Setting up my new betta fish tank

- 1) Heater (Optional)
Is not necessary if you live in a tropical countries.
(I am living in Malaysia and the water temperature is around 25°-28°). If you live in a countries with four seasons, you will be needed a heater.
2) Air pump (Optional)
Is not necessary to have an air pump. Betta fish can survive without an air pump because they have a special respiratory organ called a labyrinth. Therefore, they just need very small amounts of oyxgen. If you are keeping betta fish with other types of fish, then you will be needed an air pump.
3) Aquarium filter (Optional)
I don't install a filter because I do changes the water regularly. (Twice a week, 50% of the water every time). If you install a filter, please make sure the water flow is not too strong because they like calmer waters.
NOTE:
Acclimate your fish before placing it into the tank.
Bad water condition, stress or hungry will lead to Betta fish jump out from the tank.
Healthy Fish: Swimming around.
Unhealthy Fish: Sinking at the bottom or hiding always. - Животные
Please read description for more information. Thanks.
Can I known big stone name and what type of soil i wank to make it for my room
Ok
You should do an update of your betta.
@@waiyanvlog987 just pls get a tank 5 times that size .That is minimum for a betta fish
ThinFrog ur tank is 5 times smaller than the minimum tank size for a betta . Not to mention u dont have a filter, enough plants and hides . Hv u thought abt where its gonna sleep, where it will hide if it gets spooked or will it jump ?
I advise people watching this and the person that made this to add a filtration system with that small of a tank with hardly any plants.
appreciate that this man is putting a nice decently environment for it and is atleast trying and not just having him in a jar
I personally try to offer my fish a good life. This means, specially with bettas, lots of real plants and some companions they don’t attack (Nerite, shrimps). They get bored easily. I would not want to spend my life in an empty prison where I would have no privacy, nor would I wish this life for someone else. Fish do have emotions, they are just more instinct-driven and their feelings are not as complex as human feelings.
You sound like a good fish keeper who won't put his fish in a bowl
Brilliant comment. It’s so refreshing to see someone who genuinely cares about the welfare of their fish!
Thank you oh my god. I swear you’re the only sensible one here.
Great to see your comment, i also felt the same way whenever i see bettas kept in those small cups at the stores
blah blah and blah you sound like people who buy an apartement for your betta fish, i'm kidding, i agree with you too anyway
Although the tank is a little small, the tank overall is beautiful and has the supplies for the fish to live a thriving life! That’s a really gorgeous Plakat btw. I’ve never seen so many colors on one before!
gorgeous Betta..and nice little setup👍
Your betta is stunning !
To bad it can’t be put in the right environment.
What a lovely betta:)
your bettas are absolutely amazing, came here from video 2 betta jumping🙂
That betta is beautiful.
It's beautiful but lacks of plants, especially surface plants, bettas don't love intense light :^)

Not good, dont love it. They need way more plants and hides to thrive. Not to mention, this is too small!

It might be a bit smaller for such a beautiful koi betta, the guy could be happier on 5 gallon size tank, it certainly will give the guy a better movements and more longer lifespan, just a friendly reminder
Not neccessary to have 5 gallons please.
@@bensontan7409 really
@@bensontan7409 5 gallons is a must...people say 2.5 is enough but 5 gallon is better and a must for betta
@@bensontan7409 Yes it is, a beta can survive in a 2.5 gallon, but keyword is SURVIVE. If you want a happy, healthy, THRIVING fish, you'll need at least a 5-6 gallon tank
@@JoyDJoyDjoy Nah. Is not a must to have 5 gallons. We in southeast asia kept them in 1 or 2 gallons tank and it striving. I kept them nearly 3 years already. Please watch the betta competition that are held in thailand, malaysia or singapore to have a bettter understanding of it. Thank you.
Thats a nice simple idea thx for the advice
Nice decorations and healthy Betta fish I like both....
Hii Malaysian here. It's glad to see people not keeping bettas in cups since they are just sold in them in pasar malam and all sorts of places. I don't have a heater and filter too.
Because my betta is a gift (ridiculous) I didn't have big budgets so I just got a food storage container that was about 2 gallons. Not vry nice but big enough for the betta.
Malaysian here too, woot!
This actually frustrates me! Don't copy this person.
1. A betta fish needs MORE than a 5.5L tank.
2. It needs a lid because it can, and will, jump out. - once he does that when you're not home or asleep; dead.
3. Use a filter. Even if you clean regularly; you don't just want the fish to survive, you want the fish to enjoy his home.
4. More plants. People talk about betta fish being able to breath air from the surface, but that should be an emergency measure when there's a lack or oxygen.
Remember, these fish didn't choose to be your pet. You took it home. So you better make damn sure they have a paradise to live in or you shouldn't keep them.
My tank have no filter but I have a lot of plants inside it and I added co2 everyday plus I have Bamboo shrimp to filter feed the algae and the left over food.
My bettas never jumped. They jump because of poor water condition, if the water is clean they won’t jump
It will only jump out if it's too stressed in the environment it's in. If yours tried to, you did something very wrong.
Betta fish are naturally very playful fish, people here saying there fish have never jumped, sorry, but your fish could be depressed or bored. Try putting a small mirror in, only for ten minutes because too long and it can stress your betta, but this will encourage him to flare and provide him with something other than swimming in circles.
Finally someone knows what they do
Very cool I like your vids I’m going to try some of your decorations
what decorations - there's only an 'orrible great big (as the betta sees it) rock stuck in the middle
How Pretty!💚
Just because you like simple decorations doesn't mean your poor betta does. Need to get more plants in there, and some kind of shelter for him to hide out and chill.
Plus the tank is not even 5 gallons or more
@@Winnin737 yeah it’s literally 1.5

Thank god i saw this betta video i was sick for 2 days straight and my brain was not working right thanks to this video i remembered to feed my betta
BS
This kind of tank would be a much better set up for bettas in stores compared to the little cups they're kept in but as permanent housing I'd go with smth larger, especially something longer for more horizontal swimming space and more decor/plants and places to hide or explore
Too much space needed for so many bettas. The reason why you buy your betta is to make them healthier and better. The cups are used to sell them in a massive scale, if you use this much space foe each betta, you're actually wasting plenty of opportunitiest to sell other fishes
@@SorianoK16 what about the walls filled with tanks and fish already in pet stores?? They already clearly have enough space, plus females can be kept in sororities which will save space given they can be kept multiple to a tank
@@kirbykinnie3691 They can't be kept together in a tank. The stores would have to keep 1 single betta in each tank, so it'd take up the space for other species. (The 1 tank they'd use for 1 betta could've housed 6 tetras or 8 guppies).
@@izzywasabi I have a female bettas sorority in my own house and I've done a lot of research on them. Most females can be kept together in large groups but males and females and more than one male together won't work and I'm aware of that.
Yup and usually stores sell more males than females because people prefer pretty fins and tails
Betta looking great
Your betta koi is stunning
Just a tip: more plants will make it more beautiful, especially when Betta's don't love direct light :) (beautiful Betta by the way)
Your betta its beautiful
Wonderfull betta!!!
That’s a beautiful batta oml
Also you might like simple decoration but bettas don't. Bettas love to have a lot of *live* plants to hide in. Plastic plants can cut their fins if you do use fake plants get silk plants
Thank you. Finally someone who KNOWS about betta and is not only about " oh ot looks so beautiful "
It's the bettas home for a lifetime so it HAS to fit their conditions. We are responsible for giving our fish a suitable happy and healthy home

Galaxy Koi Betta??
I had a metallic white one with metallic blue fins. He also had a saphire coloured coating on his eyes.
heyy your tank is great! but a betta needs more hiding places :)
Wow this is amazing😃
Beautiful Betta 😍😍😍
He needs to add filter/heater and also he didn’t let the betta acclimatise to the water
Maybe no heater since it's an aquarium in a hot country, but WTF he just dumped him in there like a sardine?! Could they not lower the glass into the water so he might swim out? Also, whats up with not cycling the tank? (ESPECIALLY since there is no filter) Looks a lot like style took priorty over the bettas needs here...
Ik, there are to many things wrong with this
What is the filter name plzz
yes in malysia you dont need heater but i would add a filter and more plants
Beautiful Betta fish there. I got one the other day. They are some of the most easy fish to maintain.
I’m boutta get one tomorrow!
@Victory Tom silk plants? Betta leaf? You can give them some anubias or amazon swords, the betta leaf can kill him if it’s to sharp or it can put a lot of toxic paint in the water. Much more? They are the easiest fish to take care of. They at least need 2.5 gallon, you give them some wood and they could use it as a place to hide. Also is better to give them real plants like the anubia in the vid or the amazon swords it also works as a bed for them. You miss a lot of things, like the water cycle, the anti chlorine.
Btw if u put real plants make sure to give them a rich substrate with vitamins and if u could give them a fertilizer
it is s really cool Betta
This looks very nice however you should get a heater and filter for this tank. Also, the minimum recommended tank size for any betta is 5 gallons. So I highly recommend upgrading to a larger size especially since you have a king betta!!!
Did you not read the description😩

You should get a filter or a heater for your tank. You can find cheap filters at petsmart, but the heaters can be pricy. It’s worth it tho. Bettas need a filter and a heater to be happy, and to keep them healthy
Not true read the description
Douglas Bray betta fish need heaters
Bella Fowers well it depends on which country you live in.
I live in a VERY hot country, and a heater would probably roast my betta

@@ainumairah5410 plants are hella expensive tho so you'd probably be better off just buying a filter

If you are not adding filter so add plants but it must cover 40% of the aquarium

Very nice koi Bettafish
You should still get a heater the water will be a lot colder than what the temp is outside. I live in an area where it gets to be 37° celsius and the water still a bit too cold. It's fine if you don't have a filter but you're just creating more work for yourself 🤷🏼♀️I really hope you did the nitrogen cycle before adding the fish.
in south east asia we don't use heater and we are living in tropical country is hot most of the day. My friend put heater that killed his betta fish that got cooked. Temp maintain 25.5° and 26.5 C also use 2 in 1 room and water thermometer. Most of us don't put filter but will do water change 2 time per week. CT and HM betta every 3 days. We prepare aged water with Ketapang aka Indian almond leaves, water conditioner and aquarium salt, Stir well apply water pump to flow the aged water to break down all the tap water chemical.
Well I did buy a heater for my Betta, I live in Malaysia, same as the channel owner, and I can tell you, my heater never turn on because the water temperature already at 29c, you can use the heater if you put your Betta in an air conditioned room.
@@nakazatotakeshi4286 for real, sometimes even WITHOUT a heater, my betta tank reach 31℃. I was like what the heck? Malaysia is really hot, especially in the summer. I always worried about the warm weather here will cook my betta alive lol

get rid of Mount Everest and put some plants in. You've got a beautiful fish - give it something interesting to do all day, every day for the rest of it's life. You can get some quality plastic plants and your betta will be so much happier. A couple of plant pots with the bottom knocked out and you'll see how curious and smart (for a fish) they are. And without the rock your tank could be just big enough. See comments from Analogue below
Couldnt agree more
fish in general are actually pretty smart. last year in japan a small fish passed the mirror test, wich many scientists judge to be the "gold standard"for testing animal self awarness. before he passed it only large primates, dolphins, elephants, and magpies had passed the test
Mount Everest...savage😂😂
