I thought there couldn't be a better video of the restoration of a WW2 French sword (24 million views). But you've outdone yourself!
Unbelievable, just unbelievable!
Whys ur profile picture different did you change it?

Suggestion. Why not dip the whole thing in epoxy resin. All those pits and holes could make for a cool effect.
Ok....I admit....I'm impressed. I think this is my favorite one so far. You see these knife restores and they all use wood...I've never seen epoxy/resin handles...love this!!!

My favorite restoration channel is finally back.

Took a while for the objects ordered to rust.
My mechanics and his car has a word for you.
I know right!
Finally 😅
mymechanic is the ULTIMATE one btw, but this channel is great too!
0:50 I love how the rust jar just perfectly spins and display the label in front of the camera

Yup same thing
My 7 year old and I look very your videos. He is on the autism spectrum and recently told me.he wants to fix old metal things. So we found an old rusty pipe wrench in our garage and we have started to slowly restore it. So far a good vinegar soak and some scrubbing with a wire brush. Hoping to work with him on it more this week. It's been great finding an interest he has through watching your channel and has given us another way to connect with him. ❤
That is heartwarming
It truely is
I hope your 7 year old has a great life and you

I’m convinced this dude can bring back my dead grandma
Same
Bro, he restores, he does not bring people back from the dead, but, that is a funny joke.
Lol, bro can not only restore lost artifacts, but he can also bring back my great grandfather! So cool!
With new set of teeth and probably golden knee joint

The metal isn't turning white; it's turning the color of bare metal. It appears brighter because you see the contrast between the freshly sandblasted portions and the raw, rust pitted portions.
Also, the deformations and crevices in the metal allow the grit to scour tiny scratches all over but it's not smooth enough to achieve a mirror polish so what you're left with is metal that's clean enough to reflect light evenly but not smooth enough to reflect it perfectly, if that makes sense. It happens with any metal item that's sandblasted. Of course, the media that is used also makes a difference.
So does that mean that the sandblasting reveals true color of the metal? Does it change color pretty soon after with oxidation?
@ivanmit3366 oxidation varies upon the composition of the metal and the environment its in, but yes- that's why you see content creators applying oil to freshly blasted parts, to act as a moisture and oxygen barrier. The oil can easily be removed to apply the desired final finish.
I have additional question: with the holes in the knife, doesn’t mean the metal is compromised and could easily break?
@edwardsdarkmistress in a sense, yes; I'll admit I've not yet finished the video- because life happens- but unless he's hardened the metal or done something else to affect its structure, then it's obviously in a more brittle condition than when it was originally issued. That being said, it's very likely that this knife won't see anything remotely serious enough to stress the blade.
I also guess that all the microscopic crevices and pits left from the rusting helps scattering light in a way that makes it white (it's not uncommon for porous materials to look bright/white)
He's back, and I hope he's here to stay because this is a good channel
Tysy was like, "Time to give shape to the blade" and I'm like, "What shape? What blade??" And it still came out looking amazing
At first, I thought the whole thing would end up in your rust jar. A work of art, it turned out beautifully.
The combination of rust pits, gold, and carbon fiber on the handle creates a stunning decorative piece that would look great on any shelf.
The handle is the best thing about the knife.
Thank you for coming back you have been missed.
Everytime at the start of a restoration I think to myself. How do you even plan on fixing this? This is so beyond repair.
same😂

Didn't believe at the begining that you'll be able to restore it .... very well done!
Me neither 😂
Wow 🤩 you just gave me an idea how to make one of my next project 😍 very nice finish Tysy ❤️❤️❤️
I feel like all the Euro-restorers should get together and do a MEGA collab and restore something insane hahahaha.
the 2 best restorations chanells!
At least you finally learned how to differentiate between a knife and a bayonet in the end tysy 😂
I would imagine he's quite educated judging by his work.
@@A.R.C.77it's a blade you attach to the barrel of a gun
@ThatAwkwardGuy9999 it's from an older video he restored a bayonet but thought it was a knife. I've been a subscriber when he wasnt as big as now :)

YOU'RE BACK!!!! Sir, you were missed, seriously
Also, as soon as I saw how crunchy that bayonet was with rust, I started clapping and screaming DUST RUST FOR THE KNIFE YESSSS
I said to myself, "self, why would he restore that piece of crap"? Less than 17 minutes later, "because he can"! What a beautiful piece!
Same I thought that to

the video is only 15 minutes long 😭😭😭
bro had nothing left to restore and still restored it. respect
the slice test at the end was way better than expected!
The bayonet now has +10 damage against goblins.
Excellent video.
HUH?!?!?!?!?
Besides the obvious expert craftsmanship, I am always stunned by the creativity of these works of art… how people get a picture in their mind of what COULD be versus what is.
This video was well worthy the 4 month wait. One of my favourite restoration channel is back with new gadgets. First time I am seeing a magnetic stirrer. Much love from Rwanda 🇷🇼
Dude the fact that you turned something so beyond repair into something that is not only beautiful but incredibly functional???? That's beyond incredible 👏🏻🔥🖤 love your work so much
Do you really believe that piece of rust could cut through one marrow with it's skin on? Let alone the number he cut?
Amazing work of art, and more effective as a cutting tool than I expected!
Glad you like it!
That looks absolutely beautiful! I knew you'd be able to make that old blade shine again. Very well done.
He’s back my favorite restoring change is finely back I missed it so much
It’s been so long since I’ve watched this channel but I finally found my favorite restoration RUclipsr again after 3 years

this chanel is a life saver no questions asked
Love this channel!!
Recently I was talking to a friend of mine about most satisfying RUclips channels and yours came to mind. Turns out my mate is also subscribed to your channel! Shout out to Fré for having good taste too!
Btw, thanks for being back, missed your craftsmanship! Keep up the good work!
That's awesome!
What a beautiful result! I love how you incorporated the damage into the final design instead of trying to make it appear like brand-new. Absolutely lovely - and such a blast to see your video back on my feed!
The end result is amazing!! I watch your videos because they are relaxing, but can't fall asleep to them - I'd miss the end result!!!
Yes, your videos both help me sleep and entertain me
Glad to hear that!
I love the pattern and texture you put on the handle of the bayonet
Edit: how'd you gold plate it, i know but, HOW
Edit 2: that sharpness test in the end was absolutely awesome and cool
Did you even watch the video as he clearly shows how he gold plated it.
@@nemesis2264 i did watch the video, but i just find the process of how he does it really interesting, so no need to be rude, im just complimenting the process
Outstanding and creative approach by incorporating the deep pitying as a feature. And I've never seen the gold effect like that before. Beautiful!
I'm glad you said transformation and not restoration. I was really impressed with the videography rather than the project itself.
congratulations! you have desecrated an historical artifact to a point nobody knew was possible
This should get a million views easily. Absolute masterpiece. Congratulations, my friend.
0:32 the way the knife brooke tho my favorite part 😂
Idk why but restoration of metal items are like the most satisfying thing I ever saw

this is well tuned. Insane result. I like when people turn rust into gold. That's part of my job also in restoring laptops and give them second hand life.
Happy to see the channel back with a new video
Outstanding work, wasn't sure you'd be able to turn that rusty hunk of metal into anything at all - very impressive!
A new life of old things is wonderful! Great job and great video! Thanks!
From unrestorable rusted junk to work of art. Amazing!
That wasn't a restoration. That was a resurrection! A thing of beauty and a miracle
Not going to lie, I actually thought this was going to be the knife made from rust!!! But the jar is half full!!!
