Agreed, it's just pointing out that the cartel thing can be seen as more weird than loli stuff. Especially when loli doesn't have real people being killed in it.
Yep. I think that someone who regularly watches cartel executions for fun is WAY weirder than someone who's into Loli shit. Despite not being into either, I can rather understand the appeal of cute childish girls than that of people being killed in the most brutal ways imaginable. The only reason why someone would watch cartel videos I can kinda get is as a kind of "challenge", where you try to watch completely repulsive shit while staying calm. But if you actually draw any kind of entertainment value out of it... damn, you have to be pretty fucked up for that.
"Cunny is not something inherently sexual." My guy, I promise you that it is. I'm basically ancient in my 30s, and long before it was a portmanteau of "cute" and "funny", it was crude slang for lady bits. I didn't even know about this modern take nerds decided it meant, but someone _absolutely_ chose cunny because they thought it was funny to make people say a naughty thing.

To clarify, Rev was not going after furries. He's been consistent on his take that furry stuff and loli stuff are not real so if you support one while saying the other is wrong is a bit hypocritical. I also hate it. It's like, okay, the US government already spies on me. But less people spying on me is better. And being spied by companies only is far better, because they can get fucked by the judicial system. There is also the fact that China is involved in organ harvesting and genocide, so I don't my data on their hands. And considering that for foreigners, the US's post 9/11 paranoid stance can get them into some trouble (Since they got into trouble for spying the Brazilian president, as it is a violation of national sovereignty), but China is IMMUNE to any inernational backlash or diplomacy, as they have the underdeveloped world and the anti-US bloc wrapped around their fingers. There is three ways of thought on surveillance/espionage/breach of privacy that pisses me off: "Just another one spying on you" (Young people); "Why are you mad at China for doing what the US does?" (CCP apologists); "If you don't have nothing to hide, why bother?" (Old people); If a government does not trust me, why would I trust or even support them? And if it is a company collecting data to sell to advertisers or governments, I want to see those organizatoins neutered and paying massive reparations.
I always just ask them if they wouldn't mind me watching them sleep at night. Since they don't mind it, shouldn't be bothersome right? 😊 Gotta say something disgusting to get across how important privacy is to some of these idiots.
I think a lot of it is just giving up. We don’t have a way to stop it without a ton of effort, it’s just not worth it. Since every company does it, it seems unlikely that companies targeted for their spying are actually being targeted for their spying. So punishing them for it is just a cover for punishing something else

To be incredibly charitable to Opera, it is in theory possible that they used the crying emoji for Rebecca's option on the Twitter poll as an actual unironic crying emoji, in reference to her run-in with Adam Smasher in the anime. When someone replied asking "Do they know?" it could be construed as "have they seen the anime and do they know what happens?" The fact that Opera responded with a sad cat image rather than anything cheeky supports the possibility that whoever was running the account may have misconstrued the reply in this way. Totally possible that it was all done knowingly, but _theoretically_ the smoking gun could simply be multiple consecutive unfortunate misunderstandings.

Context: Blue Archive is not a porn game at all, it's featuring much less lewd content than AL or Nikke. It's the fanarts, like with every single media franchises that have existed since the dawn of time, that are creating both wholesome content, and sexualized content. Like Sonic the Hedgehog is a not a sexual franchise, but the fanarts can feature gut-wrenching (literally) fetishes. Same with Touhou and the millions of Touhou fanarts, most of it is safe for work, and inevitably some of it is suggestive. Or how the song "Camel by Camel" didn't turn the Animal Crossing franchise into an adult-only material. Decades ago, long before the Internet existed, Flintstones fanart porn was being drawn and sold under the mantle, and yet millions of people safely watched the Flintstones on TV. As for the canon ages in the game, they are made up to fit the lore, which is "they are students and you are an administrator solving improbable problems and crazy shenanigans". Many of them are obviously in their 20s, but they're "17" so that they're still students, just like Marine is 17 season 4. Out of around ~130 "students", the main character is being jokingly flirty with 10 of them max, and is close enough to like 3. It's practically always comedic degenerancy: sniffing their sweat or declaring their foot fetish to embarrass the other person. The main schtick of the game is the MC being a responsible mentor listening to the students and helping them fix their problems to grow into capable people - with a doomsday prophecy involving secret AIs and ancient robots as the background connecting everything together. The "mascot" as Kirsche said is the assistant AI in the game, like Cortana or Alexa. It exists in the ingame tablet, and is basically the MS Office Clippy: informative, cheerful, but can be annoying sometime (especially when starting, you're bombarded with tons of tutorial slides explaining the game mechanics). It's never used in an erotic or seductive context, the main character only interacts with her to thank her for completing IT tasks or providing some informations. With that whole context in mind, the distance between the game content vs the fanarts can be really significant, to the point that some people end up exclusively focused on the fanarts, ignoring the game itself altogether. The fanarts side has really exploded: Blue Archive has surpassed both Azur Lane and Arknights on Pixiv with 185,174 unique entries (Pixiv is the #1 fanart platform in Japan) - if you add all the western fanarts existing only on Twitter, it's beyond 200k fanarts. Opera Software, the organization and higher-ups, possibly greenlit the sponsorship thinking it would be about the same type of content as the game, which is completely safe and available on both the Google Play and the App Store (knowing how stringent their regulations are, it's a solid content check). The Community Manager(s) hired by Opera Software had something else in mind though, and went with the fanart memes, which can be quite questionable.
PS: Kirsche was right when she remembered the devs tried to rein in the fan memes, they banned the use of the crying emoji on their live streams and subreddit, along with the phrases and terms associated with it. But the crowd found some ways around the filter, with ASCII art for example, so eventually the devs eased the ban but asked their mods to still do some clean up. It seems the message came accross: there is always a few of these emojis showing up, but it's no longer walls after walls of this under every stream, YT video, tweets, etc.

I love when people use the excuse "they look". Be honest here, most people judge someone based solely on looks. You only don't do that when you know the person for a while. There's not much thing to know about fictional characters. Additionally the thing that you do learn is usually related to the character's looks, since artist usually design characters to embody their traits. In real life, someone could be a gym bro looking mf and still have high pitched voice and likes cute things because we don't have much sway (nor do some of us care to change honestly) of our physical traits. Fictional characters are usually unconsciously made to look like their traits unless the creator consciously decided to add a conflicting trait. So it's not far fetched for a character to look one thing and act like that thing. Simplest conclusion is usually correct and whatnot.

One thing that I feel like I have to point out quick is that cunny absolutely has sexual connotations, like before hearing the explanation of what they meant in this video i was defaulting to it being a old fashioned by word for vag. Don't believe me? Well what's the word used to describe oral sex on a woman? Basically like a lot of words and terminology that's only kept alive by quasi autistic wordsmiths like myself, it has absolutely fallen out of usage in the common tongue, but the fact remains that it do be meaning the ol' vayjay. @@WeWillAlwaysHaveVALIS It's a double-entendre. In essence it nowadays means "a child's vajajay" when used in the darkest context. Normies will unironically believe it means "cute and funny" and the ones who use it to mean the first option lie to them because its funny as shit to make someone say something that you hear as incredibly sexual in an innocuous and innocent context. Its generating your own entertainment essentially. I even use it to mean "cute and funny" myself but in such context as to make it seem like a dog whistle to "test the waters" of a particular community to see how many in that community "know." Its a fun little game I like to play, and I don't limit it only to that word but plenty of other dogwhistles I know. In essence its code language. In the mouth of a normie it means "cute and funny," but in the mouth of someone who "knows things" it means "a child's pussy."
I’m gonna preface this by saying I’m not trying to defend or attack anyone, this is just an observation I’ve made. People online always say, “well what’s it a drawing of!?” And any anime “child” does not look like an actual child to me. If I saw any adult hurt a REAL child I would kick that person’s shit in. Or at the very least, publicly BERATE them! But I don’t have any emotional attachment to anime characters. And honestly, I’m more creeped out by the losers who treat these drawings like they are actually children!
I want to add to your point, specifically about how anime "children" don't look like real children, so allow me to speculate on this for just a bit. While it can be argued that loli characters look like children due to several "comparisons" such as a round-face, big eyes, big head, smooth skin, short, stubby, flat, etc. The problem here, and also the reason that I believe that loli characters in anime end up not looking like real life children, is because their facial features and skin is usually shared with older characters as well, unless you are some animes, which rids adult characters of those "cutesy" facial features as much as they can or try to add small facial details like cheek bones, etc. Humans like to compare, and so when a lot of animes have closely the same level of exaggerated "cute" facial features for both the "toddlers", "children", "teenagers", and even adult females and men, it can be kinda hard to associate the already cartoonish facial features with actual kids, when your suspension of disbelief is already viewing the animated drawings as "human" even though they barely are. If an actual person had their features, they would look like aliens and we would be weirded out. -Also because real kids look like actual hairless rodents- Of course, it depends on the person to person for whether or not they are capable of suspending their belief for anime "children", but the reason those people with those capabilities probably creep you out, is possibly because of all that I have already stated, that anime "children" tend to do and say things real children do not, which means that the people who see anime children as real children, view children according to very superficial things like height. It is kinda disturbing to be looking at usual anime styles, see a list of different "cute" not real life face designs that are used for a variety of characters age wise, then only get concerned when a character is either short, lacking "mature features" like big breasts, or is stated outright to be the age of a child. Especially so when you go back to the point about how we like to compare stuff from real life with fiction, in order to suspend our sense of disbelief, but real life has so many straightforward and subtle differences between children, teenagers (still kids, but a different visual category), and adults, which aren't present in most anime styles. -Mostly puffier cheeks and chins that make them look like deformed pufferfish- And now, imagine, you are (HOPEFULLY) not attracted to literal children. They make it pretty easy not just mentally, but obviously visually as well. That people are able to fully suspend their sense of disbelief with animes consistency in how character designs are done face wise across the ages, can have some weird implications on how they view the subtle details of actual child faces in comparison to actual mature faces. That being said, I don't believe that is entirely the case, just that the implications are possible, and could be a plausible explanation. People love drawing comparisons after all, even if they aren't that good. There are obviously examples of animes that have artstyles that either capture how real children look pretty well to the point that you go "whose rat is this" (and to my knowledge, the few times these things happen, they are never sexualized, because only sickos could do that), or they have the children look drastically different from the more mature characters, but at the end of the day, this issue comes up because Japan likes cute things, and most of the details we would attribute to children, are cute, but general western societies view cute things as inherently childish a lot of the time, so that maybe adds a bit of "I already don't like these things" to it. Perhaps their real reason for viewing anime loli characters as children, is because they are often cute, which is seen as childish, and seeing as how Japan also does like to see cute things as also being compatible with "sexy", which as pretty much a descriptor that is entirely removed from the word "cute" in the western way of thinking, which might cause some red flags to pop up in the "people-who-complain-about-loli-characters" brains, but seeing as the whole "cute being seen as childish" thing is majorly a general western cultural thing, it doesn't seem to have much weight and can come across as a little xenophobic in the literal sense, as it may be more culture-shock than it is an actual moral issue. So just to summarize, western people apply "Childish" or "Childlike" as an aspect to words like "Cute", while for at least the Japanese, they do not have those 2 different words mean the same thing. Of course we can argue about the "potential" dangers of allowing terms like "Sexy" to be used alongside Cute-features that children happen to share, but that is not what people seem to be arguing about, and then again, I don't particularly trust discussions where "potentially" is a big key word. Although it involving children is an obvious "I can see why people would be that protective" that I can sympathize with. But those are just my 2 cents. Sorry for slapping you with a full-novel-page worth of text.
I despise loli. The childlike features are off-putting to me, and it seems to be everywhere. However, it ain’t a real child and lolicons can be into it, no questions asked. I don’t see the need to police artwork for other people. It’s narcissistic at best, fascistic at worst. It’s also very telling that a lot of the people who screech about loli turn out to be actual child predators. Methinks doth protest too much.
I want to argue that it doesn't matter what we think, it matters what other's do. For one, a person liking anime probably means they already think as anime characters as fictional humans, just like how you would think of characters in novels, movies, etc, as a portrayal of humans. Fictional, you don't sympathize with it like with other people, but still recognize it as a caricature of a human. Then introduce a loli character. You know it's meant to portray a child. You know it's meant to be a stand in for a child in this fictional world. But you're still obsessed with it. An hey, we're veterans here. Movies do also have children in it. It's also more realistic there. Why does anime children get all the scrutiny here. Well it's because movies don't have their children be drawn in fucking porn. If you like anime even a little bit, you probably do already suspend the disbelief that this cartoon is meant to represent a human being just like an actors does in a movie. You also already knew that drawing of a child is a stand in for a human child, drawn like since that's literally just the style of the media. It's one thing if you just like them or they're role in that one anime. But some people jack off to them. It's not canon. It doesn't bring anything to the story. People just like the likeness. They act like the child in the story. They look like a child. It's character of a child. It's a drawing made with the intention to look like a child. Everyone knows it's supposed to portray a child. But someone went and did it. The hentai portrays the child like how the child usually acts in the story. However, it jumped some hoops to make it believable. Altered the character a bit. It looks the same. They acts similiarly. Just, it's a porn. With a portrayal of a child. Sometimes, I just want to play it safe. If someone's screaming into the office about how much they want to strangle me, I'd take their word for it. Saying you liking a portrayal of a child is an odd hill to die on. Climate change is coming. We have pedophiles rampant in small pockets of the internet. But "hurr durr, I don't think I mind it since to me the portrayal of children here doesn't look like an actual child". Yeah buddy, it's fiction. Of course it's not an actual child, but you can't honestly tell me you don't think someone consciously going to NHentai to search child porn isn't even a little bit disturbing to you unless you like them as well. Also, umm actually moment here. The second thought police is religions, where you usually aren't even allowed to have heretic thoughts. The first thought police is motivating ourselves. Who knew humans can control themselves to not have terrible and frankly "should be in jail"ly thoughts.

I was not aware of cunny stuff, I JUST learnt it from you gals
I like how I saw Pippa's post about being blocked and now I'm getting context and it's wild af how it got this far.
Context:
Blue Archive is not a porn game at all, it's featuring much less lewd content than AL or Nikke.
@@TubeofDestiny UOHHH

In the mouth of a normie it means "cute and funny," but in the mouth of someone who "knows things" it means "a child's pussy."

Someone needs to construct Maslow's Hierarchy of Degeneracy.
I've used Opera for the past idk decade or more. I am feeling very strange right now XD Brands are so strange once you put them on twitter.
-Also because real kids look like actual hairless rodents-
Of course, it depends on the person to person for whether or not they are capable of suspending their belief for anime "children", but the reason those people with those capabilities probably creep you out, is possibly because of all that I have already stated, that anime "children" tend to do and say things real children do not, which means that the people who see anime children as real children, view children according to very superficial things like height.
-Mostly puffier cheeks and chins that make them look like deformed pufferfish-
And now, imagine, you are (HOPEFULLY) not attracted to literal children.

In defense of OperaGX and Rebecca, didn't she die recently from the anime which sort of validates the crying emoji? (Have not watched Cyberpunk but since she is a fan favourite im guessing no one would want to see her go)
