    Dang man memories. I remember watching this game with my dad, I was 7 years old. Then I remember watching them lose to the patriots in the super bowl. Fast forward 13 years and they beat the patriots in the super bowl and once again I was watching it with my dad. And in about an hour we’re gonna watching them raise their first Super Bowl banner. Just crazy stuff. thanks for the upload

    • @NYG5
      @NYG5 4 года назад +25

      He was pretty good, much better than Vick IMO because McNabb was an actual passer. What hurt McNabb is consistency, especially early in his career. If he had the brain that he had in 2006-2008 with the teams he had from 2000-2004, he probably would have won a SB. His problem is while he had one of the best arms in the league and a great deep ball, and he was usually good with turnovers, but he would get into stretches where his accuracy would be off.

    • @homunculusSZN

      @@NYG5 I agree because I think the other knock to his HOF credentials is being under 60% completion for his career (although no one cares about that with Marino.)
      It's funny because you can see shades of the modern day Chiefs offense in some of these Eagles teams. People don't like to talk about it, but McNabb was doing a bunch of the stuff Mahomes is doing today (roll out shovel passes into the LOS, extending plays, throwing without planting his feet, etc.)
      I'm not an Eagles fan but I do think he deserves more respect in the HOF conversations.

    The MVP of this game was Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson. The Falcons had the league's #1 rushing offense that season thanks to Vick, and Johnson bottled them up with a simple strategy: he flip-flopped his defensive ends (putting the more athletic Jevon Kearse on Vick's stronger left side) and asked them to focus on containment instead of outright pressure. As a result, we saw Vick escape into the open field only once the entire game. It was a brilliant job of knowing his personnel and game planning accordingly.

    2004 eagles had one of the easiest paths to the Super Bowl. No shade to the other bonafide teams in the NFC that year (including these falcons), but the eagles were just so good that year. NFC was very watered down in 2004.
      Both teams here got the luxury of playing an 8-8 team in the divisional round.
      Ultimately the NFC in 2004 had only five teams with a positive point differential, nine teams with a 7-9 record or worse, and a 20-44 record vs the AFC; one of the worst win percentages ever for one conference vs the other.

    No HD? You guys have this and SBs 38 and 39 in HD yet you posted in SD. Smh they are in HD on RUclips from your own NFL Network, yet NFL Vault can only get the SD version?

    Dunn was explosive. A 98 spd in madden that year. Use to set him up as slot receiver straight route and would burn the opp linebacker all the tine 💯

    I cried this game. As a philly faithful, I have been a life long Vikings fan. I bet my uncle and everyone in his barbershop that the eagles would not make it to the Super Bowl and if they did I would shine shoes in the shop. I needed Vick to win so i wouldn’t lose the bet but he let me down lol

    2nd greatest team to not win the Superbowl. If t.o was healthy they beat the Patriots. Sad McNabb is not in the hot 1 man offense litterally had bums for wr his whole career except for the short time he had t.o

    This game was a perfect example of what I have always said about Vick. Take away his ability to run and he was next to useless. Couldn’t read a defense.

    Wow..watched this in my college dorm...This defense was so ferocious. Dawkins was an absolute monster in this game. They showed the Crumpler hit but they didn’t show him destroying Vick on the long run that ended up holding call anyway. Broke his leg if I’m not mistaken?
