- Game 1 of the NBA Finals proved to be an explosive one, with Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors establishing an early lead in the first half, only for the Boston Celtics to fight their way back to a dominant win by the end of the 4th quarter. 1-8 is surprising but true. Warriors' excuse in 2019 Finals was Durant was injured. But in games with Curry, Klay, and Draymond, (i.e. their original/present core) they got thoroughly outplayed by an elite defensive Raptors team.

Celtics won the finals once they beat the bucks. For me that was the finals, best team vs best player. Warriors are a good team but not even close to the best defense I have seen in the last 10 years.

Warriors basically played cupcake teams (because of injuries) the first two rounds and all they had to do was stop Doncic round 3, Celtics can win in multiple ways when they're not being railroaded by the refs.
Everyone wanted to discount who celtics played as well as point out the fact that “it took” 7 games to win both series against Bucks and Heat. What it means is, they can figure out how to win against teams who give them trouble
you could say the same about the celtics. Even more so when you consider how injured miami was, and they still took the celtics seven games. Im rooting for the Celtics and GSW collapsed big time but the reason is not that they faced weak teams so far

They gave away at least 2 games to the bucks and they did the same with the Heat. They still won two game 7s, Celtics are battle tested and the warriors coasted to the finals playing injured teams and getting Dallas with luka instead of the suns. It’s over.

I believe Kerr taking Looney out hurt them on the boards offensively. The small line up for Kerr got him beat. Many of those missed 3's in the 4th quarter would have caused many second chance opportunities that we've seen so often from the Warriors.

I really can't believe ESPN analytics engine has been consistent in it's Celtics championship pick all playoffs long. ESPN has always had a personal vendetta against all New England teams. You won Game 1 ON THE ROAD against a team that hadn't lost a playoff game at home. Period. This isn't a "it's just Game 1" take; the Celtics CAN win this title because they have the horses to physically and psychologically beat GS.
What I loved most about this win for the Celtics (who I am pushing for), not once did they look shook; meanwhile when the Celtics picked up and started playing their game GSW looked like the "Cat Next-door". Go Celtics! One down with three more to go.

Jaylen Brown is a star and would definitely be a superstar if he cut down the turnovers and became a better 3 point shooter and decision maker. He has that Russell Westbrook internal clock in his head. The talent is there he gotta slow it down. Tatum had a bad game and they still won. 🤣

Wildes is talk wild out of his mind. Draymond talks more games than he plays. The Warriors were arrogants and devoted to much time to profiling and interviews than practicing and researching to find their opponents weaknesses. After the 3rd quarter, GSW went to sleep and the Jolly Green Giants woke up. It was Kerr responsibility to adjust the plays and players in the 4th quarters and put them back to sleep. KD said that they needed him more than he needed them to win a championship. Could that be true?

I'm 10 toes down like Chris picking the Warriors to win this series. But that game said a lot, it really did. The Celtics won w/ Jayson Tatum contributing 12 points. Steph got hot early and scored like 22 in the first quarter! And the Celtics still found a way to win. I will say this, Golden St. must win game 2. And I think they will.

Warriors to me they looked tired. Im looking forward to the rookies getting back in rotation and Payton getting Poole minutes as he got in the Memphis series. The lack of physical play in the Dallas series showed up Thursday. Thursday game 1 lost points directly on Steve Kerr. His IG as a player experiment back fired. Put Moody or Kuminga in as he have all playoffs and watch the flow of the offense return and the passing lane defense return. Try both Rookies on the floor at the same time. Moody sub Poole and Kuminga sub for Klay. Have Moody, Kuminga, Porter, Wiggins and Steph be on the floor. I'm not saying this line up plays long minutes. I'm saying periods of the 2nd and 3rd quarter lineup. Warriors win if Payton plays because he keeps defenders in front of him. Lastly the Refs have to send the Warriors to the line if their going to make the series swing back in the Warriors favor.
This show is starting to grow on me, huge fan of Chris B for the longest though so that may be it.
I knew the Celtics had a shot when Curry was shooting lights out in the first quarter but the Celtics were only down by 4, they let him go off taking his teammates out of sync so when he tried to get them involved, he in turn was out of rhythm. The key to the Celtics getting 3 more wins is taking Poole out of the game.

Nobody ever predicted that out of the blue the Celtics will go 8 out of 8 and eventually 9 of 12 in 3's in the 4th and eventually shoot for 51%. On a side note, Celtics didn't hit their first seven 3's in the 4th period cuz Tatum missed one very early in the 4th (unless his foot was on the line). Just pointing out a discrepancy.

Terrible by warriors. Shame they didn’t play that bad vs the mavs. Mavs vs Celtics were good games this year, especially in March when mavs won by 3. So it would have been a great series.
