I want to explain the government's mindset behind this year's budget. The reality is that Welfare schemes (or freebies) drive many people (masses) to vote a certain manner. Even I want taxes to be lowered, but it is going to be a long tug of war between "VOTE POLITICS" & "Long-Term GROWTH FOCUSED POLICIES". BJP has realised this after the Lok Sabha elections, and therefore even they have started khatakhat scheme of their own, promising Rs 1,500 monthly cash fund for poor women in Maharashtra. And they have to keep Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu happy for maintaining the stable alliance. BJP will play very safe, as they cannot afford to loose support from rural poor people. Remember, it was shocking to most people how badly BJP lost in poor rural constituencies. I don't have high hopes that taxes will be lowered in the next few years.

here is the thing, apart of curruption our country suffers from what many call 'rural aparthied'. i.e. majority of eloctoral power is concentrated with the rural population despite the fact that majority of population is now urban (hopefully delimitation fixes it). in such situation political parties are insetivised to bring socialist and appeasing policies and not insentivised to catalyse business opportunities. in every budget one has to keep giving and increasing subsidies, and avoid regulation of taxes and electricity theft in rural areas because that hits the votes. a recent example of this is the stupid karnataka state quota.
They didn't even do census in 2021. And as much as I know they will do it in 2031 only. Without an updated vision of population they can't redistribute the current constituency boundaries. There's also a good chance that states with lower literacy rates might get more seats. Current constituency boundaries are based on population during independence. Even if we plot with 2011 census data, northern states with more uneducated population will get more seats compared to south or east only because of their higher population growth rate.😢

Why to remove tax, instead of it issue tax payer card which will give benefits like cghs card. More and more people will willingly give more tax. Even those tax evading rich people will also give tax. While giving freebies, scrutinize physical ability. If person is physically capable, still poor, use them for humanitarian/environmental causes. At least govt premises will be clean, environment will be clean and increase their benefits as per their contributions. At the end give proportionate benefits for physical/mental/ideas/monetary contributions and people will give willingly.

I want to explain the government's mindset behind this year's budget.
The reality is that Welfare schemes (or freebies) drive many people (masses) to vote a certain manner. Even I want taxes to be lowered, but it is going to be a long tug of war between "VOTE POLITICS" & "Long-Term GROWTH FOCUSED POLICIES".
BJP has realised this after the Lok Sabha elections, and therefore even they have started khatakhat scheme of their own, promising Rs 1,500 monthly cash fund for poor women in Maharashtra. And they have to keep Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu happy for maintaining the stable alliance.
BJP will play very safe, as they cannot afford to loose support from rural poor people. Remember, it was shocking to most people how badly BJP lost in poor rural constituencies. I don't have high hopes that taxes will be lowered in the next few years.

here is the thing, apart of curruption our country suffers from what many call 'rural aparthied'. i.e. majority of eloctoral power is concentrated with the rural population despite the fact that majority of population is now urban (hopefully delimitation fixes it). in such situation political parties are insetivised to bring socialist and appeasing policies and not insentivised to catalyse business opportunities. in every budget one has to keep giving and increasing subsidies, and avoid regulation of taxes and electricity theft in rural areas because that hits the votes. a recent example of this is the stupid karnataka state quota.

There's also a good chance that states with lower literacy rates might get more seats. Current constituency boundaries are based on population during independence. Even if we plot with 2011 census data, northern states with more uneducated population will get more seats compared to south or east only because of their higher population growth rate.😢

Why to remove tax, instead of it issue tax payer card which will give benefits like cghs card. More and more people will willingly give more tax. Even those tax evading rich people will also give tax. While giving freebies, scrutinize physical ability. If person is physically capable, still poor, use them for humanitarian/environmental causes. At least govt premises will be clean, environment will be clean and increase their benefits as per their contributions. At the end give proportionate benefits for physical/mental/ideas/monetary contributions and people will give willingly.
