and hopefully buy them directly? Another question: what are you pricing them at roughly?

      Hey! I don't want a bunch of people copying my stuff 😅 but you can download the stickers from this video in the description

    Besides of the fact you don't talk about the actual operation of a sticker store (which requires a MAJOR amount of skill and experience - spoiler alert, creating the stickers is the easy part)... nice video.

    Quick note: MidJourney doesn't use pieces of images; it generates something within a statistical space that is completely original and based on a noise pattern generated from a seed

    • @denizorsel1029
      @denizorsel1029 Год назад +13

      While being true, that statistical space is generated by studying lots of copyrighted images. A human can be inspired. Can we say the same for AI?

    Will it still work or it’s not because market is too saturated? You’ve just showed how to make a sticker basically but putting it on Etsy how to make it sell?)

  • @BlueCherryNice

    Or you could, you know, learn how to draw and create them yourself. Noone was born with the ability to draw beautifully. Everyone had to learn. But nowadays some people are just too lazy and want everything done in a minute. That's why they dont respect other human being who spent years on learning how to draw.
    Personally, I find this video disgusting. Artists all around the world are trying to bring the awareness that this app has stolen data from hundreds of thousands of artists and put it into their data bases without consent of the copyright owners, which is illegal. There is a lawsuit already submitted. It is simply wrong. Good for you for buying a commercial version but what did it do really? You are just paying the stealers.
    A different problem is selling them on Etsy, a platform created for hand-crafters to sell their goods. Do you even write in the title that all of your stickers are AI generated? Or you are you misleading people into thinking they are supporting a creative artist?
    You are not creative but wanna have a sticker shop? You can commission an artist to create a design for you. But stealing is a no no. Highly disappointed.
