Scotty is a fantastic announcer. He really needs a permanent position. Love you Scotty!!! Absolute legend.
The old commentary before Scotty was trash! with peace and love of course but I totally agree keep him hired he's so knowledgeable and happy to be there.
I watched some of the skateboard park and those announcers are so much worse than Scotty. He’s so detailed and informative, I love it.

Sounds like someone commentating a fight game tournament.
Scotty Cranmer is super knowledgeable (even knowing and noticing which barspins and tail whips are switch for whom), has experience, and has excitement and enthusiasm about all this. He improves the experience a ton. (Plus he is inspirational and a good human).
That quarter is probably about the same height as Corey Berglar

Reynolds is the street GOAT but I feel Felix got Gold this year. I hope at least for the video submission he did! Scotty always fire on the mic!
I get tired of Garrett winning but the man just pulls out these GOAT runs every year and you can't deny him the Gold.

Man I know he didn't place well, but anyone else appreciate Kevin Peraza's riding? I got into BMX from watching Scotty's channel. But I went to xgames 2017 in person and KP's riding just hits different. Even in street. Always fast, high, and smooth. Good mix of technical tricks. Always smiling as well haha.
He’s unreal the tricks he was putting out in street was insane carrying over from the park and dirt by far one of the best riders
absolutely and if he comes back to street next year he’ll land the big tricks as well as rail tricks it will be awesome to watch
Riding was next level this year, Every bmx event was hype with huge tricks. We seriously need more BMX comp's because the riding has just become futuristic and the scene is more inspiring than ever, I'm 32 and I'm building a brand new bike to get out there and start riding again.

There's a gold in Matt Ray's future for sure as he does more competitions. He's such a great rider, he needs to build up his confidence and experience so he can throw his bangers in competitions

I rewatched 2016 xgames and before Scotty was commentating, the commentary was trash.. they werent up to date with new bmx, the old xgames commentators that is.
Scottty and his knowledge is perfect for xgames, i hope he is a permanent hire!!!
honestly i prefer felix style now but garrett's trick were more tech with oppo whip double bar etc in contest. Felix show us a different style of riding that i prefer and when you see his real bmx part it's mindblowing. The new gen of street riders.

Matt Ray is one of the nicest kids and pro bmxer's I've ever met and had the chance to ride with several times many years ago now here in Massachusetts. He wasn't pro yet back then but anyone he rode with knew for sure he was good enough and would be..Super humble and doesn't pick on people because they aren't as good as himself on a bike like so many others do.
Scotty is what makes this so awesome, He is my hero, I enjoyed it so much more with Scotty Cranmer calling the show💯🔥
Scott should have a full time position at espn the guy was mint to be on a bike but he is staring behind the Mic Scotty you are awesome

I don't know what's been more interesting, how the BMX competitors have been ON FIRE from day 1, or how the rest of the competitors have struggled so much! The pandemic really made an impact this XG.

I knew Scotty would be blown away by Alex's riding. He is gonna be more unreal than he already is, with time.
Am I the only one who feels like Matt Ray got robbed? Three clean runs with awesome tricks but seemed really underscored.

I agreeMatty recently unlocked the double backflip!! if he could unlock a few more bangers he could take a bronze home if he works for it
Also you should go back on Scotty's channel when Matty rode for the Vans pro cup, I believe Scotty was commentating for that as well!!

Won’t say it’s impossible but Scott was better than Matty today before he was even 20, Matty had been working on an edit for a little while though and I definitely can’t wait to see what’s stored in that.

Switch footed and opposite tricks are two different things Scotty
If I were in charge of this event I’d be more lenient with the runs. Like when Matt ray messed up at the start I’d be like hey bro have another go. I’d let every rider complete their run as best they can just for the audience and for the riders closers sake. Of course within reason, like not give them 100 goes because we would be here forever. That’s what would make it the best sport to watch for the spectators.

Is it just me or are these the saddest x games ever? All the courses suck, the best are resting for Olympics and zero crowds to push the athletes…
45 second runs are stupid too, seems like all th courses lost their beefiness after mid-school died, th y haven't felt like the xgames since then. Most of these courses don't anymore.
I weigh 193 and just learned how to jump on my bmx pedals in order to make them lock me in place after riding park for years. Then the next week after I learned how to jump on the bike and make the pedals lock my chain slips riding on a jogging gravel trail and I fly over the handle bars. Makes no sense how these riders do this and how impossible winning a competition is for self sponsored amateurs.

As always Scotty kills it on the commentary and you literally knows the name of every trick but what's annoying me is that the trick lists have become only six or eight different tricks..... Barspin, crooked grind, ice grind, tailwhip, manual and spins. What happened to tricks like one hand one footer nac w/ an x-down seat grab¿? When did bmx start focusing on only a few different skills instead of having every skill¿?

Why would you even pull a one hand one footer on a street competition, thats a very easy trick just like every other one you mentioned, combo's and technical riding is what makes street special, why would you drop down a stairs pulling a x down seat grab when you can do. 180 crooked to halfcab tailwhip into manual or something like that.

I feel like BMX has completely forgotten its core elements and it went from being able to do a lot of different tricks consistently to only being able to do a specific group of tricks very well... I know that progression is made by the mainstream riders but I like the more tech style of riding and I'd like to see more riders like Spencer Foresman in a comp like this. 😁
