For system things, look in System Settings, Keyboard, Keyboard Shortcuts. Other shortcuts depend on the app you are using and whatever else you may have installed.
I use these all the time mostly to search for apps like yesterday my dock wasn’t visible and I had to open a certain app so I just used spotlight to look for it. Turns out there was a problem with my macOS installation so I had to reinstall, but I have Time Machine so thank God I didn’t lose any files.
Thanks Gary. Spotlight isn’t working for me. I recently purchased a new MacMini M4Pro. Used migration assistant to move from an intel iMac. Everything crossed over fine except Spotlight. It finds core programs but nothing else. Re indexed, reinstalled OS, even did a few things via terminal with help from 2 senior advisors at Apple … they cannot figure it out and have sent it to the “engineers”…. 2 weeks and no answers yet.
Great video but I have an unrelated question. I somehow got dropped from a family group text. I can see what someone texts. I just can’t respond. How to fix this? Please.
@@darrellhornick7764 That's odd. So the Messages app is missing the input box? I'd try restarting your device (you never mention which device) to see if it comes back. Probably nothing to do with it being a group text then.
@ both an iPhone 16 Pro Max and even on my MacBook Pro laptop. It has something to do with iMessages. It’s way deeper than restarting. That’s been done multiple times. Thanks though.
I don't know how you do it, but I like it. You are truly a talent at explaining things.
Another video where I'll have to watch again tomorrow, and next week, and next year to remember all the great tips; thanks!
thank you, Gary!
Very useful tutorial. Many thanks!
You’re the best man
thank you, sir
great video
Thanks for the video. Where can I find the list of all keyboard shortcuts availiable like Cmd+D and so on?

Sorry, I don't know what the problem could be. So you get the texts, but you can't respond to them? What happens when you try?
There is no text comment box to type in. Making it physically unable to reply or add comments.

Those Apple programmers certainly are a clever bunch. I'm starting to wonder what's left to add to the OS.
80% of the time I will use Spotlight to go to any settings in the settings app because I hate finding items in the apps itself hehe
