- In this video titled EU4 A to Z - I Fought 1 MILLION TROOPS To Get The RAREST GOVERNMENT In The Game I play as Oman in Europa Universalis 4 1.36 King of Kings. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Oman and I attempt to become one of the rarest governments in EU4, a thalassocracy. So, let's see if I managed to do it! I hope you guys enjoy this series. since they have a bunch of vassals and only own land on the coast, either own all the coast of india and southeast asia(ayutthaya, malayan peninsula, Vietnam,) or have 10 vassals while their liberty desire is below 10%
Own or have a subject own all tropical wood provinces
Since they have a lot of vassals and there are lots of rleasables in India, you could try having one vassal for every letter of your name to spell ORISSA (O is yourself, R is Ratanpur (or anything else), I is Idar or Indrapura, etc.). As a bonus goal, you could try getting them in order
As Orissa, conquer Oman. (Kidding!)
You confirmed the wrong thalassocracy, it's the flag one at the top in Tier 1 as well
Love how Oman has such crazy naval trade ideas and yet starts as a landlocked country.

To be fair neither were originally landlocked in previous versions of the game map
Oman used to be a lot larger and pretty much had all of the land owned by Hormuz at the game start

If EU4 doesn't make you question your life choices, you're not playing it right
The reason Delhi never helped Vijayanagar is because you always declared a holy war, and both of you are Muslims, when you declare that CB against other religions any of their allies who share religion with you won’t come. This has been the most useful to me when the Ottomans and France ally each other cause Oh God, it’s just pain to battle those two at the same time.

I played my only "Just a little Patience" eu4 game with Oman... also built a huge trade network, fighting major (seafaring) powers, who weren't putting up much of a fight at all, unfortunately.

My mate and I are a couple of sessions away from finishing our Bavaria>Germany and Poland coop run, god it made me sad how little money I was making having only the land routes in Germany to make money off. Tons of production money, sure, but not a lot of trade. And before you ask, I let my mate have Danzig and the Prussian lands, but I get the north shore of the Baltic. I'm making some money from trade but still primarily tax/production.
I respect the challenge. Especially the extra effort you put into it.
As a fan I want you to enjoy it too. If you can make it difficult it does make it more interesting, but we don't want it to be tedious for you either. Is there a happy medium?

The Red Hawk, i have no idea why u had to fight those monstrous wars to get that gov reform. All u need is some centers of trade(u can buy many of them in india), and conquer east african coast. Then u get majority of trade power in all required trade nodes. I even made it with pirate republic owning madagascar only, wasnt easy, but i still made it with 3 states only

Anytime I try getting Oman started, Ottomans rushes through Mamluks and ends up desiring all my land in like a hundred years.

Only partially related to the video at hand, I think there really should be an achievement as Oman that requires you to move your capitol to Zanzibar called "That's Just Where He Lives", both for the partial historicity of it and for the Bill Wurtz reference
I loved this campaign, both because of it being longer and because Oman is in my top 3 favourite nations in EU4.
I love playing oman. Its historical significance during the era is quite underserved by the mechanics though.

I'm pretty sure the point of Thassolocracy is that you don't have to conquer the required nodes, just use ships to get power there.

Europe looked absolutely NUTS this game. Ottoman-GB alliance, French Italy, Spanish Austria+ Portugal PU, Genoa owns half the steppes and a naturally occurring Westphalia.

FYI, trade protectorates are absolutely busted, and you can get them as Great Britain without thalassocracy. They take no diplo slots and each one gives you flat 2% Goods Produced PER PROTECTORATE!!! If you play colonial Britain, you can get every native tribe in the world as your Trade Protectorate, i had like 50 small nations in my GB game, giving me an extra 100% Goods Produced!

The ibadi should just have the ibadi school. Their Fiqh (Jurisprudence) is distinct in many ways, and technically, they view all other sects as not being muslims at all. Though modern day Ibadi's are generally known for their tolerance and friendliness today.
Newcomer question. I assume people can explain things to me here.
What do „morale“ and „discipline“ do in the context of the game and how can I imagine that they work? Why is „discipline“ preferable over „morale“ as an advisor bonus generally and why do you want them over other boni so much. Of course that’s not 100% always the case, Fort Defense is occasionally what you need, but I still would like to learn how to put these into context.
In a battle if you lose all of your morale you lose the battle. So having more morale doesn't improve your army quality it just make you win battles more. But discipline reduces the damage taken by your troops(probably they lose less morale because they take less damage but I'm not sure). And discipline increases military tactics too(I don't know what military tactics does but I know it's important)
Heavily simplified but basically
-Morale: unit staying power in battle. The higher the morale, the longer your unit takes to "break"
-Discipline: modifier that buffs all your units (increased damage dealt, less damage received)
it's quite difficult to explain but to put it simply is just because discipline causes more damage to enemy troops.
what they said ^^^ in the beginning of the game morale is more important, but as it goes on discipline outpaces it to the point where the AI will start fleeing your armies if you have high discipline
Morale works as hp because it allows you to stay more time in a battle, discipline increases your damage and defense making you recieve less damage and do more

Ottomans are season O, world conquest in season O is them, I don't know who the hell was saying Ryukyu lmao.
Hawk brother I have question, why do you keep pushing quality idea when you are clearly behind in mil tech? cavalry combat and navy bonus really wont do as much as tech 6 which is one of the strongest to take early. Everything did go well but still would probably have been with less casualties, no?

I never realised thassalocracy was that rare. Every time i play venice i take maritime ideas first andend up being a thassalocracy by 1500 every time. Maybe its harder when youre not venice haha
Same here, I did it in my very first Ironman run (and actually my second campaign ever) as Portugal without even aiming for it (though, admittedly, Maritime ideas was my last idea group, so it took a loooong time)
@@betoh7140 I just tried taking maritime ideas first as venice one time and it ended up being really good, with national ideas and maritime you end up with something like 200k sailor pool, every infantry unit I owned would be a marine haha. Saves you from venice's terrible manpower situation

The current capital of Orissa is known as " the city of temples " so you must build a temple in all provinces, for the second goal make sure no muslim country or province exists in the Indian subcontinent, as Orissa historically resisted the muslims very strongly.
can't you press ctrl instead of shift (or the other way around, don't remember i haven't been playing the game for a while now) in order for the money NOT to go over 100 when doing the peace deal, so you don't press the - button a few times?

At about 29:00 why not just threaten war for one province on GB before Spain? It is colony and computer usually give it! And the second province after this war?
First, GB will think that his alliance block is heavily stronger than ours and refuse to give anything to us. Second, even if he`ll give us 1 provence there will be an additional modifier to reject this offer for a second time

Red , i love Play as a taloscracy. Play Great britain dont Blob and Spam light ship and Heavy ships. Take only Naval idea and commercial. I Made bankrupt ottomans, and spain 😂 without any Land battle. I has something Like 800ships
