you gonna laugh, but that's kinda 4chan at times It is just very pleasant to see someone doing displays of honesty. If it is with an emotional, but personal response then you are sure that it is genuine and the person is speaking their mind Humans are just coded to trust honest people. Sounds like the most obvious thing, but this is true to the point that people will appreciate a honest person even if they were evil in some manner. The modern internet in general, which reddit perfectly encapsulates, has been censored and everyone is prohibited from being emotional and angry about something "because its insensitive and hurts feelings", so when you find anyone breaking that mold, speaking whats in their heart without mincing words and swearing like a sailor, it is a human response to say "hey, this honesty is quite pleasant"
She's... one of the biggest Holosimps out there... even if these people wanna make up some kind of bullshit about Pippa to start drama, why does it have to be something so obviously, verifiably wrong and stupid?
Because odds are they only know her as “the 4chan rabbit vtuber” and just fired bad takes into the void to see what stuck. Seems to be their MO when attacking Vtubers they don’t like.
Because for them watching Pippa runs the risk of converting them into Capippatalists if there is a human soul left in their body to salvage instead of yet more Borg Wiring. So they have to avoid that at all costs and find rage clippers to get their opinions from instead.

09:00 I hope Pippa realizes she has created a fiercely loyal fan base with her honesty and how genuine she is. I genuinely see her as a bro - one of the guys, and the fact she's a Vtuber that has to deal with all the stuff that comes with it is amazing. She carved out a niche BY HERSELF in a market that quickly became oversaturated with copycats and Western social justice warrior Tumblrinas. She probably single handedly changed the culture of Phase Connect from the inside. We joke about PC hiring menhera girls and while there is a small nugget of truth to it, I personally think her presence has had a knock on effect with the rest of the agency. I'm sure Fishman did NOT expect it to go this way. And you know he may be sighing because of another yab Pippa did, but then he wipes his tears with the money Pippa makes for the company. Pippa is now dealing with the growing pains of haters who are jealous of her success. And as she grows bigger that target on her back will grow. I know we all joke about simping and sht, but I think the money we toss her has less to do with MUH VALIDATION and more to do like a bro telling another bro good job and to keep it up. Her growth isn't a gentle curve now... it's gaining traction. I just hope the new audience she attracts understands her humor. I've been running into more and more smooth brain redditor types and I look forward to Pippa continuing to filter out the weak.
The thing about fishman wiping his tears with pippa's cash made me realize a thing that if pippa heard would make her outwardly shout in rage at how ludicrous this comparison is while inwardly she'd be squealing in joy and pride. Pippa is the Coco of Phase.
if the fish ever cuts pippa what would pc have left? tenma, maybe lumi, uruka has a great voice but not too distinguishable outside that. everyone else is non-offensive or spouts anti-fun copypaste opinions like rie. in terms of english companies pc would def not be able to outshine holoen, outcoomer vshojo or outnumber nijien.
@@itsnickelohel honestly forgot about second-string lumi. i'll concede her chris-chan stream was good but being m isn't exactly a unique trait anymore. yuri has a decent model, would still file under non-offensive.
@@bewaryofbug What makes it work is that Pippa sets the standard as what is "yab". The lower the bar Pippa the pushes, the more yab everyone else gets. Lumi wouldn't be making half the edgy funny jokes she makes without Pippa essentially giving her the greenlight. Sometimes even girls like Shiina and Airi go down that route. I know they try to avoid it but Pippa leaves the door open for them to do that, which means it's not as surprising to us when they let that dark humor part of themselves slip. You KNOW Pippa has staying power over PC when she can openly talk about how her first six months with PC sucked, or sht on merchandise that tastes weird, etc. Those kinds of individuals with that kind of sway over a company have the potential to do good or bad. Lucky for us, her upbringings have kept her humble and self aware. If it was any other Californian or New York leftist type right now she'd be ego tripping about how nobody can stop her, but Pippa knows where she planted her flag when it comes to her roots. I know Pippa doesn't want to directly insult her, but she's kind of the anti-Nyanners. Nyanners has pushed hard into the cute pink cat schtick to attract fans but Pippa still sticks to the "I'm a cute rabbit that has talks like an angry sailor" thing even a year after her rise. Remember ultra early Pippa? She was trying to "fit in" with them. I remember when she was quiet, reserved, and tried really hard to follow the typical Vtuber formula. I think she got sick of it at some point and just said F this sht and I guess it was partially due to us degenerates in chat talking giving her the opportunity to drop the cute schtick and just be herself. And yeah, she's kinda like PCs Coco. Tenma also is an amazing find as well. She's just as unhinged as Pippa and her being completely fluent in Japanese and more than fluent in English and familiar with Western culture makes her like the perfect representative for us weeaboos that try to pretend we know Japan. I do like the fact Fishman isn't trying to make PC too big. I think PC being like a second string niche Vtuber agency is right where we want it.
I fucking love Pippa’s rants. Like as someone who has grown up seeing dudes like Asmongold rant and mald, seeing someone from the opposite sex do it (in the same manner at least) is refreshing.

The difference between us and them is that, if someone we watch has a different opinion on something we don't like we shrug and keep watching since we're used to it. If they watch someone who has a different opinion on something they dont like, they bitch and scream and hollar and wail to the ends of time.
Personally if someone I watch has a ton of bad opinions I take it as a sign to leave. The person I'm watching isn't supportive of what I believe in and my continued patronage would be the one grain of sand of many that would contribute to it. What makes Pippa fun is we get into exchanges with her and it's a funny and playful back forth. There's a mutual understanding that sometimes we will agree and sometimes we won't. Pippa is simply incompatible with 2023 reddits cultfure. If it was 2008 reddit she'd fit in but those people are gone and Aaron Schwartz is dead. Modern reddit reminds me of someone like h3h3. If the podcast were released right now instead of back then, then at the very least we'd have a lot of people on our hands confidently claiming that "they were talking/laughing about , therefore they endorse ", the same people Pippa has to deal with right now. Given the topics that came up in SleepyCast there probably would have been cancellation attempts for every single episode, honestly. I really hope this puritan mindset that infects a large amount of people right now vanishes soon, it gets really tiring to explain that just because you were laughing about a cancer joke doesn't mean that you're a huge fan of people getting cancer. Reddit was always a flawed concept, because it punishes people for having strong opinions through the "upvotes - downvotes = visibility"-formula. The most successful accounts are those that have the most agreeable, uncontroversial and boring takes on any issues. People with creative, unconventional takes on issues fade into obscurity. It also breeds uniformity of opinions. Those who comply with the "general consensus" on an issue are rewarded, those that don't are banned or ignored. As such, the platform explicitly rewards people with weak characters. As the German conservative politician Franz Josef Strauß once put it: "Everybody's darling is everybody's fool!" This sentence perfectly describes Reddit as a platform. And this is why 4chan is so much better. It works by the "any news is good news"-principle. Any interaction means more visibility, so the most successful threads are those that are both liked by many people AND hated by many people. Combine that with complete anonymity (no persistent pseudonyms that are tied to you) and very lax rules (you are usually only banned if you post intentionally off-topic or outright illegal stuff) and you get a healthy mixture of completely retarded and extremely brilliant posts instead of a flood of echo-chamber circle jerking.

Out of curiosity, I searched pippas name on reddit and she indeed does have some low iq person trying to cancel her 100 days ago. Must be seething at her 100k and rising.
I don't think anyone should take Reddit as a reference point for anything. It doesn't excel in anything, it is mostly useless noise. If anything, its only strong point is its ability to dive further into mediocrity, when we thought it had reached rock bottom. It failed at building communities, it failed at gathering valuable information, it failed at permitting discourse between different opinions, it failed at preventing the concentration of information power in the hands of a few people, and it failed at being morally balanced. It failed on everything it attempted to do. So there's no point in looking at their take on any subject, and comparing your own favorite platform with it. If we're being serious for a minute, not being a systemic failure like Reddit isn't saying much. Instead, it would be more interesting to wonder if one's own favorite platform isn't flawed in itself, if it hasn't some shortcomings, and if these issues could be addressed without endangering the very nature of the platform or not. Such reflection could be based on one's own moral and ideological values. As much as it is annoying to explain the situation to all the idiots and normies, only saying it's about having a sense of humor is disingenuous: it is clearly about freedom vs liberty, individual vs collective rights, which are highly political concepts. Even if you only wanted to joke about anything freely, it is inherently political: laughing at something deconstructs its importance - that's why it frightens authoritarian regimes, but also why it is detrimental to all forms of moral values. Make enough jokes at a dictator and the population is less scared about his power. Make enough jokes about decapitating puppies and the population is less inclined to condemn it as morally bad. Humor is a major vector of cultural freedom, but it's about being free from _all_ restrictions - including fundamental moral values. Still wanting a world without any restrictions is a possible choice, but it's far from a neutral one, it allows _everything_ to flourish.
Reddit has so much potential, i really like the format and miss forums But the admins and mods have made it such an awful place I'm pretty sure 9gag is better than reddit nowadays
I was arguing with someone in that thread. & Some room temperature IQ person tried to argue that, because she referenced that old Jewish goyim meme, that she'd currently racist. A different person tried to argue that because she made that joke about Bettel on Twitter, she's endorsing self-unaliving. Like, do these people hear themselves?
There are a few Israelis that donate to Pippa and she thanks them for the shekels whenever they donate. When the Mexican Capipi donates she literally calls it "Mexicans". If these people are btching about her behavior, she doesn't want them, plain and simple.
Goyim meme? Hell, I remember Calli getting flack for saying Shekels. Redditors must just hate pink ladies. And no, they don’t hear themselves. That would require self awareness.
Reddit is such a crapshoot. On one hand, you can find funny, witty, and smart guys with questionable social skills talking about shit they're into and then you get Twitter 2 where everyone is trying to farm karma with virtue-signalling and dogpiling. It's such a mixed bag. EDIT: I had written this while watching the video. Glad Pippa agrees

I want that, but at the same time imagine how much crap would spill over the rest of the net without reddit to contain and distract all that soy and legit toxicity from posting elsewhere. And all those influencers, AI and psyops will be redirected as well. It'll make the tumblr exodus look tiny by comparison.
4chan toxicity and reddit toxicity are pretty different though. With 4chan it's usually not genuine they generally arent going to do anything beyond calling you slurs online unless you did something really fucked. Reddit on the other hand engages in doxxing harrassing and life ruination on a regular basis against innocent people
4chan is just the honest unfiltered old internet. It has way more upsides than downsides in my opinion. Or lurk and see silly shananigans. People are just put off because scawy words are said sometimes. Its edgy sometimes yes, and realllly edgy on certain places. However as a whole 4chan is not even close to as bad as people say it is.
I swear I remember months and months ago, Pippa was talking about how new Hololive talents always have tens of thousands of subs before they even debut, and went on to talk about what this would mean for the short-term success of a hypothetical talentless holo, versus a talentless indie vtuber with almost no pre-debut subs. So yeah, about what you were saying about terminally bad-faith takes?
Well, the amount of subs big corpo vtubers get before they do ANYTHING is honestly insane. Some indie vtubers spend years of their life working hard to achieve even a fraction of those subscriber numbers. And it's not like all the smaller indies are less talented, even just knowing about a few of the holos' past channels proves this wrong. After all, some of the EN holos had very small channels before they started in Hololive, sometimes surpassing their previous subscriber numbers way before their debut. So it's definitely not a matter of "maybe they were just bad", it's just a matter of "big corpo = big boost". Keeping such a huge audience engaged for years is a completely different topic of course, but the short-term boost is ridiculous, especially when measured by indie vtuber standards. I don't think any of that devalues the effort any of the holos have put into their career or dismisses any of their talent though. I'd call myself a Hololive fan, but I also watch a few NijiENs as well as a few indies that have like 30 viewers on a good day. And yes, I'm convinced that if any of those indies debuted in Hololive they'd get "carried" by the big corpo buff, this doesn't mean that I think any less of my favorite HoloENs though. If anyone takes offense to this then that's a skill issue.

Humans are just coded to trust honest people.
Aside from all the shitting on redditors, I wanna say that Pippa being so appreciative of her community is really sweet, and I agree with her. Great community here
Why do people always make things up to hate on someone they already dislike, never made sense to me
Don't know where I've REDDIT but somebody once said "people don't actually want to be right, they just want to feel like they are right" so anything that can feel like it justifies their irrational behavior is good in their eyes and that's how lunatic extremists are made

"Nah, I don't care for people who _want me dead_ "
So then I backtracked to that person's YT profile, and sure enough, they have a total of two playlists:
