My mother had our ranch house remodeled about 63 years ago and had the craftsman install a Dutch door for the entry. It was an item of interest for lots of folks. Richard Proenneke of ‘One Man’s Wilderness’ legacy was a family acquaintance and sent a note to Mom that included a picture of his ‘copy’ on his cabin at Twin Lakes.
I kind of liked the door design as you were building it and the epoxy idea I think is a good one...but when you put the oil to it...WOW. That really brought the project together. Beautiful bit of wood. Looking forward to the end product. Cheers from NB
your canoes are beautiful - it's interesting how your boat building knowledge affects your construction methods compared to a lot of builds i've seen - much more craftsmanship
Geat job. Remember that the fillings in the door are not supposed to be glued in place. They need to be able to contract and expand. It`s impressive what you have done so far.
i see you have used western red cedar for your project. I am thinking of doing the same(?) kind of trailer this winter but I am thinking of using Spruce for the outer wood. What are you thoughts on this? You seem to have put a lot of thought into this. I am also thinking of a skylight or vent< thought or ideas.
I wish I had your skills! I'm the son of a carpenter and I have absolutely no skills in any of the trades. I know how to use a hammer, pliers, and screwdriver, and that's about it. I’m the laborer. My short comings in that area are what led me to computer tech stuff. I hate I don't have the skills you and my father have. Your cabin on wheels project is coming along great. I can’t wait to see it on one of your adventures.

Great project - I can’t wait to build my own. Thank you !
Looks incredible. I am loving the sped up parts of the video, so we get to see the whole process without spending too much time. Thanks

I knew that for cabinets but is it true for exterior doors? I was concerned about weather (rain or melting snow) getting through.
I believe so since the grain at the bottom of the door is going the other way, but why not wait and see. If it is ok, it`s ok.
My thoughts exactly. I think it should be ok since the panel width is only 5 inches. I don't think there should be too much movement, but who knows. 🙂
Hi,name tarmizi from Malaysia,i like

Beautiful! This is so helpful in planning the build I'm about to start! What is the tool you're using at 7:28?
I could a pulled a better door outa my 😵 , oh wait I liked it👍. Also didn't know there was a self mixing epoxy tube like that.
When's the interior insulation?
Done. You can find the video in the playlist on my channel page.
